[Q] Android 4.3 problems on my Nexus 7 (2012)?

I recently force installed the new 4.3 update on my Nexus 7 (2012) and i'm starting to see problems that did not occur in the 4.2 version that are occurring in the update. When i play games with it, in the middle of game play, the app crashes a lot and i have to relaunch in order to play, other problems are in my "emulators" my Tiger Arcade emulator stopped supporting some roms and even crashes when some are played, the majority of the roms are fully functional in the 4.2 android update, but now the 4.3 update crashes the emulator, i've only gotten Metal Slug 4 to work along with the neogeo bios file (MAME). Street Fighter 3rd Strike also doesn't work anymore. Any one else having the same problem with their Tiger Arcade?
Is there anything i can do to fix this issue or do i have to wait until the developers of Tiger Arcade fix this Android 4.3 issue?
If there is no way, is it possible i downgrade my Nexus 7 to 4.2 again?
I have no idea on how to fix your problems in games and emulator, but I do know that you can downgrade using the proper images from here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Without any intentions of hijacking this thread, I have a small question.
People who have updated to 4.3, are you guys able to run VPN apps like Hotspot Shield, Hide Ninja etc to work properly? Or even connect at all. ?
I am not being Able to do so and another friend of mine who has unrooted completely stock nexus 7 @ 4.3 ... also reports the same thing.
-------
Another thing, I thought Google has changed the Boot Animation in 4.3.
But why am I still on old (X) animation ?

So will this erase all my data if i choose to restore using this method, i mean these are other people's backup image files right?

These are the factory images from Google, so these will return your tablet to how it was when you booted it after installing 4.2.2. You can choose not to wipe the data partition which contains all your data, but this may result into problems when booting. You may want to check out this thread for more info.

[Q] Migration advice?

I am currently on Verizon Gnex that is running Cyanogenmod. When I get my Note3 it will be my first time moving from one phone to another.
What would be the best way to move my apps (especially the data saved by each app) from a rooted non-stock device to an unrooted stock device?
I currently have titanium backup but since root isnt yet available on the note 3 it doesnt sound like that will be useful.
Thanks for any help / advice you can give..
Although I have not tried it myself, Helium looks like a good option. Does not require root and developed by the infamous Clockworkmod.

I used Helium without issue

I used Helium and everything went swimmingly. Backed up everything on the Note 2, saved in Google Drive, then went to restore on my Note 3. The only drawback is that you have to have all of your apps already downloaded on your new device before you can restore them, though the app does link to that respective app in the Google Play store so that you can redownload it.
i also read about a fix for Titanium Backup users here:

Helium will let you back up the full apps as well as data. It just takes far longer to do so. I like some older versions of apps and some that are no longer available.
And Boom goes the dynamite! now Free

Prevent Phonesky.apk (Google Play store) from updating?

I keep flashing a custom themed version of Google Play but it keeps updating itself shortly after I install. I cannot find googleupdater.apk. I usually delete phonesky before I flash. Lucky patcher app doesn't work for it either. I am on 4.4.2. Anyone run into this before?

Did you check Google play app settings and uncheck auto update
Edit....
Just noticed lucky patcher custom patch for self update

My problem is not with apps updating. Its with the play store itself updating. I want to stop it... don't know how. Anyone successful in this? Again, I'm on 4.4.2.

Did you read my edit about lucky patcher

Yes... I did that. Lucky Patcher makes a phonesky.odex file that's supposedly meant to prevent an autoupdate but it still eventually auto updates phonesky.apk anyways, giving me the ugly normal play store.

After some digging around, apparently Google Services Framework seems to be the culprit. They have updated it in such a way that replacing it (and vending/phonesky.apk) with an older version causes it to stop working.
If you dare clear the data from GSF, You'll be unable to sign into Google nor the play store, and the only way to fix it is to factory reset or to restore a backup if you have one. This seems to be the case only if you're on 4.4.x. JB and ICS don't have this problem for some reason because I had no issues using a modded color themed version of Google Play.
Hopefully someone will take notice and create a fix.

i dont have issue regarding this. after root i restored all my apps using TB. no force close so far. accept game hacker and all xposed apps.
I have same problem!
Any fix!
Seem no one care this topic . I have the same problem
There was an issue of fc last time on kitkat. There is an app called tb restore fixer in playstore to resolve that issue. Maybe you're using an older version of tb?
Sent from my SM-N9005
Could be, or maybe the restoration procedure is wrong. After a fresh ROM installation you can't/ shouldn't use the TB's Restore everything feature, you will have to use the restore missing apks only feature.
Just a Q , you upgraded your device from Kitkat to LP ? If so , that seems to be the issue.
Hi Y'all.
I just did the exact same thing. Restoring a KK backup on LP that is.
I've had maybe a handful of apps force close on me.
Removing and reinstalling fixes the issue.
I know - it isn't exactly what was intended, but a handful out of maybe 250 apps is still a huge time saver.

Elo.

Custom ROM, need Verizon Visual Voicemail app back..

I've recently flashed FreedomROM to my Verizon variant Galaxy S5. Everything is running incredibly smooth; aside from being unable to access Visual Voicemail or find it on the play store. All other Verizon apps are also gone, which is fine. The only two I used were VVmail and the My Verizon app for data and account stuffI have tried installing a 3rd party app but it messed up my data services.
Can anyone recommend how to get this back? I'm unable to find an .APK for my specific device, nor am I able to find it on the play store.
Thanks! (also, I hope this is the correct place for asking)

You would have to pull it from a stock verizon rom or if you use titanium backup and made a backup you could restore it with titanium backup won't get it from playstore unless it on your phone

I am of course unable to retrieve this app due to being on a different ROM. I also do not have this particular app backed up via Titanium.
