hi guys,
I recently bought a Dell XCD 35 which is known to be Euro blade with 512MB ram. but the one which I bought has only 166MB ram as shown by taskmanager(its the total ram not available ram) and has a baseband no: P729B01
but Blade checker app detected it as a chinese blade and TPT helper app also detected the same.
Since in all forum it says that this device is a euro blade I tried TPT to unlock the RAM but it just shows:
T-Flash ....
error
error
error
error
in green colour
I checked MD5sum and also tried different TPT but none worked..
I installed Swedish Spring RLS7 and now its baseband changed to P729VB01
and still everything says that its Chinese blade..
its very confusing for me..
is it really chinese? is there any real way to check it? i mean the baseband says its euro version but every app says its chinese..
and why does these TPTs show this error.. I mean, even if it is chinese the TPT should flash the device and brick it as far i know(correct me if i am wrong).
Is there any way i can get the TPT to work and before that check if its really chinese variant or not?
Thanks in advance
PS: its a gen 2 device and came with froyo
i have an idea blade which has the same baseband(P729B01)
it has 256 mb of ram but the zte customer care says it has 512 mb out of which half is locked.
PLEASE HELP me to unlock the rest of the ram.
->Mahesh
You can try Windows flashing as it works if you get this tpt error.

Yes. First, you will have to flash the dell logo and then the ROM.
I'll provide a link to the dell logo in some time.

Mist important thing is flashing the proper stock ROM and the logo. Remember, flash the logo first followed by the ROM.
I've no idea about their reply. Maybe its better if you contact Customer Care first and then ask them about complaining online.

if you want to get replacement then you have to brick your phone by deleting the initiation scripts and system partition and it would not boot at all!then go to dell service cenre to get it replaced.this worked for me.

you should go to the i5500 section and ask there. tell them what exact firmware you flashed from samfirmware. It's much more likely you'll get a more specific solution there (rather than a generic one here)

Hi
What do you mean?
Flash the same way as we flash roms?
Coz I would be in download mode, so how come can I have apps running?
Even I need i5801 during boot, as I dropped my cell in water, its working fine now but I can't hear during a call or play a song (I mean things are not audible & so I need to contact Samsung care center) so need either ddjp2 wid bootloader or the file you provided.
Thanks in advanced.

Can I flash only the wanted portions of a rom after removing the rest using 'total commander' always.
Hi Guys,
I havent used this site in years but recently I bought a Galaxy S4 outright from JBHIFI.
Before you guys give me alot of crap, I have a very bad feeling that I may have hard bricked it.
It doesnt turn on anymore, not even in recovery or download mode. I am very new to android as I was using an iPhone before and couldn't resist attempting to root my phone (stock program were killing my battery)
I hadn't even had the chance to flash a custom rom on there as far as i know i just grated root access.
Funny thing is it was doing the same thing the other day. But randomly it decided to charge and turn on. Now it is definitely not charging or turning on and i have no idea what to do... it just sucks cause i havent ever this phone for a month and its already useless! :crying:
I was using it for about a week after i rooted and now im just stuck with a brick.
Any help would greatly be appreciated, feel free to ask any questions.

sorry... is that just taking the battery out? LOL if so, yes ive tried it quite a few times.
at one stage it was turning on but only loading the splash screen... so i pulled the battery out. even if i tried to start it in recovery mode, it would only load the blue text at the top of the screen and then freeze.
i have a mate who also got an s4 so i was going to meet up with them and see if i could use their battery because it seems the phone has even lost its capability to charge.

No, you don't have to be in download mode. Install right driver, connect your phone to pc and run the program. Then it will be in download mode, so flash firmware with pit file

well so far... i tried this at work and no luck, so i went home and tried it there... still no luck.
you mentioned i need to install the right driver? is that the QHSUSB drivers? (where can i find them and are they specific for the S4) anyway when i plug my phone into the computer there is no indication that it is being detected at all.
just hoping to try out more suggested solutions before i attempt to take it back into the store and have em tell me that my warranty is cooked

Somehow I doubt that they didn't test the camera after replacing it.

My galaxy S4 is "hard bricked" as well after trying to flash OMEGA ROM onto the device. My guess is that somebody mislabeled the ROM and it was intended for the octal-core processors and not the US quad-core ones.
Does anyone have a link for the qualcomm drivers that are needed? I'm at a loss currently in regards of which direction to take.
Thanks in advance,

i know... its just frustrating... i pretty much got it when it came out and convinced all my mates that it was the best phone out there at the moment (all the features are pretty nifty and its powerful ill admit)
funny thing was the camera was working perfectly before i took it in and didnt even think it needed replacing. the camera worked when i got it back the first time i opened the app but it had smearing (pink vertical lines on bright objects). after that it the app didnt open again and just has the "camera app failed" error.
as for the hardbrick guys i think the qualcomm drivers work but only if you can get your phone to turn on or enter d/l mode. mine was so fried out that it wouldnt show any signs of life even after getting the drivers.

This was also samersh72's suggestion when i bricked mine. Problem is, there was no way for me to acces that qhusb mode thing as the phone was totally dead and doesn't even charge.
Jtag could probably revive it though.
Anyway, sent mine for repairs with
custom binary status and the samsung guys accepted it as there was no way for them to revive the phone(the motherboard was replaced). They didn't found out that it was modified.

Yes, mate! I actually using no bloatware app to
Remove those many apps that actually safe to remove
But the boot loop when we turn off the phone ourselves
and when turn it back, it stuck seems no way to pass samsung logo. Maybe I underclocked the phone and it causing the phone to fail to boot past?? I am right or not

No you don't have to its already unlocked
Unlike sony
Just flash a kernel with all the feature u need and done
Infact there is a kernel with all that feature called perseus but still on alpha and some bugs are there have to wait for some more days that will be one of the best kernel

Ohh thanks, I will be patient no problem good news
That Samsung phones are comes with unlocked
boot loader, very good
Yeah its pretty hard to modify Sony you need to
unlock bootloader first before using other kernels
That process caused my little old device hard brick one time.
and thats why I am afraid with my new S4 although they are different device

Yeah, very hard process, but I hope its easy in my S4 since it was factory unlocked
and I can install whatever with confidence. .
because now I know the basic how to use odin
And flash and use recovery.
Thanks for your help for teaching me.
It's there's any case of possible hard brick in S4?

Yeah, thanks mate I will research for more.
First of all I need to root again.
Thanks.
Bootloops are mainly caused by system files interfering with each others which cause instability and/or crash at the boot sequence. :good:

Hi, The you find the solution because i have the same problem, please help me
Dear all
I just have a big problem that I still cannot solve by myselft and all the things I searched on Internet
I downloaded the Android 4.3 stock rom from Google dev site. Then, I tried to install it by Google Nexus Toolkit 1.6.4 but it was not successful
( Perhaps the universal driver is not fully compatible with Windows 8, I often have this problem on Windows 8 )
Then I changed to use Google Nexus 7 Toolkit v5.0.0 and flash the stock ROM
This tool could do a little bit further. It extracted, deleted user data, send file to machine but after that, it flashed unsuccessfully
The screen is still in bootloader mode. So I decided to press Start to check whether the ROM had been installed successfully or not
And it said boot failed
I turned off the device and then couldn't turn it on till now. I plugged into laptop and it said lacking of APX driver.
I searched and know that this is a mode only for NVIDIA processor devices
I tried so many ways on Internet to turn it on, but still cannot
So can you help me wake it up ?
Thank you so much
Sorry for bad English

Not completely sure, but I have seen this before, I think you got the bootloader corrupted somehow.

As per now... you are stuck in APX mode. No solution for that in the Nexus 7 device. Asus cover that in warranty, you´ll have to go that way... It happened the same to me.

Hey, the same with me, after trying to update to android 4.3 with nexus root tool kit 1.64.
In this case the bootloader was deleted. Waiting for the feedback of asus....
Based upon this evidence I suggest you don't use a tool kit to flash 4.3 and do it manually

I'm not an expert but I would say there is no way for them to know at this point. So yes, you are covered. They need to completely wipe the device to get it back to life. This is something that happened to people updating OTAs as well, so it's not an uncommon issue.

Hi,
How your Nexus been? I've just received the Nexus 7 with new mainboard replaced and... no fees. So happy!!!
Now it's time to sell it, get the new nexus 7, and expect it not to be that easy to brick. XD

But I have been waiting for whole week
Actually, I don't have dual monitor system so I often use my tablet as ebook reader to read instruction while coding
Tried to update Nexus 7 4.2.2 rooted with Nexus Toolkit too..but got stuck at a APX mode Nexus 7.
Nothing could revive it, so had to send to Asus for warranty claim
They changed a new motherboard and all is well now.....with 4.3..but wifi reception still sucks
