Not with the force root method with visionary+ is there a way to unroot for warranty issues

[Q] Can I flash Defy+ MB526 Firmware on a MB525?

I was wondering if I could flash this (UK version) Defy+ MB526 Firmware on a MB525 (red lens) without any problem?
Could someone be so kind as to share a little knowledge here?

I flashed this full sbf and now no 3g and no market, trying to downgrade, hope to find and answer.

I dont think there is a downgrade after you flash full-sbf. we can only use cm9 and GB kernel roms after that.

you can not do that. Defy and Defy+ have locked bootloader that wont allow the downgrade. Still there is hope for your phone, your issues are quite solvable. You should root your phone, install baseband switcher for 3g, then install custom recovery and then flash google apps, all of this you can find it in the dev section.
If you ask there I would gladly help

u can flash ms2ginger, argentstone, CM7, CM9 but to install there u must root your phone, custom recovery...

[Q] Question rooting BL7

Apologies if its been answered but couldn't find one. Also it might be silly but still I need to ask.
I've got a Defy+
Version: 4.5.1 -134 DFP-231 which I need to root.
After looking through the forums, I ended up here.
My questions is regarding the files mentioned in the thread we need to flash.
Are those full sbf's? (Do I need to worry about the CG versions?)
And after rooting, In case I need to unroot, will I be able to flash my stock ROM back??

Worry about what? "Upgrading" to BL8? Don't worry, can't get any worse than BL7

neo.ank, could you tell me what did you do step by step to root your defy, please? Here is so many manual that I'm confused. I have the same version DFP 231 like you have.

I've already done it.

I have a question regarding defy+ on 231. If i root it using the new root methods for BL7, will I be able to install a dual boot system, i.e. retaining my stock rom AND adding cm9 (either quarx or epsilon)?
If I can't do the dual boot install, will only cm9 install?

After you have installed it reboot phone and press vol. down(-) on blue led, choose recovery and custom recovery. Install what Rom you want from here.

My defy mb525 flash a mistake DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231
My defy mb525 become defy+ mb526.I can use it without any problems.
But every time to off the screen It can not open it up again I must reset phone in order to use it again.Can I fix it?
I really want to be defy mb525.
Help me please!!

You could try flashing a MB525(defy) sbf from the bootloader menu.
I'm no expert, but this is the direction I'd head in.

No, that's won't work. Defy got bootloader locked, we can't flash older build than current firmware.

To i2enon the only way I can think off, is to root your phone like the way Defy+ with DFP-321 build did.
