I just ordered one of these. I figured for $19 it was worth it.
http://www.dailysteals.com/
Sale goes for another 7 hours 35 minutes as of this writing.
PS... I know this is supposed to go under "Accessories" But I wanted to post this where everyone can see this. There are actually more apps for this in the market then I thought there would be. Yes, I also a aware it is over a year old now but again for $19 I figured why not.
If anyone buys it and or has had it mind posting your thoughts on what you think of the Sony LiveView
what? is this even real? or just a scam? soooo cheap... suspicious
Had one when i first got my Play about a year ago! Handy for quickly checking your texts and calls! Never really used it much past that, as a lot of the add ons never seemed to work too well!
The other major problem was it disconecting! Some times would work for 4 hours! Other times would have to re-connect every 15 minutes! But for $19 bucks its a steal! Well worth it!

I have purchased from this DailySteals several times and its legitimate. I am guessing the reason for the cheap price is because there is the new Sony SmartWatch that replaced it. Thats why I am guessing there is the firesale on the LiveView watch.
I recently ordered a external battery charger for my gadgets and it was regularly about 89, got it from this site for about $50. Thing works great, love it. Now I'll be waiting for the LiveView to come in the mail
Please post a review of it when you receive it. I've read reviews and it is utter GARBAGE !
I will post my review on it here when I get it and have a couple days to play with it. I have read reviews bashing it for inconsistent connection issues, which have been resolved with a app call LiveView Manager Charm. And read others saying its great. But yes I will leave my review here.
Be advised that this sale of the LiveView ends in a matter of hours so if you want one you would need to get it sooner. And the price above @ 20 is half the price of what I have been seeing it at SlickDeals.net and many other deals sites. Just my 2 cents.
Just saw this.....
http://www.coolsmartphone.com/2012/01/31/sony-ericsson-liveview-is-not-dead-yet/
REMEMBER this is the LIveView not the Smartwatch!,
u can get the liveview for under 30$ from amazon, the specified 99$ are a joke!
Yes, I am aware this is the LiveView and NOT the Smart Watch. I have typically seen the LIveView for around 35-40 on Amazon. So the $20 new in box is a great price in my opinion
I bought one from there like two weeks ago, its not a scam
It says $14.99 for me. You guys are including shipping?
what about UK?
EDIT amazon UK has it for £22

mh the only difference i discovered till yet is the control of this device, the smartwatch got a touchscreen the liveview not, i also think that a view more apps are available for the smartwatch.
the battery lives longer then the battery of the liveview.
and the last difference i know is the look of the devices^^
I know I was saying that this had bad reviews but i've bought one myself I got it cheap though
Btw anyone know if the Liveview going to get a firmware update for the issues it has ?
yes, through the firmware update should the issue be gone

The giveaway took place in the C++/Game Developer panel, which discussed the use of native code in Android applications (games, in particular, are likely to use the NDK as opposed to standard Dalvik). And aside from winning some karma points from developers, Sony’s motivation for handing out the phones are pretty clear: give developers a phone that features the gamepad, and they’re much more likely to make sure their games work flawlessly with it.

Does anyone know if these are carrier unlocked and able to connect to Fastboot? I'm seeing a few popping up on eBay in the $500-$600 range and I think I'm going to take the plunge.
If they're from Sony then they're most likely unlocked phones. I can't imagine them going "here, have a phone, it only works on -network- though"
Thanks. That's what I was thinking.

Excuse me for my ignorant question but is it correct to assume that even though these Google I/O Xperia Play's are unlocked that it's only for SIM and you would still need to use Gingerbreak to get root access right?
I'm asking because I'm in the process of buying one so I want to know how much I need to tinker with it. I also assume I won't need to debrand it and that it is pretty stock no?

From what i could tell on eBay there were a couple CDMA phones.
As well the GSM ones all appear to be the exact same phone as the Canadian one R800a just unbranded so i'd guess root access would have to be done via gingerbreak, however as mine arrives monday i'll update if this is the case.

Lucky you, i ended up at $540 as my timing sux.
Awesome phone at crazy price. I also got the dock and it looks very good.
I got it on ebay for $450 (item number 120725728032) and add a 10% back in ebay bucks as I bought it before the IE9 + Window 7 8% bonus ebay bucks ended. Very sweet deal at $405 + $7 for almost overnight shipping. I think the seller didn't care for much profit and also he didn't mention R800a prominently to get attention.
It's not much thicker than X10 and is actually a little shorter. The four buttons it has should have been on Arc along with the front camera. Will be using it for a week or two before I pass it on to my son while I go back to my Arc.
I have one of these coming tomorrow (ebay, ~$500 shipped). Is there any difference in software compared to the Verizon model? Is it going to be primarily stock 2.3?
This may sound like a foolish question, but, considering these aren't widely available, does everyone think these will get proper updates from SE?
Has anyone gotten the verizon version of one of these phones? I was thinking about grabbing one on ebay before they disappear to use on my verizon account, but wanted to check ahead of time to see if the bootloader on the developer version would be unlockable. Can anyone confirm this?
New Atrix Lapdock for $50. This deal is only for today so head on over to grab one before they're gone.

Either that or they just didn't have many in stock -- I check 1saleaday daily, and there are some items that just tend to sell out really quickly, "hot" or not. Thankfully, since I check it daily (11:00 ritual...), I stumbled upon it early and was able to snag one.
Also, sometimes they re-run an item again a few weeks after first having it, if they ended up with some left in stock. There is a *slight* chance that they could have another run of them at some point.

I've never even heard of JUMP contracts so I did some checking out via Google. This looks like a great idea but I have a couple of questions for you please, sorry to hijack the thread (but it does bump it up again).
1) When you jump, does it reset the contract period back to the initial duration?
2) I take it the monthly price will be higher than a regular contract; is it much higher? As expected, the video focuses solely on the pros, rather than the cons of this type of contract.
The reason I am asking is that I am going into Phones4U today and this might be a good thing for me to get if it isn't laughably expensive. Thanks, and sorry again for the hijack.

Hey. No worries man. Not many people have to be honest!
1) This is something I need to check fully myself. Your contract with Vodafone for example stays the same and the handset one is reset to 24 months. Because they're separate contracts though, I'm not sure if the handset contract continues even after your service provider contract ends. I think it does. This is something I foolishly neglected to ask when I took it out! Sorry I can't be much help there.
2) Yes it is. You do have to pay a premium for the privilege unfortunately. It will cost more and the mins, texts and data won't be as good as you'd get without JUMP but for me it was a small trade off personally.
Note that your contract cost will go up every time you upgrade after 6 months. Unless, like me, you're able to pay towards the overall cost when you upgrade in order to bring it down. I'm going to put in around £100 to keep the bump to a minimum in monthly costs.
It's a good contract if you change phones every 6 months and don't mind the slight premium.
Also if you're wanting the HTC One on JUMP you won't have much luck right now as it isn't available and they don't know when it will be (some to them 20 mins ago). My patience is waning, getting restless now!
Perhaps it'll be available once the black version is released end of the month, though it's anyone's guess right now. Phones4u HQ don't even know apparently!
Hope this helps, sorry it isn't certain, but I'm only 6 months in myself so this will be by first experience of upgrading through JUMP.

It's going to be pretty hard to knock off my OnePlus 3t. I have it pretty dialed in and it's the fastest most energy efficient phone I've had by far. Same setup on my Nexus 6P and Note 5 have always got me an average SOT of 6-8. I thought that was really good...OnePlus averages 12 and Ive never seen it average under 10. I have hit 14 before a few times over a few loonngg boring 3 day weekends.
No mate 9 for me. My gut was right. The guy was a scam and swappa was extremely unhelpful. Took them forever to shut the guy down no matter how much evidence they had he was a scammer! Anyone know anyone who wants to do a story about how shady swappa is? I have so many screenshots and messages and saved web pages before they erased my messages. First and last time using swappa for sure

So the wrong phone arrived today it's the white one not the black one I ordered. Swappa wasted my time to verify everything with the numbers I provided. The help they gave me at the end was exactly the same as earlier. Contact PayPal! Thank you swappa what a great business. It shows me they are amateur and have no power to help anyone at all in any way other than tell people to contact PayPal. The last thing I want is a white phone OR to try and deal with PayPal again after the last 3 days of dealing with this.

So the wrong phone arrived today it's the white one not the black one I ordered. Swappa wasted my time to verify everything with the numbers I provided. The help they gave me at the end was exactly the same as earlier. Contact PayPal! Thank you swappa what a great business. That's extremely crappy. Swappa made a HUGE deal about me refunding the buyer of my old Note 7 despite the fact that he could have just swapped it out or tried to get a refund himself. They really need to get their act together and treat all cases the same. They should be the ones trying to make the seller do the right thing here...
