Touch screen not responding - Wildfire General

Hey,
I've tried rooting and flashing a new rom on a wildfire device. All was fine until the downgrade to Eclair, which caused the screen not to respond anymore, meaning I couldn't put the phone into debug mode and install CWM recovery.
I've check several threads and used a RUU to restore the phone to a newer version - this is not help at all (and also relocked the bootloader).
After several hours of work I've return to step one, with a non-functioning phone.
Please help.

I've managed to salvaged to device by using the buzzdowngrade step1.bat, and than running the RUU - the proccessed finished successfuly, and the touch functionality restored.

It happened to me also. Install this ROM and everything will go fine.My touchscreen was stucked too.

Titan flash fail. Need recover instructions

Hi, had a problem flashing my bro in law's Titan.
I unlocked the titan with the titan unlocker by Olipro and flashed with the round 4 reloaded (loaded) rom (dcd 3.2.6)
unlocked fine, installed the rom to 100% rebooted phone and its stuck on the Bell screen. (its after the HTC screen and after the screen that shows versions, which it does show D. version 3.2.6) any ideas how to get it to where i can flash it again?
Does it have a compatible v3.x radio installed as well? I recommend 3.42.40 personally, but just about any v3.x radio will work.

Ok, solved the problem by pressing the power button, camera button and reset button all at the same time. This of course enabled the bootloader on the phone. installed another rom which gave me the same result, stuck at carrier screen. This is of course because i didnt know i had to upgrade the radio first. Got the phone running again by updating the rom with the one at the HTC website for my carrier.
Now i'm trying to update the radio. there isnt alot of instruction out there, but i did find this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Radio only upgrade instructions Although after following the instructions, the universal rom upgrade tool never connects to my phone. I tried the vista fix here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313001 But being that its over 2 years old, i'm guessing its now useless as when i try to update with the files there my OS says my drivers are more current and wont allow me to install them.
So now i'm stuck at the "how to upgrade my titan's radio" stage. Anyone have better instructions? (or can tell me what i'm doing wrong?
what i've done
downloaded radio version 3.42.40 as BTC suggested
downloaded "universalRUU" and extracted it to its own folder
copied the radio's file "TITAIMG.nbh" into the UniversalRUU folder
reset my phone into the bootloader screen
ran the ROMUpgradeUt.exe from the UniversalRUU folder
pressed "next"
it says "checking information on your device" and hangs there forever.
if i press update anyway, it continues to the last screen where i can press "finish" and thats it. nothing happens. which part am i missing? the phone is DEFINATLY connected to windows at that point, so it should be able to detect it, but it doesnt seem like it even tries as there is no system pausing or stuttering like it might be trying to do something.
thanks for the help so far.
Solved the problem on my own, as well as the other couple problems i ran into.
Updated the Titan WIKI to reflect my solutions and clarify some key points.

HTC HERO contiunally restarts after Modaco rom install.

Ok here is a step by step of what happend.
I bought a unlocked HTC Hero originally T-mobile branded.
I followed the instructions on Unlockr to Root the phone.
I then downloaded the 2.3 Modaco rom and flashed it to the phone exactly as described by Unlocker. HOWEVER as suggested (strongly) on the Modaco post in these forums I did not do a nandroid backup of the original HTC(t-mobile) rom on the phone.
When i restarted the phone it simply goes from the power up screen, to the HTC screen, then to the Tmobile branded screen then to a black screen the restarts. During this cycle no buttons work. If i take the battery out and turn the phone on I can get to recovery etc.
How can I either install the rom correctly or bring it back to how it was or in any way make the phone usable again.
I hope you can help. I'm overseas with no money so I can't afford to have wasted this, im about to cry(figuratively not literally haha).
Well I figured it out all by myself!
Need to boot into recovery mode. Plug in via usb.
Follow instructions to get adb working.
Use the cmd interface to push a new update.zip file to the phone
From the phone, in recovery, flash the new update.zip to replace the corrupted one that was causing the repeated restarts.

Blackstone Busted?

Guys,
I have an interesting issue that I hope someone can help me resolve. I recently upgraded the rom on my blackstone, and it appeared sucessfull, at first. A few hours later, it looked like the phone had done its normal "screen blank" from non use, however, i could not get the display to return.
I have done everything I can think of to recover from this - removed the battery for DAYS at a time, replaced the battery with a new one, etc..
If I power up the phone, I can use the pocket Controller-Pro s/w to see the device, but i can not see the display on the device itself.
I think I need to restore the FACTORY boot loader and rom, but I am having problems finding a method.
Any Advice?

Personally I would try and get it into bootloader and flash back stock rom, but as you only have a black screen you can only guess its in bootloader. Either turn on device whilst holding vol down or let phone boot up and use SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.exe to force it into bootloader. Then restore stock SPL and stock rom. When phone is connected to pc via usb you'll know it's flashing by watching flash % on pc screen

Thanks. Does anyone remember/have a link to the "factory" spl? I have the stock rom for the phone, but im not sure about the spl.
Kind of a noob question but, does SSPL-Manual-TouchHD.exe work with other versions of HTC phones? I ask because while I have a Jade clone, I will soon be upgrading to a Blackstone clone.

You don't actually need to go back to original SPL, just to a stock one, i.e. latest 1.54.0000 would suffice
Read bottom of first post in this thread. Stock SPL's can also be found in first post

Unbrick Tmobile Hero :(

My friend asked me to try recovering his T-mobile DE Hero, it was bricked while my friend was trying to root it
I tried to flash official rom, but RUU gets error 170...
This what appears on screen when device is on:
error 170... thats the usb connection error right?
this could be because the drivers are not installed properly.
read this thread, then try again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=647353
Although error 170 is indeed USB error, (with windows 7 normally) the nasty looking Icon at the bottom of the screen does not look good, never seen that before
Let us know how you get on please
I had the same error with mine.
I ended up in installing a custom ROM, since NOTHING would work. No drivers no nothing. It just refused to read the phone.
I installed VillainROM 12, it has OS 2.1 so it's working perfectly
I had the same problem, but I was trying to flash my German G2 using an HTC Official RUU. I've been able to flash the recovery rom using fastboot and then boot it, but that's where my progress has ended. I'm about to flash VillainROM12.0.0-Full and see what happens. I'll let you know.
EDIT: VillainROM12 installed via AmonRa Recovery menu, but rebooting takes me right back to the RUU screen with an Xed-out EPROM
Nothing helped
I tried everything You said, but device is showing same screen, I also tried using SD card method but when I turn Hero on (while holding Vol-) same screen appears
Does anyone have any other idea what to do?
Its looking like a problem with a radio (drivers etc). Try to update it through recovery if u can enter there.
You can see in my first post the only screen where I can enter...
Well.. This icon with a "chip" probably say a SPL or Radio of phone is just f***ed up.. :/ You can enter to fastboot so drivers of graphics and other modules are in good condition..
wheeeler i think u should find a .zip with a official SPL and radio and update it through recovery like u did it with Villain ROM
I got some idea but I think u tried it before.
iwanrakic U can connect to phone via SDK?
Try this command. It should update it.
C:\sdk\tools>fastboot flash radio radio.img
Of course u need image of official radio.
What driver does Windows report installed when you plug it into your PC in that mode?

[Q] HD2 cannot turn on...

hi there, im new here and ive been searching on the forum for a long time, but i didnt see any solution for my problem... (or maybe i was blind) so when i was trying to flash back original ROM from bootloader screen through USB, it didnt show my current image version info on the screen, but it did show the image version that im going to upgrade... however, i still let it updated and it said its succeed. but when my phone going to reboot, it stuck on the "stick together" screen... btw, my phone is PB81120 SS-B3 SPL-2.08. HSPL 8G XE. hope someone can help me solve my problem... thanks first :]
Go into bootloader again and connect the device to your PC via usb (should show USB at the the bottom in bootloader) and run the Rom Update Utility again. But first make sure the ROM is compatible with TmoUS Hd2.
I would recommend flashing stock from the bootloader just to be safe.
but i was trying to install T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_2.13.531.1 under bootloader, and it still the same... :[
Was that what you origonally tried updating to? Or was it a custom rom you had tried?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
that was the latest i tried to updating to, or any different kinds of version of original ROMs... before, i tried to update a custom ROM on it first, but it failed :[ actually, when i first got my phone it was unlocked, so while i was waiting to get the unlock code for it, i decided to install android on it... later on i had successfuly putting android on it, and by that time i got my unlock code too. then i typed it in and my phone just reboot and stuck on the "stick together" screen till now... so i started to look through the forum and found out that most ppl said is to reflash the ROM back to the original one first, and then everything would be alright... but i guess it didnt work on my phone D:
Have you tried a hard reset? (Hold both volume buttons while booting)
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
yeah... i tried everything :[
hi,
don't worry, your problem is resolvable. (as long as you see something on screen, you are lucky.)
1) When the stick together screen comes, do you see any numbers on left bottom after waiting for some time say 1 min.
if yes, then your problem is missing OS image only.
in this case, take out the battery. after that, keep volume down pressed all the time and insert battery again. press power button, if mobile does not start immediately. please keep volume down button pressed till the time tricolor screen does not come on. after that connect cable to computer and update normally.
2) If you don't see any number, it may mean multiple things, which all are resolvable. (most likely bootloader stuck in another mode.)
in any case, try steps in given in 1 and report back. before reporting back please install mtty on your computer as it is needed to send commands to mobile to get out of this mode.
