Model no appears as GT-I5500L in place of GT-I5503 - Galaxy 3 General

Can any one please help me with galaxy 5 forum for india. I upgraded my GT-I5503 to froyo using firmwre from samfirmware it works fine and i feel its faster now but now it shows the phone model no as GT-I5500L. If anyone can help me geting back my original phone model no in froyo os. Also sometime (4 times in last 1 month) my screen background turns pink in colour and when i power off the phone and power on it gets sorted out.
Any help is highly appriciated.

u can't change ur model no. unless u flash ur cell by any i5503 rom..!! but if ur boot loader is showing GT-i5500L then there is solution to change the bootloader to GT-i5503..!!

Thanx for your reply.
Can you please help me changing my mobile model no in boot loader. Also if froyo firmware for my phone model GT-I5503 is realesed as i searched a lot but could not find.

you should go to the i5500 section and ask there. tell them what exact firmware you flashed from samfirmware. It's much more likely you'll get a more specific solution there (rather than a generic one here)

[Q] Rooting changed Model No

Hi All,
I have bought Samsung Galaxy 3 5 months back... the model no is GT-I5801. I did rooting to upgrade from Android 2.1 to 2.2 but the model no got changed to GT-I5800. Now my phone is dead slow... battery also got drained soon.
I really frustrated by using this change.
Can you anyone please help on this how to rollback all these things.

Hi
What do you mean?
Flash the same way as we flash roms?
Coz I would be in download mode, so how come can I have apps running?
Even I need i5801 during boot, as I dropped my cell in water, its working fine now but I can't hear during a call or play a song (I mean things are not audible & so I need to contact Samsung care center) so need either ddjp2 wid bootloader or the file you provided.
Thanks in advanced.

Incoming calls not working on Note.

Okay, so its been a week since I got a Galaxy Note...
I haven't rooted or anything and its running no the firmware is "XXKL3" and baseband is "N7000DDKL1"...
The phone was working completely fine until today morning, whenever someone calls he gets "The number you have dialed is out of coverage area"....
While out going calls work perfectly fine.
So I removed the SIM and put in Vodafone SIM which worked fine in Note....
Then I put the non-working IDEA SIM into another phone and it was working fine too....
Then I put the IDEA SIM back in the Note and I once again had the same problem.
I tried a hard reset from recovery but that didn't work either
Has anyone experienced the same problem?
Any solutions?
On a side note if nothing works out I am planning to flash the phone but the HotFile link for "N7000ODDLA1" is not giving me speeds more than 30 KB/s.... -_-
So, has anyone mirrored the firmware to another file hosting site?
If yes, can someone provide me the link?
If vodafone works n idea not working, means service conflict is there. Check call setting.
Latest version is ddlb2
Go to dev section n find my thread n7000 stock roms, it is sticky thread.

[Q] Dell xcd35 issue

hi guys,
I recently bought a Dell XCD 35 which is known to be Euro blade with 512MB ram. but the one which I bought has only 166MB ram as shown by taskmanager(its the total ram not available ram) and has a baseband no: P729B01
but Blade checker app detected it as a chinese blade and TPT helper app also detected the same.
Since in all forum it says that this device is a euro blade I tried TPT to unlock the RAM but it just shows:
T-Flash ....
error
error
error
error
in green colour
I checked MD5sum and also tried different TPT but none worked..
I installed Swedish Spring RLS7 and now its baseband changed to P729VB01
and still everything says that its Chinese blade..
its very confusing for me..
is it really chinese? is there any real way to check it? i mean the baseband says its euro version but every app says its chinese..
and why does these TPTs show this error.. I mean, even if it is chinese the TPT should flash the device and brick it as far i know(correct me if i am wrong).
Is there any way i can get the TPT to work and before that check if its really chinese variant or not?
Thanks in advance
PS: its a gen 2 device and came with froyo
i have an idea blade which has the same baseband(P729B01)
it has 256 mb of ram but the zte customer care says it has 512 mb out of which half is locked.
PLEASE HELP me to unlock the rest of the ram.
->Mahesh
You can try Windows flashing as it works if you get this tpt error.

Yes. First, you will have to flash the dell logo and then the ROM.
I'll provide a link to the dell logo in some time.

Mist important thing is flashing the proper stock ROM and the logo. Remember, flash the logo first followed by the ROM.
I've no idea about their reply. Maybe its better if you contact Customer Care first and then ask them about complaining online.

if you want to get replacement then you have to brick your phone by deleting the initiation scripts and system partition and it would not boot at all!then go to dell service cenre to get it replaced.this worked for me.

I was trying to root the device so i can get it updated from 2.2
I used Odin and tried recovery.tar file and now I'm getting a screen with a phone icon with a caution icon in the middle and a computer icon after it.
So I think I really messed it up
Any help
the thing is Odin is still connected
and no matter how much i try restarting whether in download mode or regularly same thing is still happening.
So if I can get some help would really appreciate it. I hope it can be restored

Does Odin still see the device? If it does, try to install the stock firmware. It may take some time to find it on the net. The first place I would try is here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3 and scroll down the page, put in your info in the drop down boxes and submit.
Thanks, Odin is still recognizing it
the original firmware was the ATT one
this Tab 2 has the 3G version

It is a soft brick and is recoverable. Go to here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=752 and read all the stickies in the general and dev sections. Apparently, you will not find an at&t rom per se, but can flash a new rom and pit, there are some very good detailed instructions available, but first read, and read some more, and some more after that. Apparently, your type of tab had signed bootloader issues, so be careful which rom you load. Also, as I have suggested with my links, go to the correct forum. I'm pretty sure you have a sgh i987, (based on the fact you were running 2.2 on at&t), and not a tab2.

Thanks appreciate all the help AMD o just realise I said this forum instead of this link that you had pointed to earlier. So again thank you. model is SGH-i987
thanks it stopped coming on I realise I would plug it in it will come on then go back off not sure after how long it goes back off I know I had ti plugged in both via wall and computer.
via computer the computer did pic it up cause it showed drivers being loaded
Now no matter what I'm doing I get a black screen

Ok got it on charging same screen as I told you about before that I attached earlier
I've looked for the ROM suggest Euro but no luck, the links were dead
And while typing those last few words it gone back off, so i'm guessing it can only be on for say 30 mins.
If I can get the ROM and install it via Odin then I can possibly get it restarted
Thanks

Ok, as I suspectef, you have the galaxy tab, not the tab 2, hence this is the wrong forum. Go to the forum I linked to, there are some stickies about rooting, recovery soft brick, etc. My understanding is that overcome rom or p1000 should work, but you must follow whatever odin procedures, etc. they use. Chainfire has a great post up about recovering, however the file links no longer work. Go there and ask if someone has the file(s) you need. This guy lists the files he used from sammobile http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996970 You will not find the files in this forum, this is the wrong forum for your device, this is for tab 2 models 31xx and 51xx, yours is a p1000 branded.
