Hi guys,
I have a Bravo AT&T unlocked (Android 2.1 v1) and there are a lot of apps that simply don´t work (radio, market, etc).
I decided to install a custom ROM (Kobe 2.2.10) and following the instructions I have to wipe dalvik cache. I cannot find that option when I boot, there are only wipe data and wipe cache partition.
AS you may see, I´m new to Android environment so your suggestions would be much appreciated.
Another question: do I need to upgrade to gingerbread or this is made by simply installing the ROM?

The wipe data/cache will work -- dalvik cache is stored on the /data partition; but you'll lose all installed apps as well. If you're rooted, use Titanium Backup or similar to back up any apps as needed. I posted my app backup method at the bottom, but its a bit complicated and requires using adb and modifying the updater-script of what ever rom you're going to flash -- well, noob complicated anyways.
You need to flash the 2.2 sbf first since ALL our roms are based on it and the Froyo kernel. 2.1 is Eclair and afaik, no roms are made for it.
Then I'd skip that 2.2.10 rom since it's out dated. For stability, the roms go as follows -- CM7 -> Pikachu MIUI\2.4.20 MIUI -> MS2 Ginger (no camera\tethering) -> CM9 -> BravoX -> Stock. That said, CM9 will soon be at the top of the pack in the next month or two... I'd start off with CM7 if I were you, just to get the hang of how everything works and then go from there. MS2 also has very good battery, but no camera or tethering -- which doesn't matter if you use US ATT since it does an entitlement check to see if you pay for tethering. (Pisses me off since I only tether my home WI-FI, never 3g. Why should that cost me $20 a month???)
From the what you typed, it sounds like you're trying to flash a rom from the stock bootmenu which will not work. You first have to install Defy 2nd-Init, then install the rom from that bootmenu.
There is no "real" gingerbread for the Bravo, only GB roms built for the Froyo kernel. While the Bravo is fully capable of running GB, ICS, and probably Jellybean as well (Android 4.1.0, not released yet), Motorola would rather us buy new phones then update our software -- the crux of all but maybe 3 or 4 Motorola phones due to us having locked bootloaders.
Link to tutorial on sbf flashing
Link to Defy 2nd-Init
Here's my app backup method
adb pull /data/app ~/Documents/data/app
Open updater-script of rom you're going to flash (/META-INF/com/android/google/updater-script)
add the following 3 lines right before the final line
Code:
package_extract_dir("data/app", "/data/app");
set_perm(1000, 1000, 0771, "/data");
set_perm_recursive(1000, 1000, 0771, 0644, "/data/app");
add the pulled /data/app/ to the root directory of the zip so it looks like
data
META-INF
system
and flash the zip with all you're apps preinstalled and working -- you lose app data this way (settins, passwords, etc), but latent app data from one rom to the next can be bad news.
A trick is to do the above with a TB backup, then use TB to restore the app data for select apps that have a ton of settings to configure, but that can be dangerous if you go from say romA 1.0 to romB 1.0. RomA 1.0 to romA 1.1 is safer for restoring app data.
Not dangerous as in brick, more like the app will just FC on opening up. Its best to just ignore app data and just reconfigure everything.
I should add, if you don't require tethering or camera, then MS2 could be at the top of the list. Its an awesome rom with great battery life and stability.
thanks for the tips, I´ll try to implement them this weekend.
Since the phone is new and I don´t have any personal apps that I particularly use, do I need to make any backups? Do they come with CM7?

No, CM7 pretty much has it covered, unless you use the ATT or Blur Apps. You may need to find a market replacement for those.
If you do use the ATT\Blur Apps, then you could install MS2Ginger, but the camera and data tethering doesn't work with it -- its still one of the most stable\battery efficient roms out there. If it wasn't for the fact that I tether my wifi daily (I am right now) and sometimes the Bossman needs pictures from the job, I'd probably run MS2 as my primary stable; but CM9 works well enough now -- except yesterday when my baseband quit working out of nowhere, all I did was install a theme and reboot....Ended up restoring my Pikachu Backup since I on the way to work and needed stable.
Why wait till the weekend -- its a 15 minute process, and I'm including flashing the sbf and rooting the device.
As far as mods and all that goes, I'd stay away from the Touch Recovery. Reasons -- it doesn't like big Aroma Installer roms (wouldn't even start my 450mb Wiui I was working on), sometimes it just doesn't work, and data wipe also wipes sd-ext (where I store data I don't want being fragmented by vfat). It'll be awesome once its a bit more stable; just not noob friendly yet.
I suspect the Aroma not working with Touch is because /tmp is mounted to ram, and it just can't extract a 450mb rom in to ram and have the system fully working as well.
What sucks, is with little modification, the system will run the sdcard as ext3; except that mediaserver actually checks to see if the card is vfat and will fc when it isn't. And you cant make a 10mb vfat partition and symlink it to sd-ext either since vfat doesn't support symlinking. None of that really matters to you, but the Touch part reminded me of my most hated Android requirement -- vfat as the only filesystem of sdcard primary partition.

Whit the phone off press volume down button and power button, when you are in recovery mode where you see the android logo with exclamation, press both volume buttons at the same time.
thanx, I`ve just done that in a desperate move and it worked!

i have tried the fresh roms, and the TTG CDMA rom, regardless of the rom i get force close errors on settings in the phone and i dont have data or voice service. everything else works perfectly EXCEPT for settings and service.
help?
ae you performing a wipe before you flash? I know a lot of these roms say that they are no wipe but I have found that that it is always better to wipe then flash that way you know you are getting a clean install. also do you have a ton of apps? it is a known problem that the phone will freak if you have more than like 60 apps
yeah, i have wiped also. but one thing i only wipe data/factory reset
should
i wipe
dalvik cache also? alsong with anything else?
when I install a new rom I wipe both the factory/data reset and delvik cache. I also do this when I am going from say TTG 1.6 back to my backup of fresh 1.1. It just assures me that anything that one dev did in their rom will be wiped out and replaced by what the other did with no problems. the only FC I get is google voice ( which FC's on EVERYTHING for no particular reason)
ok wiping data, and dalvik because jusr assuming battery status, rotate settings and partition doesnt matter.
from my personal use I dont use all the options in recovery. the partition SD is going to be usefull once you get the ROMs running if you want to run apps2sd
nope...
ive unrooted used kitchen numerous times to auto root aswell then just apply update and I can get everything to work except FC on settings and no service, im trying to figure out how to use ruu 1.2.3 instead of the 1.5 one idk just gonna try.

RUU 1.29 will not work for you if you have used 1.56. Are you sure you're running a Sprint CDMA Hero? Can you step by step explain the process you go through when RUU'ing and when flashing, and when the problems start?
ok if i wanted to start from scratch, i will unroot my phone with htc sync and reload the stock rom.
then i use kitchen and run the tests and everything checks out good.
i auto root and its successful and working.
then say I download fresh 1.1, load it onto the root of the sd card.
Power off the phone then power on while holding home.
apply .zip on sdcard. it applies the fresh 1.1 update says successful
i click reboot, phone goes through startup process everything seems fine, rom loads up i can navigate through menues. except i get force close errors anytime i goto settings, and i have no service, no data or voice signal.
I have tried renaming fresh and other roms to update aswell, i have tried numerous roms, one of the most recent was the TTG cdma hero rom. and i get the same errors.
One interesting thing is the first rom i tried on the cdma hero was eclair 2.1 beta and that worked flawlessly like all the roms i tried on my g1. but i decided to go to fresh and nothing works.

I'm not sure what you mean by unrooting it with htc sync and reloading stock rom? You need to be using the RUU to flash back to stock.
Also if you are using apps2sd then I would recommend temporarily formatting your sdcard back to 100% fat32 (you will lose all data) and then try RUU and flash. Or just grab another sd card and put it in there. If you are using apps2sd and there is an app on your sdcard that is breaking things then it will persist even after a wipe.
1. Partition sdcard to 100% fat32 or replace it with another temporarily
2. Run 1.56 RUU to return to bone stock. Confirm everything works.
3. Run auto-rooter in kitchen. Confirm everything works.
4. Flash a rom, confirm everything works.
If you follow those steps exactly then everything will work out for you.
ok gonna try it again when wiping sd card and foratting to fat32.
any way or know how to get htc sync to recognize my phone?
it picks it up on my vista laptop but on my windows 7 64 bit it doesnt, but atm all i have is my windows 7 one.

You can do it either way. But you don't have to rename it.
WOW IT WORKS, their had to be something wrong with my sd card, because it wouldnt let me format it.
I had to delete all the files, then install some 3rd party software that would let me format it. idk what was wrong, but working great !!!
so excited finalllly lol
thanks everyone and especially flipz
i am running fresh 1.1 defreshed atm, love it but curious about what AOSP i think its called. what exactly is that, looking at it and seems interesting,
im hoping we get a rom similar to nexus, love the app drawer etc..
It may have worked because when you wiped your Sd, you deleted your apps, if you install too many, you'll have the same issue. I went round and round with mine before I figured it out, then found a thread on it.
AOSP stand for "Android Open Source Project" they are ROMs that are crated and developed from scratch by various developers.
I have played with AOSP builds and I have found that out of them all I like AOSP 1.6 best. The thing you have to rememeber about AOSP builds right now is that A. we still dont have the Kernel source so not everything is working correctly and they can be kinda buggy and B. all the AOSP builds are vanilla android, meaning they dont use sense UI which in my opinion defetes the purpose of having a hero. If I didnt care about sense then I would have gotten a moment.
that being said I will say that the AOSP builds are REALLY fast.
if you want to try a ROM that is close to an AOSP build but still has sense try TTG1.6 its really fast and has a really small memory footprint due to it being almost completely gutted and optimized.
hey!
Anyone have any good suggestions for a rom for HTC - Mytouch 4g? I am pretty much a n00b even though I manage to pull a complete ultimate true root and s=off lol.
i have the original tmobile stock rom though, is there a just Android 2.2 or Android 2.3 Vanilla rom for HTC mytouch 4g?!
I've seen EvilZ and Ice galicier , but I am not sure which one to go about .
Any (good) suggestions would really help!
thanks a bunch.

Search the dev section for nightly CM7, Its very vanilla-ish gingerbread and very stable btw, some pros?...improved battery life, open to customization, overall a better looking ui, runs silky smooth, and the kernel supports oc up to 1.5
Sent from my rooted glacier running CM7 and grankin's oc kernel
Thanks man!
but are those CM-7 nightly ones stable though?! I won't likely experience any SD-memory card errors, wifi not working , and etc *the usual problems* lol.
I would like to remain at 1 Ghz for now LOL. Just need a vanilla android version with tons of customizations though!
Also, since my phone is currently "ultimate perm true rooted + s=off " , I installd Rom Manager and did a Flash clockworkMod Recovery, only once though. Should I do it again? (twice)?
So, can you please tell me what is the true purpose of CWM? I know you can use it to recover, but recover what exactly and how is that possible?
Let's say I decide to get the CM-7 nightly version, what do I do need to do? (any specific guide) ive read general guides and I believe I did the right things lol.
Now with regarding flashing, it flashes the NAND chip right? :S So the apps i have installed and other tmobile junk will be lost? like it would be a complete full format process (similar to PC?)?
Thanks again! I appreciate it and I am looking through the thread and googling to learn .

1. Regarding how stable it is..its super stablr considering its still an alpha and i trust it enough to use it as my daily driver (i need 100% reliability and the phone has never let me down). Only known bugs are qik not working (and its a 2.3 compatibility issue rather than a rom issue) and you can use tango instead, ffc has a reverted x-axis effect xD..., mms might be blurry (which is fixed by changin the ua undr mms settings) and some may have other bugs i have not yet noticed
2. Your current 2.5 cwm will not work with gb, you will need to flash any 3.xxx version to install cm7. Cwm is designed to do backups of ur current working system and can be restored in the events of ur phone acting up (i.e bootloops or major issues...) although its also used to easily install .zip files (cm7 is a rom contained in .zip file and will need to be installes via recovery), its used also to wipe the system cache, dalvik cache and/or full wipes in the events of issues.
3. Here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916930#
Thats the nightly thread, you will have a "nightly" update you can flash thru recovery
4. If u go to cm7 you will have to (must) do a full wipe. Download titanium backup and back up ur existing apps and data (dont wanna lose ur angry birds progress), once cm7 is up just download tit bcup again and you'll have ur data back.
Hope this helped

one question at a time, bro.
1)the CM7 Nightlies are "Fairly" stable, though they do have bugs, as they are not fully complete (then again, no rom really is devoid of bugs and things to improve).
2)as for flashing CWM a second time, sometimes the recovery doesnt stick and when you boot into recovery, you will still go to the stock recovery. The second flash of CWM should fix this, and you should go to the CWM screen.
3) The purpose of CWM is to flash the various ROMs you'll find in the Development Section of this area. It also allows you to create nandroid backups, which will allow you to restore your phone to a specific state in time if something goes wrong or something (also helps to flash back to a rom without having to reinstall everything, which takes forever)
4)to flash a gingerbread (either CM7 or otherwise) you'll need to flash the CWM 3 to your phone manually, using the methods laid out in several threads in the Dev section. then you'll need to flash the rom, plus the Gapps for that rom (google apps like gmail, market, etc)
5)and yes, flashing a new rom will wipe all the data f(apps, accounts, call and text logs, etc) from the previous rom the previous (or youll need to do so before flashing). Now you see why you make nandroid backups also, using a backup application like titanium or MyBackup can make that process much simpler.
Arighty. I've been reading that CM-7 nightly thread for now!
I am excited now to flash it! Plus your suggestion and said it is the most vanillaish rom avaliable .
Okay, so I have Rom Manager Preimum that is 3.0.0.7 and since I flashed it currently, so CWM is 2.5.1.2 .
and I need CWM 3.x?
Regarding CWM 3.x? theres ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5 and clockwork-3-20110116-MT4G.img .
Which one of the above CWM 3.x, is better to use? Also, they are in .img format, so how would I go about flashing it?
this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10670110&postcount=531
its using CWM 3.0.0.5 , is that a good method ?
And what happens to my current CWM 2.5.1.2? I already flashed it with that, do i need to "unflash" it ?
After that CWM, I use Titanium backup (i have pro version) to backup my apps + phone contacts right? I don't want to backup tmobile bloatware . I only the apps i paid for through android market.
And then, I download CM-7 and transfer it to my phone via usb cable to the sd card. Then use ROM Manager to flash it?!
thanks again!

well, Im running a Desire HD port (gorillaSense), so my rom has that feature, but I havent used CM7 in a little while. However, if you sync your contacts to google instead of t-mobile, youll have all of them no matter what rom you use, no matter if it has t-mobile contacts or sim card contacts or anything.
and yeah, the t-mobile rom is annoying, thats why I got off it as soon as I could and never looked back. Personally I prefer the Sense ROMs, but I can see the merits of the CM and AOSP ROMs too, its personal preference.

K, so i checked the settings on the contact application and you can only export your stored contacts to the SD card, you are able to import from SIM but not to export to SIM. Like the post above stated though, as long as you are on an android phone you will have your contacts synced
I joined the site about a year ago when I first got my TMobile G2 with the intent of modding it. Since I used it mainly for work, I decided to leave it alone and became a lurker since I didn't have much to offer (info wise). Recently I picked up a Nook Color, and after reading about several different mods, decided on Rack's Dual Boot.
Being a noob to Android Systems (but not to computers), I reread the directions a few times. When I got the gist of what to do, I ran through it with no issues. Turned out to be unbelievably easy. Many Thanks to Racks and everyone else that worked so hard to bring us this awesome information (as a side note F**K those douches that are selling cards on fleabay).
Now to the point; There are a couple of questions/issues I have that maybe someone can help with:
1. Occasionally, when I try and download apps from Play, I get an "error in processing purchase" message. When I power down, then boot back and flash the ICS gapps, everything is fine. I have tried clearing cache and data and get the same error message.
2. In CM7, the Nook Tweak App does absolute wonders for the volume of the crappy little speaker. Anything for ICS?
3. I have LG HBS700 Bluetooth Headphones. They work great in GB CM7, but nothing in ICS CM9.
4. Netflix works like a charm in GB CM7 but bogs and freezes in ICS CM9. Same for Youtube. I have downloaded Flash Player with same results.
5. Lastly, is there any way to get sound INTO the NC? That way I can use the Dolphin Voice Browser, Google Voice Search, etc.
Not big on flashing nightlies. Prefer to get system doing what I want and being stable, then sticking to it.
Many Thanks in advance - Mike
UPDATE:
#1 happened again, and reflashed GAPPS. Got the same error message again. Now, I can't download anything from Play Store in ICS CM9.

Sorry to hear ur having issues. Only suggestion I would have is to backup whatever apps you have on CM9 with Titanium Backup or any other app that is capable of doing so. Then download a more recent update of a DualbootSD CM9 from the techerrata server. Copy the zip over to the /sdcard partition of the DualbootSD rom and boot into the CWM that is included with the DualbootSD. Then go to "mounts & storage" and choose to format /system & /data then flash the update you just downloaded. That should fix whatever issues you are having with market.

No. The nook has no microphone and bluetooth Mike inputs don't work either. Sorry.
Thanks Leapinlar.
I pretty much already knew the answer to 5, but asked just in case anyone had gotten something to work.
The rest aren't horrible problems. Thanks to the dual boot card, I just reboot into CM7 to watch Netflix. And by the way, the range with my BT Headset is in feet not inches. I was pretty impressed for having no antenna.
The recent Play thing is a pain though. I will walk through your recommendation and get back.
Thanks - Mike
Attached is what I get with Netflix via ICS
Sorry
Meant my last to say "Thanks Racks and Leapinlars"

Hey Racks,
Okay, I downloaded the MIUI Updates for the Dual Boot Card and put them on the SD Card. I then booted to recovery and open chose zips from SD Card. Installed both GB and ICS Updates. Rebooted into ICS, and everything looked fine. Tried booting into GB and got a nice MIUI.us Boot Screen, then splash screen looks nice, and as soon as I unlock the device I get: "The application launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly" and the same with "media" and "acore"
I tried reflashing the old GAPPS, and nothing. My only two options are "FORCE CLOSE" and "REPORT TO MIUI"
Any suggestions?
Thanks Again - Mike
Okay, now I reflashed CM7 MIUI and can't boot into GB. Stuck at MIUI Boot Screen.
On the good news side; I can now download files from Google Play in ICS. WOW! If it's not one, it's the other. HAHAHA
Issues get fixed, and it's still better than the stock Nook Color.
Can I go back to standard Mirage CM7 and keep MIUI CM9, or is it "all or nothing?"
Thanks Again - Mike

UPDATE:
#1 happened again, and reflashed GAPPS. Got the same error message again. Now, I can't download anything from Play Store in ICS CM9.

Try going into Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All. Find the Google Playstore app. Clear cache. Playstore will then reload your apps when you start it next. If that doesn't work, clear cache and data. You'll have go through the registration process again, but it may work.
Thanks Shumash.
I finally got Google Play working after installing MIUI Update 03252012 (ICS). My big issue now is with CM7.
After doing the update, as soon as I do the unlock, I start getting error messages (see above). I can't get into anything. I can only reboot or turn off power.
I know I can go back to factory settings, reformat and setup the SD Card, and start all over with Mirage CM7 and CM9. Is there a shorter way? Ideally, I would like to revert MIUI CM7 back to the original Mirage, and leave it be (everything worked fine HAHAHA) until someone comes out with a stable HW accelerator, so I can have my Netflix and YouTube in ICS.
Thanks Again - Mike
Convert2Dualboot-SD Tool
Racks,
I've been using your triple-boot for a couple weeks (works great, by the way--thanks!), and I decided to try your Convert2Dualboot-SD Tool (mainly so that I could have ICS CM9 as my primary). Previously I've had Mirage CM7.2-RC1 from 3-23-2012 in primary and ICS CM9 non-OpenGL from 3-25-2012 in secondary. I downloaded everything, including your newest ICS CM9 non-OpenGL (the 5-1-2012 version), to the Nook, extracted, dropped the ICS CM9 zip into the rom-to-modify folder and the ICS gapps file into the gapps-to-modify folder, opened a terminal session and ran the Android script. Everything seems to have been created fine--the new files were in Primary-Mod. I then went into recovery, formatted system1 & data1, then flashed both the ICS CM9 zip and ICS gapps zip.
When I tried to boot into primary, nothing happened. I then booted into secondary and discovered that the secondary partition had been updated to the new ICS version (5-1-2012). It was flaky, so I went back into recovery and re-applied gapps (this time using the non-modified version). It seems to be working fine now, but is in the secondary partition. My primary is apparently currently empty because of the formatting.
So unless CM9 should never be placed in the primary partition, there seems to be a bug somewhere (at least in the Android version). I did see something in the script that appears to be a problem. Within the "ga" leg, it has this coding:
mv gapps_DualbootSD_alternate_${DATE}.zip ../Primary-Mod/gapps_DualbootSD_alternate_${DATE}.zip
I'm not a programmer, but having "Primary-Mod" intermixed with "alternate" would seem to be problematic. But since this is the "ga" leg, I don't know that this would have caused CM9 to be applied to the secondary partition instead of the primary, so there may be a problem somewhere else.
Do you know if anyone else has successfully applied your modded version of the CM9 rom to primary using the Android script? Or should the existing modded version only be placed in the secondary partition?
Thanks,
oldfolkie

Goodness! Gotta check my script! But that should have been moved to Alternate-Mod. But as in the appended filename. It should flash to alternate boot. Will correct on next update.
Regarding ur issue, you shouldnt be using my modded zips for conversion as it is already prepped specifically for Primary or Alternate boot.
The script is for converting standard .zips. like a regular nightly. Also note if ur flashing a new rom over default setup. It is recommended to format /system1, /data1 for primary & /system2, /data2 for alternate.
Thanks again for pointing out that error!

I figured the issue might be with using the modded zips, but I wasn't sure. Thanks!
Allright.. i decided to start using a custom rom, which will be CM9. but because of soo mutch information on this website i dont fully understand anymore what to do, and because im still a noob, i cant post in the original thread of CM9.
I have a Red lens Motorola Defy MB525, found out with catlog that i got the bayer camera module , non branded, stock froyo.
Rooted my defy
nandroid backup with 2nd init , made a copy to my laptop to be completely save.
did backup the apps with titanium backup
also have the app battery calibration so i can fix my battery after the custom rom.
i will write the custom rom when my battery is on atleast 50 percent, so it will not die.
So what do i have to do next?
download the correct ROM, it will come as a .zip
copy it to your sdcard, reboot to 2nd init recovery,
factory reset, and wipe dalvik cache from advanced menu.
then in recovery choose install zip from sdcard, choose your ROM.zip, install,
reboot, it will take pretty long until it boots first time because system is rebuilding the dalvik. (~5min)
Wow , thats sounds way more simple then i can find on this site.
Ill try it tommorow night! any further suggestions?
Maybe you should try multiboot first just to be on the safe side.
what is multiboot and how can i do that?
Multiboot is basically the possibility to have two or more different ROMs (e.g. CM7 and CM9) installed at the same time and when you boot up you can choose which ROM you want to use. But it is a bit complicated and it wouldn't work with stock Froyo as one of the ROMs I think.
More suggestions? You should also download the latest gapps from http://goo.im/gapps and put the zip on your sd card as well. After wiping and installing the CM9 Nightly from sd go to install zip from sd again and choose the gapps .zip. After that you can reboot the system.
The gapps are the Google Apps (i.e. Play Store and some more) and without them you can't even setup your Google Account, download apps, use Gmail etc.
Ah thanks for that! downloaded it and saved it to my desktop for now.
Still need to figure out which rom i need to choose.. the epsylon?

That would be good. Try it out and see if it suits your requirements..There are many ROM's for froyo kernel. You can try those and see which suits you best.
Happy Modding.
yeaaay! Thanks for all the great help, it worked perfect and was really easy to do!
Cant wait till all the apps are back on my phone from the backups that i made and then let the modding begin! haha
- running Epsylon CM9!

Congratulations, have fun with ICS on your Defy!
Questions go in the Q&A section
Hi. I have installed CM10.1 build 2013-04-13 (Last with CWM I think) and I want to downgrade to stock ROM to sell the phone, but if possible, I would like to do it without flashing SBF, so please tell me if this instructions are correct:
1) Restore Stock Nandroid
2) Download another superuser app
3) Uninstall /system built in superuser app
4) Uninstall the "another" superuser app (first un-freeze some Motoblur and de-AdAway) (no more root signs on the phone)
5) Enter Bootmenu, go to tools and uninstall bootmenu (I'm kinda scared on that one, I haven't seen anybody try on the forums, may leave it)
6) Factory Reset
I know it will probably leave things like SU binaries, cache files and things like that (I don't care) the rest will be fine? Is uninstall bootmenu safe? Which is the best way to get rid of SU apps, if it's not mine?
Thank you.
Clean install
I have a slightly different requirement.
I had Froyo two years ago, after which I upgraded to the nightlies from Quarx. I am about 1 or 2 nightlies older than the latest.
However my phone is extremely slow at most times and I would like to start from scratch.
I can backup my data and install all my apps from the playstore.
So, my question is what is the best way to go back to do a clean install of the latest 10.1 (4.1.x perhaps, since 4.2 is still experimental)?
I am using green lens defy (2 years old) and in need of a new battery as well. Current battery lasts 2 days with just a few phone calls and nothing else.
BUUUUMP
BUMP! Please someone answer
It's fine, though I would rather leave the boot menu alone and also would convert data to ext3 before restoring nandroid
To the other guy I would recommend flashing an sbf or wiping system+data+ cache from twrp recovery(if applicable) and then flash cm10
