Can someone please upload the original 4.3 NEE version of SecMms.apk and accompanying odex, i seem to have ****ed up the original thank you very much
Edit: i used the above two files to replace my errornous secmms.apk and flagged them 755 to be sure they had appropriate security.
But the messaging icon is still gone from my ui both in nova launcher and in touchwiz (missing from apps availiable to add to launcher desktop)
i still seem to be able to send sms:es (from GoSMS) but sending MMS still doesn't work (which is why i was fiddling with this in the first place)

If I download the stock rom, can I pull it from there and inject it into the custom one I'm on? Is it just a matter of changing permissions and replacing the apk?

Uploaded the stock deodex att phone, contact and Mms apk.
To get the white dialer to work you have to replace both phone and contact files
You'll want to make a backup in System/app of the files you want to replace, drop these In the folder, set permissions then reboot & you should be good.

I second this. I'm running a custom international rom and love it but only thing I miss is the att mms, phone and contacts apk's. If there is a way to do this I would like to do this myself. If someone knows how or can point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I may be doing something wrong... but I'm using root explorer to change permissions, rename the original, then copy this one (phonesec) to the app folder... and the dialer is still dark blue. Maybe the theme is not located in the apk?

Right... that's exactly what I did... but the dialpad is still dark blue after reboot...

Dunno, I've used these and have swapped the dark dialer back to white. I'll have to look at Em again may be a while though. In the middle of moving and only Internet is through my phone

Yeah it probably worked... but it is the apk for the dark dialer...I checked the pngs in it.. if you find the White one please let me know!

Weird...I checked the pngs and that one is definitely the White one, but even after wiping the cache and dalvik it still isn't updating the dialpad. I even tried extracting the apk now residing in system/app... it's there.
I'm running mint jelly if that means anything to anyone..
EDIT: nevermind .. got it! Thank you!!
I didn't realize I had to change the contact one also in order for it to work... awesome!

You're swapping out SecContacts.apk right? Thats where the main dialer is. SecPhone.apk is just the in-call dial-pad.

Worked perfect for me....
Install keyboard like normal apk & themes apk files too..
Then copy paste lines given on thread to buildprop. Also put AndroidEmoji.ttf to System/fonts (backup old one), set permission 644. Reboot!!

How do i set the permission 644?
I did all the things but still no emoji.
I get the keyboard but can't se the emoji. blank spaces... :silly:
Edit: got root browser and changed the settings to 644. But no Emoji.
Cant see them on the phone but when i send them people can see them.
I have a solution for this. But I can't post it... odd!

Sorry mate… don’t think so… you see, you have to get access to the system folder i order to copy and alter the files. But if you figure out a way to do that without root… then good for you mate. Good luck… :good:

i get an install error
but i switched to a rom with i9505G model number
APK install error
I tried these steps..
1. Pushed the APK file to system/app using Root Explorer
2. changed permissions to rw-r--
Still Didnt work Please Help.................

S Memo Problem..
Just flashed my device (i9500) wid the latest cm12 unofficial rom..
I have around 100+ files from my SMemo app of the previous rom i.e. Ozcan Rom Aroma...

iItried to install SMemo app v12.01.18.4717.. The device shows app not installed..
Plz help or suggest me any other app that supports .snb extension files.. I have some really important stuff in it
I screw up and download a bad apk and it made my Samsung Internet app f'c constantly. So I used Titan Backup and deleted the app, idiot move ofcourse. Can someone please share the original Samsung Internet app please. I know I can re-flash any rom but I have way to many mods to start over. Greatly appreciated if anyone could help

Using a file manager, go to the zip file containing the rom you're running, navigate to system >app and export the app you want. Then navigate to the extracted app and you should be able to install it
copy, or extract and copy, the .apk file (and the .odex file if an odexed ROM) from the .zip for the ROM you're using.
paste them in system/app
set permissions to rw-r-r
reboot
you should have your app back.

i have a question for you guys.
i have a N9005 with stock latest rom which is NE4. i am rooted. i tooked secmms.apk and secmms.odex from /system/priv-app and actually decompiled it using apktool for Android itself. i edited the mmsconfig.smali file for certain mods.
the question now is, how do i actually recompile it back? i have secmms_src and secmms_odex folders. how do i recompile it back to odex format for my odex stock rom?

This may help you but make a back up first.
Find a deodex SecMms.apk and modify it as you need.
Then rename it to Modded_SecMms.apk and put it in system\priv-app or wherever it belongs to, do not remove original one (SecMms.apk, SecMms.odex)
Flash Universal Odex Script
Then odex your file see how to do it in that thread
Remove original non-modded one from system folder with its correcsponding odex file
Rename your modded file to its original pack name SecMms.apk (you shoud find both Modded_SecMms.apk and Modded_SecMms.odex)
Check permission to rw,r,r
Reboot
I guess this is the only possible way.

But the thing is, from apktool for android, i can create a deodexed apk of SecMms. But no matter how i push to my phone even after setting permission, MESSAGES doesnt appear at all.
