[Q] Right click on ICS bug? - Acer Iconia A500

I just upgraded my firmware to 4.0.3 and I'm having a little bit of trouble. I use Splashtop HD and it says that it has enabled right and middle click for ICS, but when I try to right click, it just asks if I want to disconnect the session. Is there a way to set right click on an external mouse to open the context menu? I'm using a Logitech MK500 keyboard/mouse combo if that helps any.
Thanks, TechPlease

This is not a bug it it work as design. I would like also to have the old behavior back.
I've seen that on Asus there is an extra menu developed by them to chose the behavior of the right click is it possible to make an app or something to do the same.
Thank you

@Thade "Old behavior"? Do you mean where a long left click will bring up the right click menu? If not, sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. I hope they put that back in for now, as, when I use my mouse I can't right click at all.

Sonos Controller for Android

The official Sonos Controller is now in the Android App Market. Unfortunately, there's no Honeycomb support. Can't seems to find the apk on my phone once it was downloaded. Would like to side load it onto my Xoom to see if it works.
Let me know if anyone can point this out.
Install ES File Explorer, open it then click Menu, Manager, App Manager. Long press on the app and press Backup, it will then backup the apk to backups\apps on the sdcard.
Excellent!
Very accurate instructions. I'm very thankful.
No problem

I was able to get it running on my XOOM. But it was definitely built for the phone devices. Its small and vertical. Come on Sonos!

I only have one android device, its a tablet... I'd like to try the sonos app.
Thanks

Install Spare Parts from the Market and disable compatability mode, that will stretch the app out for you.

UA String Fix for WiFi Xoom

For those of you following along with the thread in the development forum, I'm not allowed to post in there yet but I've come across something of interest.
I took the resources.arsc file out of the framework-res-uastring.apk posted there and put it in the framework-res.apk that I pulled from my WiFi Xoom, and wouldn't you know, it worked!
I'm testing for stability now, but I can say that it's working for me so far. I've attached my modified framework-res.apk in case anyone wants to test along with me without going through the trouble of mashing files.
Nice, I was wondering if that would work. Just a word of caution though, since this resources.arsc comes from the US 3g Xoom it only has US-English and Spanish support.
Can someone test this and verify it works?

Works. Don't forget to reboot after applyng. I will post back if I notice any side effects but so far no problems.

Does it have any other benefits other than the user agent?

I only incorporated the uastring change into my mashup.

Is this for the wifi version, would it work on 3g? And do I need root?
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
I tried it and caused multiple FC's on me as soon as it rebooted.
I however did the samething you did and pulled my framework-res.apk, added the resources.asrc file to it and then pushed it and all was good. Thanks for the idea!
Thanks for that Codespeare. I have posted a version for the Canadian WIFI Xoom ONLY under the Dev section OT.

pulled my framework-res.apk & added the resources.asrc file. works great. thanks Codespear!!!
I did it too, worked. EXCELLENT!
Will try now, thank you so much, I love you really I do.
EDIT: works... but at what cost? I have noticed the keyboard has been acting up, sort of how like the Gingerbread keyboard screws up from time to time, I don't think it's it me, but sometimes when I type something like backck it does that! Back back back backck, I have never noticed this before hand.... I am typing this out on my Xoom right now just to let you know. I hope this wasn't the fix. Still the keyboard works okay but that annoying bug that Gingerbread gets is present... pretty weird. Hope for a fix if this is really the UA string fix. Thanks anyways, it works great!

You can now load up a website in full desktop mode by default. If you don't have this all websites will load into their mobile versions, because it detects it is Android and makes it suitable for the screen. Since Android works on tablet PCs now, this should be an interchangable option, however I don't think Google thought of this when they were making the browser.

And why do you not just change the UA string in the explorer or dolphin setup from android to desktop?

Does this work on the stock 3g version?

Because it changes back by default on the Android web browser. Also this is for the wifi only Xoom, there is another version specifically for the 3g Xoom.

There's a thread in the dev forum specifically for the 3G. I tried what I did as sort of a last resort for the wifi version.

[Q] I had to install Flash and where is the menu tab?

I went to play and video with playon and it said i needed to install Flash, which did not show up as being installed even though i could see flash in the browser. Hmmmmmm
Also where is the menu key. I only see the Back, Home and Search with a recent app keys
The settings/option button for <2.2 will show up at the end of that group in the lower left corner and the settings/options button for 3.0 apps will shows up in the top right corner.
Can you guys run xda developers website with the stock browser? Click the forum section and see it scrolls. Its really choppy.

Blank screen through HDMI.Help needed.

I have an Atrix 4G, AT&T branded, but i use it in Europe (unlocked). I have a HD dock. When I'm trying to connect the phone over HDMI (with ot without the dock) blank screen appears on the tv. I'm using the right input, i tried with an LG P990. The phone askes me if i want to use the Entertainment Center or (occasionally) the Webtop. Have you got any idea how to fix this?
System version: 4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.Us
Webtop version: N_01.77.37.P
It is an unrooted and unmodified phone. What could be the problem? How can i fix it? Thanks for your replies.
Did you use the same cable with the LG P990? Also, have you tried bypassing the dock by plugging straight from the phone to the TV.
i have tried with the LG's cable and the motorola's cable as well. Also i have tried to connect the phone directly to the tv. Same appears on the screen (blank, nothing).
If it never worked, I would guess it's a hardware issue. The only other thing I can think of is do a "clear data" on the webtop app, but I've never done that so do it at your own risk. Anyone else have any ideas?

[HOWTO] Use your Epic as Mouse/Keyboard for other Android devices

So, as far as I know, this should be able to control PC's too, and maybe PS3's. But, I've only tried this on other Android devices. Should control anything on CM7.X, or anything on any form of Android 3.0, 4.0, and 4.1.
Prerequisites(Epic 4G specific):
Has to be on an AOSP based ROM(CM, AOKP, Paranoid, etc)
Step 1.) Enable Bluetooth on your Epic 4G and other Android device.
Step 2.) Pair the devices together
Step 3.) Now, install "BluePutDroid" on your Epic from the Play Store.
Step 4.) Open BluePutDroid, hit the Start key on the top left
Step 5.) Swipe up the "Log" bar to make sure there were no errors. If there were, try step 4 again.
Step 6.) Tap the device you want to connect to(your other Android device)
Step 7.) When it finishes loading, the screen should be green. Swipe on this to move the mouse on the other android device. Tap once to click on the other device, and hold down till the screen turns red to do things like scrolling, drag and drop, etc.
If the S/W keyboard shows up, hit menu "Toggle Soft Keyboard" to hide it. If it keeps enabling itself, install "Null Keyboard" from the Play Store and set that as your input method while using BluePutDroid. Also, the H/W keyboard works great. So you can use that to type, or navigate with the Dpad
This app works on other devices as well, but I can't go into great detail on ROM compatibility and such.
If your device has CM7/9/10 or any AOSP based ROM, this will work.
This will work on the (rooted) stock ROM of some devices, such as Nexus S(all forms), Galaxy Nexus(all forms), and Galaxy S3 (all forms)
On other's it will not work on the stock ROM, regardless of root, such as Galaxy S(entire first series), and many older HTC devices(not sure of newer ones).
According to the app developer, this is kernel related and nothing he can do; if it works, it works. if it doesn't, get.cm
Thanks! I'll look into this.

I can confirm that this works with windows and linux - I've been using this app for nearly a year, and it works well
But I didn't know it worked with other CM devices - that's an awesome find

Would this work if the other device doesn't have bluetooth?
Amazing stuff though, I wish my netbook had bluetooth that would have made it even more amazing lol.

Lol. There is an app called WiFi Keyboard that'll let you type using your Epic, but its not near as awesome as this. And all text gets sent through in Caps lock

There's apps for PCs similar to this. Like RemoteDroid and gPad. I'd prefer gPad because it has many other uses, like controlling windows media player, microsoft powerpoint, and using it as a mouse/keyboard obviously. But again, it's over WiFi. Bluetooth is beta AFAIK.

This app has been around for at least a year - the benefit of bluetooth is faster response times than over wifi. I think that's partly the result of the direct connection, and partly because the wifi methods involve a computer-side server (often using vnc, which uses some processing time to send a live stream of the screen, even if the connected client app doesn't need it, such as with a remote kb/mouse app)

I can also vouch for this on the ps3. Donate, help him out and no ads.
My wife was giving me **** "you are so techy, why can't you ruin the ps3 with your phone". So i googled and XDAed until i found this app.

I love to log on while the wife is using the computer. Move the mouse as shes trying. Priceless. I use advance touchpad. Its via wifi but very responsive, and it gives me all the keys. I have to be able to windows key + p to switch to my TV.
