Could the zip file on this page work if you flashed it in CWM? How else to you get it?

No that's the 'wingray' build which is actually a fresh build of 4.0.3 specifically for the wingray tablet which is the Motorola Xoom. There is a cornerstone ROM on a forum which can't be mentioned L) but it's version 162
It still has SoD on the ICS BL though I think because there isnt' a newer version of the Cornerstone build, only normal ICS build.
yeah i flashed that rom and cornerstone was cool but made the whole tablet to slow or buggy i guess, so i went back to civato's flexreaper

Alright, I know. It's here somewhere, but Google, and the search here aren't cutting it. I am on the old cm7(Emmc) with the old kernel, and I want to update to a newer nightly build. How do I go about doing it? I am afraid to flash a new nightly because of the kernel. Does it flash with the new build? I am running smooth now, but wanna try out the working USB. Thanks......

Just do a nandroid, flash the latest nightly, clear the caches. you are good to go. the nightly contains the new uboot and kernel.
Make sure you also flash the latest 6/13 gapps after you flash the latest nightly.
Im also going to update from nightly 87, .29 kernel and 1.1 uboot. I want to install nightly 117 or 118. I know the new uboot gets flash automatically. So just to clarify steps. First install nightly then kernel 6/30, gapps. Clean cache, wipe dalvik. Correct?
What about updating Clockwork Recovery? I've seen some people talking about it -- is it actually necessary?

Use Rom Manager to update clockwork to the latest. Can also use it for flashing nightlies... or RC1.
if you wish to check out usb hosting, you'll need to flash dal's new kernel 6/30 and his awesome app nook color tweaks

My 3G Xoom is my first android device. With help from all the great developers I have been able to root. I am currently on Launchpad 1.3 gemini which I love. I do want to get the update to 3.2 but now I am confused as to what to do.
I have read that Launchpad has teamed up with Tiamat. My question is there going to be some Kernal that will allow the 3g users to get 3.2? Tiamat is coming out with all these updates I feel that maybe I am behind. Do I need to just wait?

The newest Tiamat Roms do indeed support the 3G Xooms. Launchpad 1.3 is a kernel for the Xoom, not a custom Rom. It sounds like you are on the stock 3.1 Rom with the Launchpad kernel. Follow the steps I have provided, and follow what the quote below states if you want know a little more additional info.
Step 1: Back up all apps with their data via the Titanium Backup app. Reboot into recovery. Wipe data. Install Tiamat 1.1 Rom:
Titanium Backup on the market
Tiamat 1.1 (HC 3.1)
Step 2: Wipe data again. Install Tiamat 2.1 Hammerhead Rom:
Tiamat 2.1 (HC 3.2)
Step 3: Restore all apps with their data via Titanium Backup.
Step 4: (Optional): Install the overclocked GPU Tiamat kernel:
Tiamat "Tachi" OC GPU kernel (HC 3.2)
From there you should be ready to go with your new Tiamat Honeycomb 3.2 Rom!
And if you need any additional help, let me know, or you can post your question in the appropriate thread that you are having the problem with in the links I have provided above. They are the official Tiamat threads.

You could flash the Tiamat Rom 1.1 which is for 3.1 (but you will need to wipe (it's a rom) and then flash the manta ray which will get you the 3.2 update, and preserve your root. I love it with the "tachi" kernel. From there you could flash the Hammerhead rom or just hang out with the Manta Ray for a while...It is shark week, right?
EDIT: On edit, I see that Team Tiamat has labeled their Manta Ray rom obsolete, so I guess the progression should be directly fromTiamat Rom 1.1 (for HC3.1) to Hammerhead Rom 2.1. Just load these files onto your sdcard, get into recovery , wipe/factory reset, flash 1.1, reboot, get back to recovery, wipe/factory reset, flash 2.1, reboot and hopefully Win1!
Does that sound about right? Oh and the tachi kernel (non-oc gpu) is included with the 2.1 Hammerhead Rom, but you can flash the oc gpu version over the rom if you like.

Sounds right! And yeah, I was going to tell him to skip the Manta Ray Rom completely and go straight to Hammerhead, which is why I put optional in parenthesis, I was debating that.
I'll do some editing for him. Make it one nice post. Thanks, like always!
I bump into you a whole lot here on the Xoom topics. Lol.

Cool! Glad to be of service. Enjoy Team Tiamat!
OK.
been out of the game for a couple of months not really keeping up to date.
i am running cm7 rc 1.5 at the moment.
all is well but i have noticed as few niggles and would like to flash the latest rc or maybe even the latest nightly.
so ok i see from doing a bit of reading that the latest is cm7 rc 1.0 and the latest nightly was 02/01/2012.
but i am now a bit confused as i see there are 2.2 and 2.3 kernals.
so question
do i need to flash just the latest cm7 rc1.0 and then flash the newest nightly over it or do i need to flash a kernal with them as well.
finally am i right in thinking these are indeed the latest releases?
answers appreciated before i flash them tonight.
cheers
If you want to use any defy+ builds (both cm7 and cm9), you have to flash cm9 kernel (i.e. gingerbread, 2.3).
Otherwise, just flash the cm7 kernel (i.e. froyo, 2.2).
Here're your options:
1. Flash any of the latest SBFs. You'll get the latest Gingerbread kernel in the process which works everthing - Stock, CM7 nightlies and CM9 nightlies.
2. Flash the CM9 Kernel. Then flash CM7 nightly, or CM9.
thanks for the replies.
ok i did quite a lot of reading of the cm7 and cm9 threads last night.
so it appears that if i want to use cm7 after the 12th decemeber i need to flash the 2.3 CM9 kernal but before that it is simply a matter of flashing the cm7 zip.
if i do flash the cm9 kernal and want to go back to cm7 2.2 then i simply flash the cm7 zip and the cm7 kernal.
pretty straightforward if i have it right.
however i am now not sure which cm7 is the latest stable release as i have found cm7 1.0 rc1 and cm7 1.0 rc0.
now i am gonna hazard a guess that the 0 is the latest but if someone can clarify that would be good.

now i use the lastest nightly version, if i wanna upgrade to the cm9, do I have to flash the Gingerbread kernel ?
Not necessarily. Quarx's ICS build is for the Froyo Kernel.
CM7.1 stable on tmobile USA
How does CM7.1. stable work on Defy with Tmobile USA. Any bugs like Wifi etc.
Thx
I was a little surprised to see that there were no OC'd kernels to add-on to the stock IML77 official Google ROM that I've been playing around with. So, I set up a linux install and an android build environment so I could make some hybrid boot images combining the kernels from the latest (1/15/12) Team EOS and Cyanogenmod 9 ROMS with the stock ramdisk to use to fastboot on to my IML77 build.
I strongly suggest if you are going to try this to boot into Recovery and take a nandroid backup of your boot partition so that you can have that to fastboot back on your Xoom in the event that something goes wrong here. I take no responsibility if things go south for you.
to use, download the boot image of your choice to the same folder as your fastboot binary and run "fastboot flash boot CM9_stock_hybrid_boot.img" or "fastboot flash boot EOS_stock_hybrid_boot.img" depending on the kernel of your choosing.
Team EOS (Tiamat) 2.6.39.4 kernel: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28227060/EOS_stock_hybrid_boot.img
Team EOS (Tiamat) 2.6.39.4 kernel mirror: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28227060/stock-IML77_boot.img
Team Rogue (CM9) 2.6.39.4 kernel: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28227060/CM9_stock_hybrid_boot.img
Team Rogue (CM9) 2.6.39.4 kernel mirror: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28227060/stock-IML77_boot.img
In case you did not heed my warning above and need a stock IML77 boot image, here's the one I pulled from my system.
stock boot image: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28227060/stock-IML77_boot.img
stock boot image mirror: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28227060/stock-IML77_boot.img
One last thing, I take no credit for any of the kernel work (Thanks goes to Team EOS and Team Rogue for that!) only putting it together into a boot image that's usable with the official stock Google IML77 ROM.
Hmmmm....... not sure what to make of this or what to say. I can say that without some modifications this will break init.d, CIFS, and USB OTG on our kernel. In the meantime anyone is welcome to check out or use our git, or wait until we release our ICS kernel which should be soon....

Thanks for the warning. I did no source modifications and therefore these items (and possibly others) will be broken. I didn't notice and don't mind since I don't use any of them with this ROM. Glad to hear that a Rogue ICS kernel will be released soon
Wondering.. USBotg is present?
heeding all warnings, I did this anyway <appreciate the warnings anyway guys>
It appears to work - I am now overclocked to 1.5 (via CPU) and have kept all 3G functionality (MZ601 Everest).
Verry happy - not sure how many others out there have an overclocked 3g Euro xoom ;-)
thx tutech

I used the EOS one.
This was my sequence of loading/flashing:
Flashed all 4 MZ601 4.0.3 Alpha Build images.
Flashed CWM Recovery
Installed Universal-Root via Recovery
Pushed my (saved on file) teleophony settings
All good now on MZ601 3G rooted
Flashed EOS Wingray boot image from above
Wiped Cache / Dalvik in Recovery
Installed SetCPU
Overclock on boot!!
Fully functioning 3G MZ601 ICS Overclocked Xoom!!
Rogue ICS kernel has been published
Overclockable and runs well on the MZ601

Yep, 3g all good
And yes, I am missing many apps from the Marketplace, I think this is due to the ro.fingerprint values contained in the build.prop (can't confirm until I solve the issue though).
Btw, I have now updated to the Rogue Kuma kernel.

I finally got around to applying the ICS OTA update to my A500 (Image is Acer_AV041_A500_RV05RC01_PA_CUS1 - Build is 1.033.00) but just realized it still has the old 2.6 kernel and not 3.0. Is that typical? Most ICS updates I've seen on other devices updated the kernel to the correct one also, so I was surprised to still see the old one.
Thanks!

That "is" the ICS kernel build
Hmmmm. All of my other ICS devices are on the 3.0 kernel. ICS is based on 3.0 and JellyBean on 3.1.

You are confusing android version # and linux kernel version. There is no definite kernel version for ICS or JB, it just depend of manufacturer's will...it would be great to have the latest kernel thought. TegraOwners's rom is on 3.1 if you really care.
My bad.... Didn't realize the manufacturers we're being slackers....but No, I'm definitely not confusing the android version and Linux kernel....I'm a loooooong time Linux Guy. ;-) My main mistake must have been paying attention to the Wikipedia article on all of the android versions. It specifically stated that ICS was using 3.0 and JB 3.1 (which has been my experience recently with my other devices).
Thanks for the heads up though!
