[Q] Gameloft games trying to download data in internal memory - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have nova hd 2 apk. Now i downloaded all the data to /sdcard/gameloft/games/GloftN2HP folder. Now what i did was to wipe completely . And I reinstalled the apk again.
Now as of the data was still existing in /sdcard/gameloft/games/GloftN2HP folder . It should straight away run . But instead any game I try including Nova 2 HD or Nova 3 . Its straight away trying to download data Irrespective of the fact I have data files in my sdcard in proper folder .
Now can someone tell how to run these games in Defy ? and why does it try to download the game data into internal memory instead of external sdcard ?

Bind/Link to external sd card from folder within internal sd card

First of all, I just created a thread about this but apparently it never posted so if there are multiple threads by me I apologize.
Anyway, I am trying to create a folder in /sdCard that will link to /storage/extSdCard for apps that start in internal sd card but won't let me go up one folder so that I can navigate to external sd card. I did accomplish this on my s2 using directory bind but it doesn't seem to work on my note 3. I'm sorry if this is confusing. I will try to elaborate if needed.

Can anyone help me, please?

Directory bind is old and no longer supported.
Check out the app "folder mount" in the play store. Worked a charm on my s4 so I'm sure it will be fine on the Note 3 as well.

Has anyone got folder mount to work with the Note 3 yet? I'm running stock MJ7 rooted with Chanfire easy root method, double and triple checked everything. Managed to get the app to move the original data from internal SD to my 64GB Sandisk Class 10 external SD but the link pin will not turn green.
It's driving me mad and I'm on the verge of selling the Note 3 and going back to my S2 (along with the very easy vold.fstab SD card swap mod)!!
Use solid explorer if you want to go up a folder to navigate to external sd. Also note 3 does app2sd so why the need for all this?

App2sd moves the installed app files, not the SD data that many games download in order to play. Some are in excess of 1-2GB and if you have a few installed then your internal SD space soon runs out
Same issue
I created a thread idential to this earlier n however ot realising this one already existed my bad.
Ive had the exact same problem, the closest ive came is with File mount i was able to get Modern combat 4 to work succesfully, but nothing else and i tryed most of the top end games with massive data files.
No ideas why mc4 worked, and real racing 3 worked. All of the other games show up as binding correctly and when i run a check the directorys show as being mounted in the same way as MC4 and real racing 3 however when i run the apk the games cant find the data files and start re downloading.
Hopefully someone works away round this or creates a new programme cause its so restrictive, install the top 10 android games and all your internal memorys completely used up
i used to use apps2sd before directory bind was available but the reality is that its pretty useless now for most modern games,

Steps for how to free your Device Memory/ Device Storage/ Internal SD Card

Hi everybody. at-last i did what is the title of this thread and thought i will share it with u guys.be advised u may brick your phone and your warranty is void now.
1. below mentioned steps works on rooted s4 mini (Stock ROM or [ROM][i919x]S5 Mini Lollipop Port v2.5)
3. backup everything of your device like contacts, sms, apps, both internal and extrenal sd card etc etc (i used shareit app to backup my internal sd card to my pc)
2. i started by clean installation of [ROM][i919x]S5 Mini Lollipop Port v2.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/development/s5-s4-mini-t2987500)
3. just after completing installation i made partition of my external sd card to use link2sd (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432459) (i bought link2sd plus new from market to support developer)
4. after that i put all my backup back and started installing apps back (apps got installed on second partition of ext sd card>change settings in link2sd to AUTO LINK)
5. now head over to xposed installer and install it
6. now install module obb on sd
7. after that copy all apk obb in device storage/android/obb to their respective ext sd/android/obb
8. last problem was how to copy data of some apps like DioDict4 or Medscape to ext sd card and make apks work.i experimented a lot and asked for help which was in vain so lets proceed to final steps now (above mentioned apk or others like them does not download data to android/data or android/obb but like this device storage/diodict4 or device storage/medscape)
9. install this play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount)
10. it is simple to use this app.i did like this for DioDict4.i created folder named DioDict4 in ext sd card and than opened folder mount than + sign than selected source (device storage/DioDict4) and app selected destination automatically than copy yes>wait it to finish than pinned it.
That is it guys.please hit thanks if u find this thread useful.i dedicate this thread to all people like me :highfive:

Large games on sd card

Hello,
I was searching for a way to put large games like (asphalt 8, nova3, and any other games) on sd card on my rooted samsung galaxy s4 because the internal storage is very low and about to be full.
First i tried to use the file manager i have sent the odd file and the apk(which in the data folder) but the game didn't work, it was searching for required files and asked to download them.
Then i tried many apps which need root acces on my device to send the games on sd card but i got the same problem...
Is there are any way to send the game on sd card and make it work there?
Thanks.
try app2sd...it is on play store ?
I have already tried it but it send the apk file only i want app or any way to send the apk and the odd to the sd card and make it work there.
This depends on what rom you're using.
You could try Folder Mount
Actually all these apps aren't useful i can already use any file manager to send the game files to the sd card but the problem is when i add the game to sd card when i open the game it dont find the game's files.
And about which rom am i using i didn't get it and how to know my rom?
I use the xposed module Obb2SD, so all my games are moved to SD card then the Obb files are also moved onto the SD card.
I am using a custom Rom.

If you are using the stock samsung rom then you just have to go to Manage apps and find the game you want to move and the press "Move to sd card".
Moving the apps manually will not work.
Folder Mount will move the app data to the sd card and trick the system into thinking it's on the internal storage.
I have just used folder mount by sending the game files (the folder in the data and its folder in the odd) but the game won't find their files
Did you get the phone new? Did you flash any custom rom on it or is it the stock samsung firmware that comes with the phone?
The only thing i have done with my phoned is rooting it with a custom recovery, there is no any custom roms im just using just the stock rom.
Then the rom should have the option to move apps to sd.
I know that my stock 4.4.2 samsung firmware had that option.
Go to settings > apps > downloaded, and tap any app you want to move. There should be an option "move to sd card" or something like that.

[Q] What app should I use to move apps to sd card, using my rooted note 4?

I searched the web but cant find a clear answer and youtube isnt helping on this topic, will someone please refer me to an app that will give me the capability to move apps and games to my External SD card using T-Mobile note 4 , thank you!
You should be able to do that by using the built-in app manager in settings, but i'm afraid the game data will remain in the internal memory.
You could use Folder Mount (search in Play Store) to move the data to the external SD and make a symlink on the internal memory.

does link2sd work on s7 edge

did anyone install link2sd on the 7e
or can we get real tweak to move big game apps and data that we choose to sdcard, like something we used to have link2sd in previous phones
when i press in setting to move for example AC Identity which is a 2 giga game, it does not move it all to sd card, it barely moves few mb only
i know there is a tweak where u make your whole sd card seen as an internal memory but that is not what i want as the whole phone starts to act up and gets slow
I want to be in control of which apps and data to move totally to sdcard for individual apps
I know there's an Xposed module called "OBB on SD" that works perfectly on the S7/edge, but I didn't try link2sd though

I tried it for example I moved the obb file from the main storage to the sd card obb in the android folder for fifa game and it did not work, after I moved the obb file to the sdcard and launced the game it started downloading the data again
are you sure it works, I am on superman rom
if works on ur phone can u tell me how, I installed the module from xposed and rebooted and in the setting of obb to sd I checked all settings?
I really hope you can help me to get this to work
