When I bought my blade I threw away the carrier sim that came with it because I erroneously thought it wasn't necessary in order to unlock it. So, I wonder if it's possible to unlock it without the use of a locked sim?
WARNING : UNLOCKING YOUR PHONE WILL AVOID YOUR WARRANTY!
you can unlock it with this app all you need to do is writing down the code this app will give you then put your other sim inside your phone and write that code.

I was told that if i root the phone and then install busybox and Galaxy_S App that my phone would be unlocked? would this work for att and when i go to brazil?
For a while there was galaxy unlock app that worked for me and others (and not for some). It only required root to use and it would spit out your unlock code.

I've used that app on a friends phone who went out of the country. It couldn't find the unlock code, but I used the second option and it patched a folder. It worked great. Unlocked in seconds. VERY EASY.

Just call T-Mobile and ask for a code?
So what's the way to unlock it? Thanks!

You get an unlock code (from t-mobile or hacked) put a foreign sim card (at&t works) reboot phone. It'll ask for code. You put the code in and it's unlocked.
What is the way hacked? The phone has no service atm
yes it is,just follow the instructions carefully
No you need to unlock it ,If you go Brazil or other country means you need to unlock your samsung Vibrant Phone,After unlock it use with any GSM Network Sim card.I haven't used that Apps Unlocking,You can better get the unlock code from the site
Theunlockarena.com/samsung/rs13wp8/ and unlock SAMSUNG VIBRANT.
Get SGS Unlock from the Market. The free one might work (for me it didn't), but the one that is not free got the job done.

Nope it doesn't but there is a much simpler way and it lets you keep your warranty.
I see you are with Rogers. You can try talking to them sometimes they give you the unlock code for free if you are a good customer.
If that doesn't work you will need to buy the unlock code from somewhere. Here is an example http://www.cellphoneunlock.net/ I believe they are $8
after they email you the code you must enter into your Xperia play. Here is a video of how it is done.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDFfP2Q7YXg
And there you have it a sim-unlocked xperia play with warranty and this unlock will never go away not even if you flash the phone.
Note: If your main reason to sim-unlock is to open the bootloader then I'm sorry this won't be able to do that.
simply can i booot my phone? I tried going by instruction, at SE website it did give me the code, but it got stuck where it says find the driver and sE says it cant be boooted. so im wondering if that is true meaning there is no other way for now?1
how about if i pay to one of these unlocking websites and try agian?!
Root with gingerbreak. Unlock sim with cellphoneunlocker.net. Do not unlock bootloader as there isnt any reason to yet. Just my 2 cents

I have Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M (Fido)
Andriod Version : 4.2.2
Baseband : I337MVLUAMG1
Build : JDQ39.I337MVLUAMG1
How do I unlock the sim? I would like to use Bell sim later on.....
please don't bring up the idea of buying unlock code....
Buy yourself an unlock code and save a lot of headache. Otherwises there's something I think they call The Google, our something like that. I hear you can find all sorts of stuff with it. I'd probably try something like "sim unlock s4 xda"
We have Canadian i377m.
WE ARE FREE TO DO WHAT EVER WE WANT WITH OUR PHONES. It's like having a Google edition
And a simple yes. YOU Can Downgrade To What is the oldest firmware, so you can free unlock

Instructions should be free once an unlock code is purchased!
Anyway, the process is pretty simple.
Get an unlock code and then turn the phone on with a non-accepted SIM card. If the phone is locked, it'll then request the unlock code from there. If any company charges for those instructions, they're ripping people off.

Buy an unlock code. I've tried the free method and it FUBARed my phone. Unlock codes wouldn't work even after trying to undo the free unlock. The only thing that was able to unlock my phone was a paid USB unlock method.
$15 is not that expensive compared to network bricking your S4 with an unreliable free method.
Hi all just bought a new Z1 on Virgin/T mobile and asked Virgin for the unlock code which they charge £15:32p for.
My question is they told me it would be sent in the post and I take it is some type of code they send me but how or what is the sequence to enter the code to make my Z1 unlocked to all networks.

All you need to do is insert a working SIM card from another provider, power up the device and follow the instructions. Really easy.

Many thanks for the quick reply and can't understand why they have to send the code via post rather than just telling me over the telephone after my payment was cleared and must only be for security reasons.
Be careful when you enter the code, you only have 3 chances to enter the correct code before the phone becomes permanently locked.
