Hi, I've just discovered getjar doesn't show me the gold apps category ! This happens only on my phonr (oxygen rom) or getjst is become a boring alternative market?

Getjar has already removed the gold apps category! Now they have some kind of reward scheme, but definitely worse than before.
Getjar has really become another boring alternative market

You get "GetJar gold" by installing free apps. Then you can get paid apps with those coins

If you are rooted you can use an app called AdFree. It basically edits the hosts files do the ads are blocked.

Yes, the way to remove ads is to buy the apps. If you're so ungrateful to the developers who are releasing their apps for free, then you shouldn't download them.
This is the reason why the Android Market will never match the App Store. If no one can make money from their apps, no one will release apps.

... speaks a google stock owner? Or ... is it you, steve?
Come on, those ads don't consume that much data...And considering all the apps that are free, if you like something, buy the donate version or at least click on some ads in the app...
ignore me i misread.

Speaks someone who respects the hard work by many developers in creating apps I use on a daily basis.

And what about the people living in countries where they can't buy applications from Market beacuse there is no paying method yet?

Obviously you missed the point. If a user removes the ads from an ad-supported app, then the developer isn't making money.

There's plenty of websites where you can buy Android apps from. Thankfully, unlike iOS, you can install apps from any number of sources.
I know the sdk was just released for developers but motorola has had it for awhile. I wonder why they did not release a single app? I say a very lazy move on motorola's end. Oh and by the way I love this tablet I am addicted to it.
I think because its a Google Experience device it doesn't come with any extra apps, just the stock ones.

Ya I didn't expect for them to have a ui on top of honeycomb but a single app would of been cool.
Maybe I am just being picky.

Lazy means..... being the first honeycomb tablet to market?... its a google experience... have u seen motoblur...... you do not want that on your phone....
What app did you program? you lazy?
Wait, haven't people always been complaining that Motorola keeps putting software on their devices?
I dunno about you, but I prefer when Motorola doesn't do anything to their ROMs. It delays updates, and its never good software anyways.
i agree, moto can keep their hands off the software portion.
I'm glad they left it alone. No bloatware is fine by me!
on wp7 HTC made some nice apps for their phones. You don't have to use them but they are good apps. I am not talking about a ui like blur or sense.

No thanks to any bundled apps from the manufacturer, as all of that is stored in read-only system memory. If I want a weather widget, I'll write it myself or get one from the Market.
you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't
Bundled Apps
I would be fine with bundled applications, as long as I have the option to uninstall the apps I don't want.
Just glad they didn't force Motoblur on it.

This. Some of the manufacturer apps are nice but most of them are waste of space.
anyways, count me in to the people that are happy there is no motoblur on our xooms.

What do you mean by that? Something like Amazon, or maybe something like AppBrain, AppAware, Android PIT, etc.?
Or maybe even black markets?

AFAIK the amazon market is not avaliable outside the US
At least, it's not avaliable in Germany
For me it´s Appbrain.
In the last couple of days appbrain is mostly down(the site and the sync in android).
They all have there pro's and cons,
Android market is good, only mainly ... install direct etc but no backups.
App brain can be a bit clunky .. but . does back up apps... again it installs from the Android market ..
The others?... not so good.

No offense but did you pay for it or is it a pirated version? Because I know my friend had pirated version and same thing happened to him.
If you bought it then I have no idea, maybe try re-installing it?
Yea I got the apk lol I didn't buy it

That is the problem, your Android isn't registered on the server for Fancy Widgets, so it will not allow you to access the skins and themes.
Even though it might sound ****-ish, but I'm glad some devs have stated putting in these checks to keep people from pirating their hard work. It's one thing if the dev puts their work for free to the community (like coolbho3000 does here with SetCPU), but for those that go searching for pirated copies of paid apps... no pity when the app or phone quits working.
It's like 3 bucks right? I don't get it
I have Fancy Widgets and its way better than Beautiful. I got mines at getandroidstuff.com paid for.
