[Q] Restoring Stock 2.2 Backups from Aurora - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Is it possible to restore a nandroid (CWM) backup of the original 2.2 Stock firmware using CWM 5.5.0.4 and running Aurora 4?
Or do you have to first downgrade using an official Stock firmware?

you need to downgrade to official stock .32 and put the old recovery back on to restore any of those backups.

I would flash Oxygen plus the James Bond kernel...just as stable with stock but with extras.
adb shove iPad2post.apk to /forum/thread
Download the stock rom for your model from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056062
and flash by cwm or even stock recovery.

[Q]Kernel needed to restore Gingerbread nandroid backup

I have a nandroid backup of my Stock firmware which was 2.3.6
But two days ago, I flashed to Froyo using RSDLite so I could install MIUI
But even the pikachu edition didn't fix the battery bug so I decided to revert back to my nandroid backup but the phone wouldn't boot (which im guessing is because the phone was then on froyo kernel)
So I downloaded a gingerbread SBF from one of the threads here and flashed using RSDlite, and which turned out to be 2.3.4. This is giving me a lot of bugs(most of the apps don't open after few hours of usage). I still have my nandroid backup of my stock 2.3.6 ROM
So my question is:
Can I change my kernel to 2.3.6's version and restore my original nandroid backup?? If so can anyone please link me to the proper kernel
Thanks!
Try the Kernel from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494231
Thanks, but right now im on 2.3.4. So should i flash this kernel?

First, you need to have stock MJ9 firmware. Then download the update.zip and place it in the root(base) folder of your external sd card. then shutdown the phone and unplug it. Display and everything should be black. Now were going into Recovery Mode. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube btw. Press first Volume Up and hold it, then home and while youre holding this, press the power button. release the power button when the phone goes on but still hold the 2 other buttons till its in recovery-mode. then select "apply update from external storage" and choose the update.zip. The rest should explain by itself.

also like faryaab stated earlier in my dump, the thread cannot have the "[Official firmware]" tag, what you have is a repacked dump and an ota update package.

**[WITH LINKS]** Restore MK3 from NB2 firmware

For those who don't want CM11 or any custom ROM and want to restore XXUBMK3,
Follow these steps:
1. Flash the AMF7 or any other 4.1 STOCK firmware by ODIN to change the partitioning, and deleting the changes from new update.
2. Factory Reset the device from recovery.
3. Flash MK3 firmware, hence restoring phone to old firmware.
Tried on my phone, now fast as before...
EDIT
I had flashed AMF7 and then MK3 2 times
BNB2 > AMF7 > MK3 > AMF7 > MK3
to avoid any conflict, and it worked like a charm...

I can confirm this method works.
Three days ago when the firmware was released, the lag was so bad on upgrading not just on stock but AOSP had freezes as well. I reflashed the K3 several times but it only helped a little. Finally, I got tired and decided to downgrade to 4.1.2 and upgrade back to 4.2.2, and it works great since.
Thank you for sharing this, it was a much needed info to be posted.
That damn NB2 update made my grand laggy.

Try this Rahul, you wont have to go through all of that.
I rooted my Grand, installed Titanium app and took backup of Gallery and Touchwiz and uninstalled both of them. Before deleting these two, remember to download their alternatives, i installed Quickpic and Nova Launcher and everything is back to normal. BNB1 is working smoothly now.
