Hey Guys my friend has an IDEOS X5 and he has forgotten the unlock pattern and the google account password too and he can't use it at all. The company itself replaced it with a new X5 and they probably copied the data from the previous x5 to the new one so the phone still remembers that there's a forgotten pattern, any help ? thanx.

Can't he recover his google account password in his pc?
No he can't, if he could I wouldn't be here to ask.
That is dangerously close to a stolen device scenario, so I doubt you'll get much help because, after all, if you put that information out there who knows if the future theif of your phone won't be reading this topic? :banghead:
guess what, neither FBI can bypass android security pattern
I did finally managed to change the password of the Gmail but the phone doesn't know the new one because isn't connected to the internet.
Couldnt he just reinstall any rom?

successfully recovered a phone lost in a city centre using Android Lost which had been picked up by someone.
Can be found free on market. App can be hidden, controlled via SMS or computer and can be sent to a phone remotely so long as you have the gmail address and login password that the phone is registered to.
actually i think these apps are as bad as any other app if anyone resets your phone then u r back to 0.
the best is get it tracked by an IMEI no.

Some of them (like this) have an option to install them to the system partition. That way if someone does a factory reset it is still there. They can still remove it if they know what they are doing (flashing a new rom will remove it), but if they know how to do that then they can beat most methods you try and use. I guess most thieves would give up if they wiped a phone and it was still locking them out.

i knew someone will say this even i thought about it but doing a factory reset will even wipe the apps data so u cant track your lost device or lock it.
So what is the best method, by which thief can't do anything to unlock tracker....??

There is no ideal method to recover ur lost phone. Once factory reset is done, nothing will work. And tracking with imei is not a simple process and only works if the thief uses sim cards.
If ur lost phone is in the hands of a geek, he/she can use it perfectly without being caught.
Only thing u can do is to keep ur phone or laptop from being stolen.

if i was i thief i will change i imei no.
anyway there are many softwares to be on safe side having one on your phone isn't bad just make it a system app.
there are 50-50 chances u will get your phone back because most people think it as a normal phone and will just change the sim card and reboot it and then reset it so u will have the new sim no. and u can get it tracked or lock your phone.

There are a number of ways and its not easy u need to have knowledge of hex editing.
I read a thread where there was a ZTE tool to change it but it could brick your device.
Changing imei could be messy so plz don't try it and its against the law
I'lll not try it!!

In our sub continent thiefs are majorly illiterate, they can not reset device so u have enough time to track ur phone by using tektrak.apk its awesome...... try tek trak
Has anyone thought of writing the GPS locator app to the recovery partition? I mean, when u wipe data, cwm doesn't get wiped does it? So why not put it there

Avast Anti Theft allows u to write the anti theft module to the system partition. So unless the thief flashes a new rom (highly impossible), the phone can survive a factory reset and can be tracked
Edit : found out that it has an option to survive rom flashes too!!!!!! Requires CyanogenMod

I have a device I recently bought from the internet. It has a device protection on it. The seller says he cannot remember such information for me to gain access. So I am pretty much stuck.
How would I go about bypassing this?
Thank you in advance.

Which at the moment looks highly impossible.
Is it on lollipop ?

I have no idea mate, I can't tell. It's just stuck on the 'Verifying your account' screen.
How would I go about checking with no access to the phone?
EDIT: I think it is on lollipop
Does anyone else have any advice at all?
Thanks

This is one method of getting around the Google FRP Lock:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD6RcS8ulGw
He basically uses a loophole on the first time setup WiFi page to launch Google Assist - bypassing the setup process, download/sideloads some apps and adds a Google Account.
You don't have to have the apps on a separate sd card; you can download them from apk-mirror using the Stock Browser, then go back and install them through My Files.
When rebooting the phone - it forgets about the previous owners Google Account that was on the phone.
It's quite funny really - not very good security.
I ran into this problem when I factory reset a G903F on the latest BTU firmware using the old HOME+VOLUP+POWER combo.
Flashing the latest firmware using ODIN with re-partition and erase NAND didn't even remove it.
Coming from an older S2 - I didn't realise that setting a lock screen pin activated other security mechanisms.
It basically thought I'd nicked it.
I should've factory reset it through the Settings > Backup & Restore menus - have to remember that!

The best thing you can do is ask your friend to reset his google password and then let him unlock your phone. That's the most XDA can help you with since we have no idea how the device was obtained. If he was your friend, he should take the responsibility of unlocking your phone.

Android phones require ONLY the Google account information to bypass the restriction.
Download the bypass app, then plug otg, install that then reset, i think that ur phone is not the newest version, so otg method would work

Hello people,
My grandpa gave me his P8 lite a some time ago. I want to start using this phone now, but his account is still logged in the phone. I'm a bit worried from the factory reset protection when I hard reset the phone. Sadly, he doesn't remember the password for his G account and the number that he registered it with doesn't exist anymore.
I'm asking, if I remove his account in the phone settings (I know the pincode so I can get into the phone) and then hard reset the phone, the FRP won't trigger?
Thanks for any help/answer
