is it a software thing or related to hardware ?
will ICS update give galaxy tab 7.7 burst shot mode ?
I would imagine that it's a hardware thing. This tablet's major downside is the camera, sadly. Even if it had burst I don't think the quality would be worth capturing at that rate.

Hi all,
I know that the product is yet to have an official event for more in-depth look of the device, but when someone finds out exact specifications of the camera inside the phone, please share here. If it's around One X quality I would be fine with that.
Many thanks
so far it's known to be a Sony back side illuminated sensor at 8 mega pixel supporting HDR

Now that I know that HDR mode is there, all I'm hoping for now is a fast shutter speed/zero shutter lag. Having burst mode would be a nice bonus, haha.
Since the Galaxy Nexus already have all that, its safe to asume this one will have them too, some of that are just software implementation. It will also have a sphere (360) mode.

Does the Galaxy Nexus also have burst mode?
Most of what has been mentioned is software, the actual specs of the sensor is as follows:
Sony 5 element BSI Sensor
Aperature: f/2.4
Receptor size: 1.1µm
Autofocus

If this is true that would be a nice upgrade from the galaxy nexus. Can you point to the source of this info? Too many smartphone reviewers just compare images as a whole, mostly comparing default exposure & saturation settings. Real camera comparisons should be more like digital camera reviews, looking at 100% sections for noise under low ISO and high ISO. Also whether the picture is sharp from corner to corner. Everything else is software magic.

Yes, I am only interested in hardware specs. Can you maybe share source of your information and also what is the 35mm equivalent focal length?
Q:
1.The iPhone5 Panoramic is perfect, no trace of joining together. Why android can't do this? The android have obvious splicing.
2.I watch the Nexus 4 video, the Optical Image Stabilization is not very well, the Lumia920 or iPhone5 is better than the Nexus4. Why ?
So how do we solve those problems? I need the professional answer.thanks~
We solve these problems by keeping our hands still

except for hands, what`s another way?
I find the claim that iOS does this perfectly, or much better, to be dubious.
But to maximize quality of panorama or PhotoSphere images:
1. Keep the lens in one location, only rotate it
2. Be as far away from objects as possible, > 15ft. for best results
The iPhone 5 and Lumia 920 both have superb cameras, some of the best possible in a smartphone.
I do hope the quality of cameras on Android phones and Nexus phones ramp up.
I mean seriously! ICS Galaxy Nexus had no shutter lag, then I heard for Jelly Bean or an ICS update they slowed it down a bit to focus better, but it seems with 4.2 the camera shutter speed is just beyond slow.. Anybody have a fix or agree with me?

This is a hardware limitation. The lagless shutter was a feature of Samsung's hardware (much like in the Galaxy S3). It does NOT depend on software. For example, a SGSIII running AOSP will still have zero shutter lag.
Damn I never thought of that! But it still seems slow on my galaxy nexus with 4.2.1 Think this is another 4.2 bug that google has to fix?

Also interesting to add that if I use Camera JB + I have no shutter lag...
What shutter lag?

0,0001ms didn't you noticed? P
Perhaps Samsung's memory is faster saves?
On my sgs3 i9300 I could snap as fast as I could press.
Did a clean install of cm10.1 with the actual cm camera app and the camera seems fast again.. something must have messed up when I have been flashing nightlys or possibly camera improvement mods.
It's not only hardware related, it's also related to the way the device focuses. Whenever you would set it's focus point to "infinite", you would have much less shutter lag than you'd have in, say, macro mode.
Camera ZOOM FX has four focus modes: auto, infinity, normal, and macro. I'm pretty sure I understand three of those, but what's "normal"? Presetting the focus to something like 4 feet? A duplicate of "auto"?
Is shutter speed already fixed in newest update?
when i click the photo button is there still a delay in making the photo?
Secondly, i like the slowmotion capabilities. IS there a app that lets you edit speeds like on the htc one? so you can select wich parts are played in normal speed and wich part is in slow motion?
no replies at all?
no one knows a software or fix or rom?
Wait.
I went from a Galaxy S2 to S4 Which was a huge improvement on itself and Camera stutter isn't a huge deal for me since it takes half a second or less to focus and take a photo and If you really want to capture alot of photos in a short time, Well there is Burst mode for you!
There is already options for Slow motion speeds (2x, 4x and 8x)
This is my personal opinion and i think the camera is perfectly fine & You give people more time to see your post, Don't be impatient.
what about software? is there software to edit frames of a video?
to make a video play faster for a large part?
Why samsung have not released a major update to our S5?
I mean... Why not introduce HDR option in front facing camera (is a must)?
Or RAW shooting in lollipop?
Or a suitable and realiable low light mode using mid-low ISO's parameters depending on the obturing speed (slow obturing time is better for low light situations)
Better 120fps slow motion, current 120 fps slow motion capture is smooth but also you can easyly see pixels or frames while in 16:9 widescreen mode...
Sorry if i didnt explain myself well in las example.
We need a major update, samsung use to do it with their top selling phones.
¿Why not us?
