Hi all...
My friend sent his X8 to a phone shop to get it updated to android 2.3.7 and ended up with a bricked phone cause by that phone shop.
Now, which according to him stuck at the white "Sony Ericsson" logo...Which i know is a soft brick and most probably can be saved by flashing it with PCC or SEUS or FlashTool.
I have ask him to flash it with SEUS or FlashTool, but not successful, still stuck on the SE logo, i doesn't know weather he do it wrongly or does not has any patient...
I gonna buy this phone from my friend, and repair the phone myself.
I want to ask u guys is there any other reason for the phone to stuck at the SE logo other than bricked phone? Could it be a hardware prob?
Thanks...
Cheers...
Maybe the shop took something from the phone:what:
White Sony Xperia X8
Cypress Screen with 3M protector
11w34 unlocked bootloader
Now with Cm9 nAa kernel

I have been stuck on Sony Ericsson logo a thousand times.
I always repair it successfully by using the "Repair" option in PCC.
It's simple and easy and works every time for me.

oh ok u already have FTF file then it simple...
place the FTF file in firmwares folder
open flashtool... click on FLASH... now u should see that file in the list... select that file and click OK... flashtool will now prepare the files... and then a popup will come telling u to connect device in FLASHMODE (i think for that u have to powerdown ur device and then keeping the back button pressed connect the USB cable)... now Flashtool should recognize ur device... and start flashing the firmware

Well im having a hard time on my sony erricson x10. Last night i decided to flash it with the cm9 rc0 that is here somewhere.
I Started by doing the bootloader unlock making a kernel downgrade (X10_aZuZu_Kernel_Downgrade_Generic) then the unlock it self (qsd8250) and finaly the kernel upgrade (X10_aZuZu_Kernel_upgrade_Generic). All went fine. Then i flashed with x10_2.3.3_stock-with-xrecovery-v3.ftf and tried to install the rom (FXP115_update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-anzu-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip) that did not went well for some how.
I had to use the pc companion and make a re-install. All went ok and now i end with a phone that starts ok i enter the pin for the sim card, and when i should see the "desktop" and icons i see nothing just the walpaper and the bar on top wich i can scroll down and view a message "no service".
I cant flash nothing more just the downgrade and upgrade kernel thing the x10_2.3.3_stock-with-xrecovery-v3.ftf (wich i have downloaded a few times from diferent places) gives the following line " ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed""
Im out of ideias :/ any one can help me?
PS: I have spent 7 hours googling here and everywhere and nothing relevant comes up.
Find the stock ftf for 2.3 and flash, then use the newest flashtool to root and add recovery then unlock the bootloader with the flashtool. All can be done with newest flashtool! Then install cm9! Simple as that

Simple Solution to your Problem
Hi,
See my post on how to simply root, unlock bootloader and Install Custom ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1607452
Solution to your problem:
1. Go to Sony Ericsson PC Companion and go to Support Zone and update Software. (it will give you a option to reinstall the OS).
2. Reinstall the OS through, It will install and your phone will become to factory conditions.
3. Now follow my thread (Link above) to simply root, unlock the boot loader and install a Custom ROM. (Maximum time required is less than 10min).
No need to downgrade/upgrade kernel, do this, do that, check this, check that and all... it is very simple procedure.
Just one click for one job.
Enjoy.
You the men i cannot express my hapinnes in words. it would be F*%$#@ amazing
So many thanks to all i have found a user in same situation and helped it

NOW THREAD IS UPDATED AS PER MY SENIOR SUGGESTION:trlAltDelIrl,sgt. meow,fotak-x,IAmNice
Hi Newbies,
I think all newbies are confused about Boot loader. The following instruction will help u and easy to do unlock.
First check ur software version 11w026 or below version.if its below 11w026 do the following instruction.
Requirement:
1.S1 tool http://www.mediafire.com/?iwnjno9hirpgcm1
2.Mmz toolhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=715058&d=1315609618
Steps:
Disable Antivirus first.
Install Gorden drivers first, then only flash tool will detect ur phone...!
Step1:
Switch off ur phone.Open S1 tool and click do job. Hold back button and connected to use port,
Now the s1 tool will do the job.
Check ur boot loader unlocked or not:
you will see something like RUNNING S1_EROM VER "R8A029"
small r which means your bootloader is unlocked.
Step2:
Open Mmz file and extract that.
Switch on ur phone. and Run mmsc_semc.cmd..It will start to Unlcok the bootloader.
Wait till finish. Now ur phone will be unlocked successfully.
You r the only responsible if ur Awesome xperia bricked..:silly:
Like Do not Run MMSC-SEMC2.CMD. It will lock ur sim certificate..
If ur have problem in Sim Like"No SERVICE" after unlock the boot loader, Re lock the boot loader and do it again..
Be Careful..Its your own risk,,You are the only responsible,If ur lovely xperia Bricked..!
Relock the boot loader Tools:
St tool:http://www.mediafire.com/?jeo3c1xt988f822
Relocking bootloader steps:
Launch the s1tool.exe(Link Given Below)
Click restore button on s1tool
Turn off the phone
Connect your phone in flash mode (press back button while plugging your usb untill green led blink)
Wait till it finished relocking your bootloader.
The phone will restart
Check Bootloader Relocked:
Repeat the step above but on no 2 step you choose identify not restore if the previous relocking process successful you will see something like RUNNING S1_EROM VER "R8A029" notice the CAPITAL R.
Unsuccessful - you will see it with small r which means your bootloader still unlocked.

Unless you are giving complete instructions and informing people of the risks you should not be giving tutorials like this.
On top of that you don't even check your spelling! The drivers are wrong! They are Gordons Gate not garden!
You fail to mention that if people have a simlock on their phone it will be dead using this method.
Please update or remove your post!

Hi all,
Firstly I want to apologise if this has been asked before. I have hand-on-heart spent the equivalent of 48hrs solid searching for the answer over the last few weeks for this.
I have a rooted X10i running 2.3.3 (Stock). I have tried everything to unlock my bootloader, but it seems to be impossible to unlock.
Is this the case or am I missing a trick or something? Can anyone please help me?

Well to be honest i think there is not such thing called Permanent Locked Bootloader , well same situation happened to me yesterday when i was trying to flash my 1st ROM for Xperia X10i , but something happened and i forgot to copy the zip file to the SD ......... Anyway , just try to unlock it by Flashtool v0.9.80 , and also download s1tool to check if it's unlocked or not , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343 Here , i followed those instructions
Unfortunately this guide and several others are the ones I have been following.
I have just tried to unlock the bootloader using flashtool64 0.9.9.0 and have gotten the following error:

Ok , here what you should do , you have Kernal Downgrade and Upgrade right from the Rooting thing , aZuZu , well 1st Flash Downgrade , after it's done , unplug the device then turn it on then plug the usb , then wait until root press appears , plus use this flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196421&page=1, when the rooting is done , flash the upgrade , then turn on the device , and go back to Flashtool 0.9.9.0 , wait until it recognize your phone , then if you can see the Ask Root Perms appears press it until and press allow in your phone in SuperUser , then wait until Flashtool tool says Root Access Allowed , if it says so install xRecovery 0.3G , then you go to Plugins> you will see bootloader unlock -- i guess , i'm using 0.9.8.0 -- , then press Run , do what Flashtool says , then test it with s1tool if it's r not R , then your bootloader is unlocked , Well Enjoy Flashing After That lol xD , Good Luck , Hope this work

Hi all,
Firstly I want to apologise if this has been asked before.

Unfortunately this guide and several others are the ones I have been following.
I have just tried to unlock the bootloader using flashtool64 0.9.9.0 and have gotten the following error:

Don't try to unlock your bootloader
You will lose your network( there will be no signal in the rom. even on stock roms).

Don't try to unlock
Your network will surely be gone
You have another way to unlock bootloader
First you have to sim unlock your phone using setool (search google for it)
Then check with s1tool, it will show setool sim certificate
. Then you can unlock bootloader safely
don't do it, i tried that after sim unlock with omnius and then i got NO network.
I had the backup of the trim area... that was my luck. For what i can see the bootlader unlock is now impossible for me, or i have to pay again to sim unlock with seetool.
@THeLogiC if he uses setool2 to sim unlock his phone there is no need to use the s1tool, as the setool2 unlocks the boot loader while it sim unlocks the phone, as thats how i got mine done when the_laser first did the bootloader unlock.
