Front Camera Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S2 comparison - Galaxy S III General

Galaxy S III has a 1.9 megapixel front camera with zero shutter lag and BSI sensor and Galaxy S II has a 2 megapixel but don't include BSI sensor. I'd like to see how different photo between 1.9mp with BSI sensor and 2mp.
Galaxy S III and S II owners, please post photos for comparison. (low light or indoor)
Thank you

Sony Arc Camera versus x10i versus iPhone 3GS

Hi, I have added some sample from each camera/phone during day light
http://honglong1976.wordpress.com/2011/08/02/quick-camera-test-sony-ericsson-arc-vs-x10i-vs-iphone-3gs/
and low light to see how the Exmor R sensor performs compared to the iPhone 3GS. A 2 year old phone.

Update** Night Time shot
http://honglong1976.wordpress.com/2011/08/14/sony-arc-versus-iphone-3gs-night-time-shot/
What do you think? Have you got any samples?
Arc wins (like expected )
I also own a X10 and Arc's Exmor R is way better at night or dark conditions like the X10's sensor.

I thought that too, but the iPhone 3GS does quite well considering its 2 years old with 2 year old camera sensor tech.
I have a Sony Arc and I agree it takes decent photos but I feel they are much worse than they could be.
I found this review of 5 Smart Phone cameras and the Arc comes out worse.

Mhm, anyway I'm happy with it. And saw other shots where the Arc rules over the SGS II over @ esato.com

LG Nexus 4 vs Galaxy S2 camera?

I heard the Galaxy S3 uses the same camera as the S2, if that's true, is my current camera on my S2 is better than the one in the LG Nexus? Also according to some.. well a lot of sources, the camera on the nexus 4 is the same as the LG Optimus G, I don't think the LG Optimus G uses the Sony sensor like the nexus 4, am I right?
Thanks in advance!
The Galaxy s3 and the Nexus 4 use a BSI sensor (Back-Side-Illuminated), the Galaxy GS2 does not.
I guess the Nexus 4 camera is going to be a minor upgrade to the GS2 camera.
well the nexus 4 and S3 both can take pictures almost instantly, with my S3 i could probably take 3-5 pictures by the time my S2 is done with 1

BSI means it will take better pictures at night compared to S2?

Yea I thought that was the only difference between S2 and S3 camera, the no shutter lag, I've had my S2 for almost a year and half it disappoints me how the camera tech is growing so slow.. also batteries /:

Galaxy Note 4 Rear Camera Specifications

Hey All,
Been trying to find detailed specs of main camera as Samsung only said it has OIS in their keynote. Lol.
Please help by posting max iso, aperture, f. Sensor size etc.
My Z2 overheating issues is starting to bug me so looking to go back to note line after note 3 camera sucked! Hoping Note 4 is better than S5.

It's a 4.8mm lens with f/2.2 aperture, OIS, 16 MP camera. I based these specs on the exif data of a sample picture. Samsung has not confirmed anything about the sensor, although it is suspected that it is by Sony. Not much more is known at this time.

get photo make with help Note4, then PUMa - Tools - Camera with this photo and have information about module & sensor
It uses Sony imx240 sensor afaik
Why are samsung not releasing info?
Thanks for all comments but this is weird English - The Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 16MP 1/2.6” size sensor with f2.0 aperture lens. This is not the same module as on the Galaxy S5 though. Did they mean it is the same module?

The aperture is wrong in that article. There are sample photographs out there you can download and then examine the exif data. That will confirm that the aperture is f/2.2 and the lens is 4.8mm. Exactly as Galaxy S5.

Thought as much. That's the reason samsung didn't release info as they knew they would be hammered grouping some camera tech!
Not asking much just a decent spec camera? At least S5 takes good pics in general just same Sammy low light fail (indoor)

The Note 4 may do better in low light however if they have incorporated a Sony sensor. OIS should help as well. There are other things that could be different too like ISO, and shutter speed, So I am curious to see how this thing will do in low light.

Well it was believed to be the Sony sensor. However the Lenovo Vibe Z2 released with a 16MP OIS Samsung made ISOCELL camera sensor leads to believe Samsung used their own ISOCELL sensor in the Note 4.
And released samples show a lot of improvement in low light compared to past Samsung devices. Even the S5.
And the OIS video test compared to the S5 makes an immediate huge difference. And the S5's video without OIS was already outstanding. So the detail or better of the S5 with OIS to clear up more detail and stabilize it.

On the german Samsung-Site it looks like the rear camera will have only f/2.4 aperture

I thought it was already confirmed to be a Sony IMX240 sensor?
Sammobile is usually on point - can't post links yet, but google "Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera Features – 16MP, Side Touch, Wide Selfie, and much more." See below for quote.
According to our sources, Samsung is equipping the Galaxy Note 4 with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX240 camera sensor on the back with optical image stabilization (OIS), which is capable of shooting UHD (3840×2160) video at 30FPS. This isn’t the first time Samsung is using the IMX240 camera sensor - Samsung has used the exact same sensor in the Korean Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A (SM-G906S/L/K), however it lacked optical image stabilization (OIS)

K Zoom vs Note 4 camera quality

Dear All,
I have bought the K zoom and was very happy with it. Now i have compared the camera quality with a friends Note 4 and noticed that the note 4 makes much more detailed pictures. Is this normal for a phone which is most focused on a camera? Of course the note does not win when competing to 10x optical zoom and xeon flash. But all other pictures, the note 4 wins always.
Can i do something do make the best detailed pictures?
Thx.
Any updates here? I have Galaxy K adn Note 4 Edge and yes Note 4 really produces better picture quality than the zoom

Its great now ..Only if we had these hardware options This would be The Best device f

Bump the 5x to 64g storage and or expandable SD slot 1 more gig of ram and a f1.7 apature camera with possibly samsungs dual pixel technology and amoled display and I'd keep this phone for 2 years maybe more .

You need to look for comparisons nexus 5x vs samsung galaxy s6 or s7. The nexus camera is somewhere inbetween them but def better than galaxy s6 (i owned s6 previously)
I agree that the 5x camera produced better images than the s6. Pictures from the s6 turned out yellow a lot of the times when shooting indoors.

In Android Authority's review of the Galaxy S7, Joshua said that his Nexus 6p produced better quality images in low light than the Galaxy S7 (6p and 5x have both the very same camera).

Nice to hear thx for the input. I love this camera
I've got Nexus 5X, my friend has S6.
We did some camera tests, and came to the same conclusion about which is better:
It depends. Some of the daylight shots looked brighter on S6, but with less saturated colours. Nexus likes darkness and vivid colours, which tickles my fancy more intensively than S6's shooting style does. On the other hand, low-light shots looked better on S6 just because it has OIS.
IMO, Nexus'es camera is as good as S6's, but the superiority of development on 5X floors S6 as a potential competition.

I've heard from people who do photo editing that the darker images are more desired because it's easier to brighten them up after and retain colour information.
However pictures that are taken bright as is the case with most smartphone cameras, will lose more information that can't be recovered afterwards.
Basically they say the 5x camera acts like a normal camera instead of a smartphone camera. Where as smartphone cameras are usually designed to have the picture look good right away on the phone's screen so brighter images are desired even if it means less accurate colours.
