My Sources tell me that it is not the first of June, but more on the 21st.

quad core?
The Samsung Galaxy S® III is optimized for peak performance on the nation’s fastest 4G LTE and HSPA+ networks, and will launch with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular.
Its says HSPA+, which equal non 4g right. Maybe quad core for some American carriers.

I think Samsung will make them Quad-Core all of them.
Also the designs will NOT be tampered like the past 2 Galaxy S Variants. We can probably guess that T-Mobile will be one of the better carriers to include it (highest selling) as the other carriers have iPhones and the release of the new one right around the corner will even out the GS3 sales.

Sprint now 1st US carrier to get GSII branded phone

An alaskan cell phone company GCI is getting it first:
http://phandroid.com/2011/09/09/sam...00/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Sorry, Sprint, but you were a bit too slow. Alaska’s regional GCI has beaten the nationwide carrier to market as the first U.S. carrier to offer a subsidized Samsung Galaxy S II. Those citizens residing in the colder of the two non-contiguous United States have the pleasure of heading out and picking up what looks to be an unadulterated version of the Galaxy S II for a mere $99.99 on contract. The GSII operates on GCI’s “4G” HSPA+ network and features a dual-core CPU, Super AMOLED Plus display, and more. We suppose with an asterisk Sprint can still be the first carrier to release the Galaxy S II in the continental US, right?

Actually, sprint could still say something like "the first major us carrier to bring the gs2"..."major" is the keyword there and effectively turns the entire statement into an opinion

Yessssssss! Ive been thinking about switching my Epic for the Epic touch. I just don't like that Samsung never keeps up with the updates, we as developers have to find and make custom roms for it and used "leaky" versions. How ahrd is it to release0 the newest android on the epic?!

really no sprint?
According to Pocketnow, the device will supposedly offer a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU, 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens and Beats Audio. Curiously, no LTE capability was mentioned specifically, though 21Mbps HSPA+ appears to be good to go, and there's a slight possibility of Sense 4.0 being included

Korean Note to be released on 11-29

To All who are interested (TMO ppl) The South Korean Note is scheduled to be released on 11-29-11. This will be a variant of the Euro version and is scheduled to have penta-band capability (1700/2100) It also is a LTE version capable of 42 mb d/l (theoretically) You can read more here:
http://sammyhub.com/2011/11/24/sk-telecom-to-release-galaxy-note-in-south-korea/
This will be the version that is supposed to be compatible with T-Mobile USA.

If some people think there is lag on the Note with the 1.4Ghz Exynos they'll really think it lags with the 1.5Ghz Snapdragon.

Unless your in an LTE market that this Korean Note will work on and you have an Unlimited data plan there's no reason to get it. The 1.5Ghz Snapdragon is slower than the 1.4Ghz Exynos in the current non-LTE Note. It's slower than the 1.2Ghz Exynos in the SGS2 and people have commented on how the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket which also uses the 1.5Ghz Snapdragon isn't as snappy as the SGS2.
Hold on you know what we should try first, the modem file. Lol

As far as the snapdragon being slow, remember I have tried both chips and unless you are a gamer it is not that noticeable of an issue especially, when new roms start rolling out.
Has anybody found out what bands this new Galaxy Note from Korea will support I can't find anything.

I just checked out the specs on PhoneArena .. impressive .. 4.8" 720 .. 32GB built-in WITH (and I must bold that WITH since the HTC One X doesn't have) .. microSDHC/XC support to 64GB more .. wahoooooo
However, in the radio information .. doesn't state anything about LTE !!!
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-AT-T_id7131
EDIT: whoops .. it states it in the description about the phone in regards to LTE support. Wonder why they didn't list in it the frequency listings !!
Hopefully AT&T follows suit with the others and announces the June 21st release.

Honestly seems a bit weak for a such a huge release for AT&T... Not only did they cut the quad and went with a dual core processor for LTE, they also cut the internal storage. Sure, the processor has better architecture and has more ram, but worth it...? I wouldn't entirely think so.

Usa gs3 selling for $500

Anybody got ideas why this price drop?($150 less than the international version)
We handle our currency differently than Europe. Our dollars are less than euros so it translates to more money to import it.

He said selling for less not more. we have different hardware and therefore different costs for one. second the phone is well into production now. where did you find the us version for 500? also the t-mobile version has the same chipset as the skyrocket that sells for 330. the us s3 is overpriced and i expect sudden drastic price drops. Its being subsidized for 150 + contract for a reason.

if your talking the tmobile gs2 it is the same as skyrocket a snapdragon s3 chip. the tmobile gs3 is a completely. different snapdragon s4 chip. which i get about 5000 on quadrent both chips are clocked at 1.5 but the s4 chip uses a newer technology. which makes it faster and more efficient
The T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T GSIIIs are not using the MSM8260a. They use the MSM8960 Krait chipset. I am unsure of the Sprint because I can't find the specs. I am pretty sure it utilized the MSM8960 as well. The MSM8960 has been shown to keep up with the current Quad-Core processors. Mainly, the Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset. If you do a Vellamo benchmark, you will see that it scores very close to the HTC One XL which uses the same chipset and beats the One X which is Quad. The GSII 4G and Skyrocket both had the MSM8260 Scorpion chipset. S4 stands for nothing more than Series 4.
