Is there an app working for wifi tethering on x10 ?
Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether - search on google play
the X10 for tethering. Try PdaNet
If you're trying to transfer phone internet to the computer via a usb cable, you could try using PdaNet.
I've been using it for some years now and its worked great! Just a simple run on android and run on pc and your connected.
There is also the built in tethering that some android phones have. Personally, I've never been able to find it in the settings menu so I had to install a shortcut to it.
You can look up "Tethering Shortcut" in the market and use that to access the menu.
If you meant internet on the computer via wifi tethering, you can try Baracle Wifi Tethering.
The application does require root, but if your willing to, I've heard the application works wonders.
Some phones also have the option for making a hotspot with the phone.
If you want to try, you can install that "Tethering Shortcut" I meantion earlier and seeing if it includes a menu for activating the hotspot.
How to tether GT-P3113 as client to a nokia phone?
I´m trying to tether my GT-P3113 whit my Nokia E71.
Can´t made it work using PDANet Tablet, and joikuspot on E71
I have been read a lot of post on many sites without success
I´ll like use tether over WiFi but if I can't I´ll like try over bluetooth
Some one can help me?
I use FoxFi. It tethers over Wi-Fi. You don't need a rooted phone or a specialized plan to use it. It's free in the Play store.

I've been searching on xda and google how to use CM tethering on my G1 to my Mac. I cannot figure it out for the life of me, that is why I am posting this. Is there a step by step for the mac? If so, can someone please help me out?
I'm not sure what you mean by CM tethering. Maybe Cyanogen Mod?
Anyway Tethering is pretty easy with a PC.
Root put on a tethering app. The last five ROMS I flashed on my MT3G had the app built in. Currently using Super-D. Should be the same for a G-1.
Open the app. By default it's wifi, although you can configure Bluetooth. But Wifi doesn't require pairing.
Just start the tethering app on the phone and it becomes an access point. Just like a wireless router.
So on the PC I search for wireless signals and find the one with my phones name and connect. I could add security if I wanted, but rarely do.
So if you can connect to a router with a Mac I guess you could tether.
I'm just assuming of course because I've touched a Mac for about 3 minutes in my life.
I don't know if that will help you at all. I'm assuming you've rooted and installed cyanogen? I think his apps come in an accessory pack or something. Cyanogen is honestly more complicated for me to install that Super-D or WG which have everything all in one for the most part. Sometimes they need ringtones.
Anyway do you have a 'Tethering App' on your phone? It looks like a green wedge.
I think OSX lacks the drivers for wired tethering (includes the settings option), but you might have luck with the wireless tethering app.
I have a Mac. Just use a wireless tether app. When you turn it on your phone will act as a wireless router. Get your Mac to scan for wireless networks and you should find one that says G1 Tether. Connect to it and you should be good to go. This is all I have ever done and I have never had any problems.

So like I said, it should be just as simple as on a PC.
Assuming the OP has rooted his G1.
(Except you can't do it through USB)
yeah i always use the wireless tether for root users app at work, it works just fine for me =], in all of about 2-3 clicks isntant internet =]
same for me
I have a Mac. Just bought it like, 3 days ago. It was Tethering very well until 7 hours after I bought it, and now it doesn't connect to my G1. Any help?
When you plug in the phone and it brings up the list, with share internet at the bottom. Is there any way to make that option free, or replace it within the menu with something that is free?
Yes, but it needs to be written into a custom ROM.
ya, I know that lots of custom roms have that option, but why not just use wireless tether? If you're still on stock rom, just go into the market and download it. It's free and works great.
Why not just use the once sprint bundles with the phone? The sprint mobile hotspot one.
Is there some disadvantage to that?
the mobile hotspot is unavailable in the same way usb tether is unavailabe. Sprint does not want you to use your phone for tethering without paying them an extra $30 a month.
Can't you use EasyTether from the market? Doesn't require root. Try the free version and if you like it you could buy the $10 version that allows https access. I have never used it but the description states it can do this without root probably because it is using USB so cannot work as a hotspot for multiple PCs at one time and you did state you cared about the USB tethering vs wireless.
I believe barnecle ? I think is the name, also allows usb.
Barnacle is for root as are all wireless tether apps..

Why USB tether?
I would like USB tether because most of the time when I don't have internet, I also don't have power. Why would I plug my phone into my computer, only to turn on the computer's wifi and turn on the phones wifi to make the connection?
If I can only have the 3g/4g radio going, and no wifi on either device, I get better battery life all around.
Here is what I use for USB tethering. It requires a little bit of setup (and adb), but does not require root, and is completely free. In my opinion it works much better than EasyTether or PDA Net

I use Ubuntu, so I can help with setup if anyone needs it. For OSX and Windows, you are on your own.
Hi everybody,

USB and WIFI thethering works like a charm. But I would like a way to tether internet via bluetooth to extend the battery life of my phone. Also WIFI tethering is fine when connecting several devices, but I just want to connect my new Asus Transformer.
I have tried to find the awnser on this forum and via google but I only find guides about USB of WIFI tethering.
I hope there is a way. If there is please let me know.
Thanks,
Henkyie
Ps. Replies about my search capabilities are also welcom but please include the link where I could have found the information
I have used "Wireless Tether for Root Users" app on my previous Android phone, it has Bluetooth tether mode which worked perfectly for me. Not sure if it will work well with SGSII but may worth a shot.
Wireless tether for root doesn't work in bluetooth mode on the sgs2 (yet)

As per the description in the market 'Wireless Tether for Root Users' requires Netfilter-enabled kernel for its working. I don't know if it is added in any of the kernels for S2.
Yes, bluetooth tethering would be helpful. Any other way to achieve it?
theres so many tethering apps?? any of u guys have a preference of which ones u like? i need to get one to tether my nexus 7 off my tmobil sgs3.
i was thinking about
Wifi Hotspot & USB Tether Pro
wifi tethering by open garden
easy tether lite

FoxFi been good to me as a hotspot when i need one dont know if works well on the s3 since i have the s2
I'll be using FoxFi on my Desire for Bluetooth tethering (instead of WiFi Hotspot to save battery). And then PDANet on the Nexus 7 to pair to the phone's Bluetooth.
I haven't done this yet but this is how I believe it works from what I've read.
bump plz
I used foxfi to do Bluetooth tethering from my Droid Bionic. Required no other apps on my Nexus 7, and seems to work great. I have no clue if Verizon can tell I am doing this. I don't plan on using it much at all though, just occasionally while I travel.

Yeah, just started playing with this yesterday and hit the same wall. Interestingly chrome works great when I have the connection setup this way but nothing else will see the connection, not gmail, now or any other app. To heck with the battery life, I have a monster battery on my Infuse now, tried wifi tether but my Nexus won't even see it. =/ Will keep messing with it though and see if I can come up with anything.
Gmail, Play and a lot of other apps seem to work without any issues through bluetooth tethering.
BBC News app thinks there's no internet connection though, so that's one app I can't use.
Loading web-view of an article in gReader Pro informs me there's no internet connection but loads the web page just fine in dolphin browser after clicking on OK.
The Nexus 7 can be configured to do USB tethering natively
i keep getting force close on foxfi had to uninstall

If you're using the free version it has a time limit of 30 minutes, after which you need to restart it.
Has anyone tried using FoxFi for wireless tethering on the Turbo 2? I'm considering getting the phone since I can do so and keep my unlimited data, but I rely on the mobile hotspot for my Internet at home. I know I can switch between my current rooted S4 and the Turbo 2, but really rather be able to use the paid version of FoxFi on the until root is achieved. I've tried the free version of FoxFi and it works fine, it just has a 500 MB limit per use before it disconnects. I like the look of the Turbo 2 and think it'd be a great phone to have. Any information that can be provided would be helpful. Thanks in advance. Oh, and for those who've every used a recent Samsung phone and miss the dual window thing, there's a cool app in the store called SideControl that provides dual window function with the use of another app called xHaloFloatingWindow you can either find in the XDA forums or download through the Xposed app.
It won't work
OP. You're saying that FoxFi works on your non-rooted, completely stock Lollipop Turbo 2? What firmware version are you on?
I loveD using the app in the past, but ever since KitKat it has been blocked on Motorola phones as far as I know. Would be awfully nice if it was usable again.
I don't have the phone, I was just considering it.
You can use USB tether and then from the computer in pdanet there's an option for WiFi tether where you can make your own WiFi name and password. It worked on the original Turbo, but sometimes it would have issues connecting to other devices. I tried it on the turbo 2, but I think there was an issue with it working.
The was my old post in the OG Turbo section

I have found a way to use WiFi tether, but you need a few things.
1. FoxFi/PDANet
2. Laptop
3. Micro-USB cable
4. Phone
There is a work around for Wi-Fi tether though using FoxFi/PDANet. It requires a laptop though. When you use USB mode, connect it to your laptop and then when you right click the pdanet icon again there's an option that say "WI-FI share". Click on that and then it'll give you an option to set up a router name and password. I don't know if only certain laptops are capable of this, but I have a Dell 15R and it works just fine. At least then I can connect to my tablet and old s4 that way.
Your phone will need to be connected to your laptop the whole time, but at least you'll be able to connect to multiple devices at the same time.
