I haven't heard of it, but if it's out around April when I can upgrade, it sounds like it could be awesome. I'm going to look for some info on it now.

There were a few things that might make me think it wont be for sprint. :'(

really no sprint?

According to Pocketnow, the device will supposedly offer a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU, 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens and Beats Audio. Curiously, no LTE capability was mentioned specifically, though 21Mbps HSPA+ appears to be good to go, and there's a slight possibility of Sense 4.0 being included

Just like most beast I'm sure we'll get it's counter part or a CDMA version.

Literally 5 minutes ago, Samsung let the audience test the Galaxy Nexus..
Wonder how that got there before..
I watched the PR. No mention about ICS on the Nexus S or Hardware Acceleration
This is weird....I SWEAR I saw that 3rd pic in the hand of a guy on x-factor tonight....

great OS, but not a single word aboud updates or hardware acceleration?
Only thing that's new but not really is the screen size. Same dual core processor that's on other phones somewhat better display too with the amoled hd.

From the new SDK:
Hardware-accelerated 2D drawing
All Android-powered devices running Android 4.0 are required to support hardware-accelerated 2D drawing. Developers can take advantage of this to add great UI effects while maintaining optimal performance on high-resolution screens, even on phones. For example, developers can rely on accelerated scaling, rotation, and other 2D operations, as well as accelerated UI components such as TextureView and compositing modes such as filtering, blending, and opacity.

well, if it's incapable of working with the existing Sprint network, we won't be seeing this device until next summer at the earliest. I highly doubt they'd bring a phone out that wouldn't work with WiMax, though.

Well they do offer 4g phones with very very spotty coverage and make everyone pay the ten bucks a month with or with out coverage lmao. But tbh, I don't see sprint getting it just for that fact. Who knows, the revamp is suppose to start early 2012, they might release it then.

[Q] HTC one x

What are your thoughts?
Is this enough for you to leave T-Mobile for AT&T?
Just posted about the One S which is coming to t-mobile, check the general section for the link...will be dual core with sense 4.0 out of the box...think I will be staying myself, though at&t's version does sound better...
Nothing short of a gun to my head would make me switch to AT&T - A.K.A. the slime of humanity. Even then I'd have to think about it.
You know humanity has gone down the toilet when people are willing to chase a phone to join a carrier that they hate, because leasing (yeah, I said leasing) a phone that is grossly overpowered to perform phone-like tasks, is a life-defining event.
Then again, it already happened numerous times over with the iPhone, so why not with the One X?
I have never been on AT&T, only Sprint and T-mobile. I am not thrilled about Tmo as I think Sprint was better for me in my area. I just think it is a shame that tmo gets the second hand htc one..s.. Then they have the nervous to go and announce it as if it is a game changer
you guys do know that the HTC One X on AT&T is also a dual core processor right?
only the International version of the HTC One X will be Quad Core...

And to add to that, you guys know that the version with quad-core Tegra 3 will most likely be slower and less battery-efficient than the one with dual core Snapdragon S4, judging by the current comparisons...

Pretty much. Either the one x or s. Basically the same (the U.S. versions) but the s has a .4 inch smaller screen and is qhd samoled as opposed to super LCD hd on the x. Imo you can't go wrong with either one.

If im correct I read from a site which all said that T-Mobile will get the Tegra 3 version that AT&T Snapdragon S4. Also a stock version of Ice Cream Sandwich (Plus the Beats & Camera) as well like how they did with LG Optimus 2X which got rid of all 'LGs' things etc.
Now my 'opinion'.
The Snapdragon S4 is a better choice and its a shame its only for AT&T. Reason?
Dual Core Cortex A-15 'More Power efficient' which means less heat plus manufactured on a 'die' of 28nm. This phone should be hard to get hot or even warm.
Im sure many of you had a dual core phone, seriously how hot does that get while playing game? Galaxy S2 for example, or even Galaxy Nexus :\!
Nevermind Quad A9! The Companion Core won't kick in when your gaming...

If im not mistaken, I think you can still connect to "regular" 4g if LTE isnt available
Or do you just not 4g where you live in general?
Pretty certain there is no wimax (regular 4g) on the new Evo. I've read the 8960 chip can't/doesnt support it. So I don't believe that's an option.

I just checked out the specs on PhoneArena .. impressive .. 4.8" 720 .. 32GB built-in WITH (and I must bold that WITH since the HTC One X doesn't have) .. microSDHC/XC support to 64GB more .. wahoooooo
However, in the radio information .. doesn't state anything about LTE !!!
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-AT-T_id7131
EDIT: whoops .. it states it in the description about the phone in regards to LTE support. Wonder why they didn't list in it the frequency listings !!
Hopefully AT&T follows suit with the others and announces the June 21st release.

Honestly seems a bit weak for a such a huge release for AT&T... Not only did they cut the quad and went with a dual core processor for LTE, they also cut the internal storage. Sure, the processor has better architecture and has more ram, but worth it...? I wouldn't entirely think so.

My Sources tell me that it is not the first of June, but more on the 21st.
quad core?
The Samsung Galaxy S® III is optimized for peak performance on the nation’s fastest 4G LTE and HSPA+ networks, and will launch with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular.
Its says HSPA+, which equal non 4g right. Maybe quad core for some American carriers.
I think Samsung will make them Quad-Core all of them.
Also the designs will NOT be tampered like the past 2 Galaxy S Variants. We can probably guess that T-Mobile will be one of the better carriers to include it (highest selling) as the other carriers have iPhones and the release of the new one right around the corner will even out the GS3 sales.
