when i use RUU it comes up with this error and stops at 4% of the instalation.
when i try to flash the .nbh (any) file from the phone by holding the camera button when turning on, Herald freezes on the tricolor (red green blue) screen. it says.

Which ROMs have you tried? Some ROMs can only be flashed from an SD card because even the HardSPL requires at least 50mb (51200kb) to flash through ActiveSync.
be happy... when it shows 4.70.yang....
you can flash any rom.... but not one with wrong size..

I had the same problem when i tried flashing a rom with herald uspl when it was actually supposed to be installed on sd. If it is meant to be installed by sd you need to fat 32 format your sd card and put nothing but the .nbh file on there, put it in your phone and then hold down the camera button and use your stylus to push the soft reset while still holding the cam button. It should then recognize the rom and you will be able to start flashing. If it just sits at the bootloader screen (rainbow screen) dont freak out just reset your device again, if that happens you may have a corrupt file.
Was this rom by chance open touch 4.0 micro? Because I had that problem also and I cannot figure it out.
I've tried Just2Clean and Open Touch v4.0 WM 6.1 both thru RUU and from SD card. had no luck in both cases. i really wanna have J2C tho.

J2C has to be done through the SD card. Like armyboi4id said, fFormat the card to FAT32, place the HERAIMG.nbh on the SD card, press and hold the camera button and then press the soft reset with the stylus. When it comes up to press something to flash, press the volume down key. And just wait until it says that it's done.
ok, i've got J2C image on the sd card and nothing else. it is fat32, i press the camera button, reset it, then the tricolor screen. and that is it.
now i got two questions jsut to be sure. when do i release the camera button? and how long do i have to wait before the tricolor screen changes to anything else?

what's the correct size?
release the camera button when the bootloader comes up. it should recognize the sd card and .nbh almost immediately and go to a white screen.
Just hold the camera button until you see it saying "reading."

The correct size is 50mb (51200kb) as I said.
aight, i reverted back to shipped wm6 and then flashed Open Touch 4.0 without Hard SPLing the device and it worked. maybe i wasnt supposed to hardspl it in the first place lol.

I was trying to upgrade my ROM to windows 6.1, and something wrong happened.
the update software hangs up on 0% also in my phone, form more than hour.
then I unplug the USB cable, and connect it again, the wizard told me that process will be resumed, but the same for more than hour and nothing happened when i reconnect it again it gives me error connecting
now my device is no longer working, it just give me a colored screen and nothing happened.
is there is anyway to fix my phone.
Is there anybody ? any idea ??

I tried this method but it didn't work.
first i get the SD card and format it using windows (i tried both FAT, FAT32)
then extract the .nbh file from this package RUU_Elf_DOPOD_AU_1.14.710.2_4.1.13.46_02.97.90_BLUE_Ship.exe,
then i renamed it to ELF0IMG.nbh copied it to the root of SD card, then put the SD card in my device,
push and hold camera button and push the power button then the colored screen appeared but nothing happened. i tried also press and hold camera button then soft reset using stylus but it didn't work.
am i doing something wrong

After freezing my device I tried to open but not opened then I tried to make soft reset again it didnt open then I tried hard reset but the normal menu didnt come instead the menu which is attached appear and telling something serial but not doing hard set now I dont know what I must do Please help

Thats your bootloader.....
to do a hard reset its...
hold down volume up and volume down
tap and release power
keep holding both volume buttons down....
I think whats happening is that your only holding the volume down.
Try taking your battery cover off to get a better press and making sure that up and down are held, then tap the power button.........

nothing only I have re install sprite and rim backups (whic I had before) it started normally and while working freezed I closed and not opened it is staying and wait at (HTC guietly brillant ) stage

try uninstalling actvesync from your pc...... then reinstalling it

My friend, if the phone starts at all you definitely should be able to do HARD RESET.
You are probably not doing well the hard reset. You cannot destroy bootloader with backup programs.
You should :
-hold pressed volume up and volume down buttons
-tap and release power button
-keep holding both volume buttons down for several more seconds until three color screen appears and shortly after that a message will appear on lite blue screen. Then release both volume buttons. Then press volume up button, usually it is necessary to press it once again. System restoring bar will begin to raise up to 100%. After that pres again volume up and system will restart.
By the way your initial rom is 1.66 but on the pictures is 1.48. So you did pictures after you flashed it. Also noted that you have flashed HSPL.
Suggest to download your initial original rom and install it from the memory card. Not sure but may be downgrade of the rom is not possible from 1.66 to 1.44.

I can get the bootloader but it keeps showing "serial" even after connecting it to to the computer.
the "usb" does not come and i cannot update the rom
currently i'm using hyperdroid GBX v11 which is working fine (just one problem that it shows blank screen after a call ends and no display till another call comes) please help

Reinstall activesync.

If you are 100% sure your stock rom is correct. rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.NBH, put it on the root of your SD card, and boot into bootloader, it will flash.
IF YOU ARE UNSURE IF YOUR STOCK IS CORRECT POST HERE FIRST OR YOU MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE,
better to look noob than to brick, there are too many versions of this phone to mess around here.

When you say it wont boot do you mean you can power it on but it wont get past the splash screen? Or it just streight up wont power on?
Same as he said.. Does it power on? Power = good. Somtimes units will only power on when plugged into usb / charger. If this is the case, when it boots up go into boot rom by pressing vol down and reset in the back. When the tri color screen loads and says USB. Flash to a official rom such as the tmobile one.
man if you instaled 1.66 he is bricked i did the same with mine a big f mistake , but i fix it with cost , but is very hard to find service that will fix it , it just need a resurection ... if you still have the phone contact me. maybe i can help

Yours is totally different problem, and you should try flashing stock rom from sd.

Take a image from the original ROM Say Vodafone, T-Mobile (your operator)
Extract the file, for me it is : "RUU_Leo_Vodafone_NL_1.72.172.0_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship"
Use Winrar to extract this file : RUU_signed.nbh maybe called different but look for the biggest file extracted.
I hope you have a MicroSD
Rename
RUU_signed.nbh to leoimg.nbh put it on the MicroSD card
Put the MicroSD in the Phone,
Press down the Volume (left side) like you want less sound out of your phone
Press same time the Power On button hold it down until you see a bootloader
Now your ready to reflash original rom from the MicroSD
use HSPL 2.08 to load the not branded roms to the divice
Hope it works,
When you have Power in the phone then it wil work for sure

i cant say for certain whether yours is the same as the situation i had, but my original hd2 wouldnt boot and would only show a white screen with the green HTC and none of the rom/radio info in red in the bottom corner..it ended up being toast and had to be replaced under warrenty. not saying yours is, but thats what happened with mine.

Wrong rom? Probably - wrong radio... Congrats! You bought a nice paperweight.
I had the same a week ago. I had my phone for just 2 hours, then it suddenly stopped working when I restarted it. My HD2 wouldn't boot and did only show the white screen with HTC logo. I tried to do a hard/soft reset, and I even updated the rom, but nothing worked. I't happened because I was removing a app in the Windows Mobile Device centre and it crashed. My phone is now in repair.

Had the same prob with op and kept sticking at white logo htc and didn't progress any further. Just do that guide and phone will return back to normal.

Download from HTC site the original ROM from you phone using the serila number under the battery. Unzip it in some directory. Rename the file RUU_signed.nbh to LEOIMG.nbh. Put the SD card from your phone in the computer, format it to FAT32 and copy LEOIMG.nbh file to the rot directory of SD card. Put the card back in phone (phone should be switched off). Then put phone in boot loader: push and hold VOLUME DOWN button and push for short the POWER button, keep holding VOLUME DOWN button until bootloader starts (4 colors screen). Follow the instructions on screen. The phone will be flashed with the original SPL, ROM & Radio from the file LEOIMG.nbh on SD card.
After that it should work normally. After flashing perform hard reset.
Note that battery should be well charged before flashing.
If above does not work your phone probably has hardware defect which could be rectified only in service by changing of some PCB inside. I had similar problem but not related to flashing and service changed power PCB (on warranty).

You know - English is not my native so can you please be more specific - what do you mean by emulr - emulator or anything else?
Anyway - open the battery rear cover, find the Reset (bottom left), press and hold Volume down and push reset with a stylus or pen or whatever, holding Volume down. It will try to enter to bootloader mode. Do not release Volume down until the three-color picture will appear on screen.
Read what you see and write down here....
Sorry I made an error. I would say emule ,the filesharing program
If you can see the HTC logo your device isn't bricked.
This means that SPL is still alive and working. You only need to enter bootloader mode and flash a FULL RUU.

When I first started reading posts in this thread i thought you had some hope, but now, your device is officially bricked
Send it in for repair, even without warranty . You have to, unless you know how to fix it. Sorry
