How do you guys boot to fastboot if you have turned your phone off? I mean the actual fastboot ("black Huawei logo") not the recovery and not the pink bootloader. I can get to it if I reboot my phone if I press reboot and then bootloader, but is it possible without it?
Seems like there is no other way. Right now I can start it in fastboot mode with "adb reboot bootloader" and the custom ROM I have on right now. If anyone wants details, post here.

Weird discovery I made. While trying to flashall it says the device is "swordfish"... If I flash system.img separately it says "no partition table exists". Anyone has used fastboot before?
Nice. With the new Android version, the product shows MSM7630_SURF. It now properly boots to fastboot without going to charging too, so thats an update.

Thanks! I was trying to set up my UDEV (51-android.rules) and your post helped me boot into the bootloader mode to get the right idVendor & idProduct codes.

I tried fastboot, but I just get a black screen with huawei logo. No any function, no adb connection, no menu entries or anything and no buttons work. And I can exit only by remove battery. Is this right?

There's an external tool called fastboot which handles that. There you can reboot or even continue the boot.
Fastboot is broken as far as I know, no partition table exists.

You mean the fastboot from adb tools which can used from command line? This cannot work because there isn' t adb connection on bootloader mode.
Or is another tool which can be flashed or something to device?

I think you are confusing pink screen with fastboot/bootloader. The fastboot is the node where it stays in the Huawei logo.
Sent from my U8800
No, I know the difference. I get this screen, but nothing else. On my previous device, fastboot has some functions included flash rom, reboot and some else that I don't remember. I also could from adb to use fastboot command.
On X5 I just get this screen.
Maybe they disabled that in B522 too, I am not sure. It was bugged anyway. I only tested it on B138 and B518.
Yes, I have 522 and I thought this too. I've tried on B138 1-2 times and was the same huawei logo screen only too. I didn' t tested it more because I thought that just this mode is disabled and used pink mode only. In B138 sould appear something else on screen, or only commands from adb work?
Hey, how about all I hope I can help revive my Iconia a500 ... since I work with her all day ... succeed in getting the bootloader ... and achieve to put the bootloader of ICS and all good ... up not because I happened to change the build.prop, after that time there is only pulled as if starting after the Acer logo ... try after Entering recovery mode and will not let me access ... When I try to put him the update.zip ... does not detect it shows me the following message (this message show me when I press the off button Volume + button under):
Bootloader version 0.03.11-ICS (custom model)
Booting Kernel Recovery Image "does not advance in this part for more than I want and try to full reset does not want, I want to help revive it please ..."
Whether you use the program EUUS with update.zip, there will be some solution?, Than you.
Espero your help.
Greetings ..!

How do I do that the fastboot?. I can provide the tutorial. Thank you for your answer.
I'm not sure how you can get into fastboot mode w/o booting into android first and using the "reboot bootloader" command.
But, you can boot into APX mode using the reset button, then use nvflash, just like you did when you loaded the custom bootloader. Reflash the bootloader and recovery, but use one of the recovery images posted in this post

if all else fails, use this:

It's something like press power on then play with unlock/lock/unlock and sound up pressed something like that...
(I can't remember the exact action but I got this mode on my second tablet last time I was trying to "wipe all" hard way, was rebooting every 10 - 30s...)
maybe try looking if there is something or that was just a pure fantasy from my mind lol
Hello,
I get an infinite bootloop with my phone, to boot it i did, fastboot reboot-bootloader and fastboot-continue. That worked fine, then i did a firmware update (i was on stock rom, but rooted), then my phone is still doing a bootlop, i tried everything but i now i am not able to detect it in fastboot, so i can't boot my phone in normal mode, and in recovery mode. The only things i get is fastboot but undetectable :/
I would like to know what to do for getting my phone resetted to a cyannogenmod rom.
Regards.
Check drivers... Than you 1st aid ( general forum thread )

solved accidentally. what i did was typed fastboot boot OP2_recovery .img (not in the fastboot mode but at the stuck boot logo mode). i don't know how the img went in but that was the way saved my opt from bricked. anyhow, thank you for the reply
Please help, I need proffessional help.
Android Phone: ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 (ROOTED)
Android Firmware: 5.0.2 Lollipop
Aim: To enter into Fastboot mode and Recovery Mode without problems
Situation: Recently installed TWRP Recovery in-app and through software, but when I try to enter in Fastboot Mode (HOLD POWER & VOLUMEUP) or even Recovery Mode (HOLD POWER & VOLUMEDOWN), I just end up in a hanged out ASUS Logo. I can't do anything except pulling out the battery myself and putting it back then booting the device through power button to boot it normally. I don't know if it's the problem with the model, or the phone's system itself, or it's just a bug, or a problem when I rooted my device through ADB.
(Note: When I rooted the device, I wasn't even able to see the blue "FASTBOOT MODE" when I tried it, I only saw the ASUS logo as well.)
For anyone who has any idea on what's going on with my device, please reply and help me. I really want to have the benefits of a rooted phone completly and I'm a new root user so I need assistance.
For anyone who has an idea on what I've done or on what should I do, please help me. Someone told me that I flashed the recovery and locked the bootloader, so it got damaged. If so, would Unlocking the Bootloader (from Wiki.CyanogenMod's Site) help my case?

I think I have "access" to TWRP recovery. However, I can only access it through booting it up from ADB. I used the command "adb reboot bootloader" to boot it to fastboot mode, however only the ASUS screen appears but I treated it as the fastboot mode itself. Then I checked if it was really on fastboot mode through "fastboot devices" and it showed my serial number. I can only enter into TWRP using "fastboot boot twrp.img" . I don't know if I already installed it because although I opened it, I can't do it from the phone (POWER+VOLUMEDOWN)
Ok now boot twrp and then flashamodified zip or cm13 and your phone should eork you dhould to have unlockrd bootloader
Hi to all, i'd re-open this 3d for the same problem. After months I'm trying to re-sleep my ZE500KL. It was in "can't load invalid boot image" loop. I tried to force recovery mode and (wrongly) force to update from update.zip the stock fw stored in the uSD.
Since this time I can't enter in recovery mode more but fastboot only. The problem is that, in spite of the USB drivers are installed, fastboot does not recognize any connected device.
I've run Win 10 pro with a zenbook ux333fn laptop and I remembered android 6 on the phone, the last time I saw it alive.
I've tried also to install twrp 3.1, with no positive results.
Anyone can suggest me any solving way?
Thanks to all

QFIL or AFT can be the solution.
I have a similar problem, a hard bricked Z00ED (ZE500KL) not able to get into fastboot or recovery.
after reading some thread here an there. that are Processor / Chipset specific flash tools that help flash bootloaders and repartition hard bricked device.
For mobiles with MediaTec devices, there is a tool called SP Flash Tool. I wasted a whole day with it. then understood that Z00ED (ZE500KL) has a Qualcomm Processor MSM8916
Therefore we need a Qualcomm Flasher here (QFIL )
But nos I am stuck with getting firmware for ZE500KL that can be used by QFIL tool, It should have a firehouse*.mbr file that is the programmer (dependent on CPU of the phone) and a rawprogram*.hex file that I don't know where to get from.
Thanks... It seems a bit less wild, but in any case no solving, yet
Up! ...anyone?

Hi everyone, i have an Oneplus 8 pro BA european one.
I was in 10.5.6 rooted and with xXx rom 11.0
I did this to install 10.5.8 update:
Before all Disable all magisk modules
- Update the Rom: settings> System> System upgrade. WITHOUT REBOOT;
- Open Magisk Manager;
- In Magisk Manager, click on Install/Install/Direct Install;
- Again in Magisk Manager, click on Install/Install/Inactive Slot;
- Reboot.
After reboot magisk seems to be unnistalled:
https://ibb.co/55hJjwH
And also i cant enter into bootloader, i tried first selecting bootloader mode after pressing power buttom,
but in enters in recovery mode not bootloader mode. Then i tried to use ADB commands, adb reboot bootloder. It goes
into recovery again. Finally i tried to select bootloader mode in the recovery, but nothing...
Any idea?

Hm...I'm in a similar constellation, after update to 10.5.8 I lost magisk and so root. Somehow the extraction of 10.5.8's boot.img and conversion into magisk_patched.img didn't help me regain boot, but ends in crashdump. But from here, I always can get back to bootloader with long pressing vol+ and power, when screen turns black let go both buttons and immediately press vol- and power which brings me back to recovery, from here into bootloader. reflash stock boot.img and I'm fine, but still no root, of course.
ok now, did you try to simply reflash 10.5.8 from settings/system/systemupdate/local upgrade? :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

You are getting in to bootloader , I saw some discussion on the how to root without twrp thread , go check there people are having same issue and I think it works for a dude there and mentioned how he did so :good:
I'm having the same problem. After trying this I get into the CrashDump Mode and can't get out no matter what. Tried to get into the recovery to get fastboot or something but it brings me back to CrashDump Mode. Anybody know how to fix this? kind of don't want a brick here with me... Thanks in advance!

I can get into fastboot actually by holding both volume buttons but as soon as I try to get into recovery the screen stays black and my PC says USB device not recognized. I flashed the stock boot image from 10.5.6 but it didn't work as it just goes back to CrashDump Mode...

try flashing the stock boot.img to both slots ... fastboot set_active (slot), do this for each slot. then fastboot flash boot boot.img (in my case it doesn't matter which slot is set active, my OP8pro does boot anyway). then fastboot boot boot.img. good luck:fingers-crossed:
