For my personal opinion the 200DPI is the best one, it's not to small as 160 and not to big, it's just perfect and compatible with the Tabblet UI.
How to?
(1) Install android SDK Tools download here;
(2) Be sure to check the adb option while installing;
(3) Go to windows Run and open cmd (hotkey is winflag + R);
(4) Now type cd\;
(5) Then type cd "installation path of adb" (prev. cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools);
(4) Now connect the phone and reboot your'e android in to recovery and go to mount, mount the /system;
(5) Now in the cmd type: adb pull /system/build.prop c:\;
(6) Open the build.prop (located on c:\ drive, main folder) file with any text editor and search for ro.sf.lcd_density=;
(7) After the "=" just put a number like "200" (prev. ro.sf.lcd_density=200);
(8) Save the file;
(9) Go back to the cmd and now type: adb push c:\build.prop /system;
(10) Now type: adb shell;
(11) Now type: chmod 644 /system/build.prop;
(12) Reboot.
Thats pretty much it, i know it looks like, OMG, but it's very simpel if you done it one or two times you will now this without watching this topic again so it will work if you just follow the steps 1-by-1. Now don't be that smartass that says, don't type the "" symbols.
If you got any questions just ask and dont forget to thank
Btw im now responsoble if you done something stupid xD
You do NOT have to do all that to change the DPI. You don't even have to use ADB. Just use ROM Manager or open up the build.prop file in Root Explorer using Text Edit, find the line and change it, save and reboot. Some ROMs have the ability to change in the settings.
This thread isn't really needed in my opinion.
And don't forget if you use a custom dpi other then 320, 240, 160 etc lots of apps in the playstore won't run anymore.

Well, all my tabblets apps still work on 200DPI
The app, rom tools lite is doing all that, and more
Just move the slider to the dedired dpi, and apply
Reboot - finished !

Apparently, because I've never had any problems with just changing the build.prop file and rebooting. I never use rom manager, I was just saying it does it if you want an app to do it instead of digging in system files.

Ehh....I wouldn't use Stunner right now. Don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic ROM! However, it is still on a faulty kernel and we don't want people bricking their Notes. Do a ROM like Asylum or ParanoidAndroid or CM9 itself. Anything on the CM9 kernel.
But, every OP explains very well how to flash. If people would just read it.
You can use whatever file manager app you want as long as it has root access. Go to /system/build.prop, edit the line, reboot. It takes exactly 7.4 seconds.
(some of you have to change the permissions, so tap menu, permissions/properties and set to RW-R-R, reboot)
request for a move to general threads...nothing new here mate no offence...changing dpi can be done using apps (lcd density modder, rom toolbox etc) or manually by root explorer...and lets leave the tutorials for rom installations to the devs OP...
And this is in development why?
Use density modder app from market..
close thread?

Causes the bricking because of the eMMc bug that corrupts your data partition (well, the motherboard is being replaced on those that have been bricked).

No you are not technically.....because you are on Stunner now. Stunner is not safe. Abyss is a GB kernel so that won't work. Stunner will need updating before it is "safe".
Basically, read the OPs and anything that says "CM9 kernel" is safe right now.

Abyss is used to restore nandroid backups on ICS since CWM can't.
Well, if you wipe data or do anything with BIG files you could potentially mess up your eMMc by "activating" that bad bug.
Personally, I would immediately ODIN back to GB, root it, and go to a CM9 based ROM.

Not at all. There is similar data in this one, to the one you're referring to.
The image of the one you're referring to is NOT a Root image.
it's a normal image. If you have a problem like that, try reflashing it, checking the md5 hash on that - making sure it matches someone else's that works AND/OR, just re-download the file.
Either way, you probably want to re-flash that PB00IMG.zip. But if you reflash it and the same problem happens, you will want to re-download it, or check to make sure the file is 100% intact.

OK guys, here it is.
For those unfamiliar with Voodoo : http://project-voodoo.org/
This kernel includes ONLY the voodoo lagfix, no color fix ATM.
For FAQs : http://project-voodoo.org/faq
Also now included is the option of using aosp style bootanimations. The attached zips include one. If you want to use your own, then place a compatible bootanimation.zip in either /system/media or /data/local.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/33932-bootanimation-zip-file-explained.html
http://www.dkszone.net/how-to-create-custom-boot-animation-for
First off, have PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE!!!!!!
It takes a WHILE on the first boot to do the conversion and copy over your data. If you decide to revert back to stock, it will take a WHILE then to convert back. Don't reboot, let it do its thing.
Once you've flashed this kernel, don't just go flashing other kernels. Voodoo changes some key parts of your system and you will have fix them by hand if you flash another kernel without removing voodoo first. To remove, simply do adb shell "> /sdcard/Voodoo/disable_lagfix" and then reboot. If you want to re-enable voodoo, then remove that file.
If you have less than 220mb of space remaining on internal storage, then clean some stuff out before flashing this. I have also included a 1.2GHz overclocked kernel.
For those who get excited from staring at Quadrant all day: I KNOW YOUR SCORES ARE NOT AS HIGH AS THEY ARE WITH THE EXT2 "LAGFIX". This is to be expected. Voodoo does not mess with /dbdata but only /data. THIS RESULTS IN ABSOLUTELY NO LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY OR USEABILITY.
If you are running the ext2 "lagfix", please uninstall it before using this. If you have problems, wipe data and try again. Voodoo should retain data, but nothing is foolproof. Be prepared to lose your data! If you have problems with force closes after uninstalling, make sure to wipe using the option in the privacy menu.
Thanks to Dirrk and DataSpree for help getting the kernel in a useable condition, and thanks to SuperCurio for the original lagfix and clues on how to get it working with the Fascinate.
If you would like to look at the code for yourself, please check my github @ github.com/jt1134
Enjoy!
******EDIT******
For anyone who flashed v0.1, I made a stoopid. Sorry. I've attached a fixed version. You will need to uninstall the current voodoo before flashing this. To uninstall simply do : adb shell "> /sdcard/Voodoo/disable_lagfix" . or, create a blank file in your favorite manner. You can also do this with a file explorer program such as Astro or Root Explorer. Then reboot. Once you've booted into android successfully, you can install the attached zip. If voodoo does not reinstall for you, make sure you have deleted /sdcard/Voodoo/disable_lagfix. Repeat: this is only if you are running v0.1!

Updated tweaks are at bottom of this post
Here is a flashable zip of 3 scripts that when put together speed up your phone and make it faster.
The niftyconiptionstweaks was meant only for the HTC Evo 4g but if your phone supports "init.d" then try it out if you want to and please report back. It may not even flash in recovery because the phones are different but its worth a shot. If it works, please post saying it does and what kind of phone you have. The Legit Zip should work for any phone.
To determine if your phone supports "init.d", download a file manager like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, go to "system", then "etc". If you come across a folder named "init.d" then your phone may support it.
I did not write these scripts, I just edited them to work like Car-O-Dopes tweaks. It basically has the same values as Car-o-Dopes tweaks. It is best to use this on a Sense rom. I used the S97ramscript, KickAssKernel, and 02sictweaks but I changed the values of each script to match what Car-o-Dopes tweaks do, and I wanted to share this with you all because it makes installing these tweaks easier and faster. Thanks to zeppelinrox for the kickasskernelizer, Juwe11 for the S97ramscript, Smokinl1337 for the 02sicktweaks, coffehandle for giving me the idea when he made his own tweaks, and Car-o-Dope for coming up with the ultimate combination of out-of-memory settings and sysctl tweaks that make your phone smooth as butter.
I use this on my HTC Evo 4g running Shooter E3D, with AnthraX kernel and it works like a charm.
I am in no way responsible if your device messes up or anything unwanted happens to it. Use at your own risk.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40376256/niftyconiptionstweaks.zip
Instructions: Follow Exactly
1) Make a nandroid backup incase something goes wrong or you want to revert.
2) Download a file manager like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer (I use Root explorer).
3) Open up root explorer and go to "system", then "etc", then "init.d". Click on the "Mount R/W" button so it turns to "Mount R/O" (that way you can delete files).
4) Delete any or move to a folder on your sdcard (incase you want to revert) any ram scripts or ram tweaks you may have that is in the "init.d" folder (examples of ram scripts or tweaks are 01sysctl, 06sysctl, 02sicktweaks, S97ramscript, 99supercharge, and 98Kickasskernel).
5) Also if you are running v6 supercharger, you need to un-supercharge. If you are running Kickass Kernelizer, you need to un-kernelize and do not run those scripts while you have the niftyconiptionsscripts installed.
6) Uninstall any ram manager apps or task killers and do not use these.
7) After you uninstall all of that, reboot your phone and verify that none of the scripts you had before are still installed. (it will mess with the scripts you are about to install).
8) Boot into recovery (preferably Amon Ra).
9) Once in recovery, you need to mount /system, then mount /data.
10) Find the niftyconiptionstweaks.zip you downloaded and flash it.
11) After you flash the zip, go back and unmount /system. Don't mess with the /data because after you flashed the zip, it automatically unmounted the /data for you.
12) Reboot phone and enjoy. Let your phone set at the lock screen for about 2 minutes, unlock and let it set for another 2 minutes to let it settle in. Your phone will become dramatically smoother after about an hour.
UPDATE:
Nifty Coniptions Tweaks
Updated niftyconitpionstweaks. Install just as you would before and follow directions as posted above. I got rid of some unnecessary settings in the scripts. Also your sdcard read ahead speed will change to 512kb which is the optimal value for the evo.

Here is The Legit Zip I just put together. This has the same settings as the V6 Supercharger on option 8 and the Kickasskernalizer. I did not change any values to these so its the same as installing those two scipts manually. Again, I did not write these scripts, I just put them into a tweak bundle to make it easier to install. Thanks to zepplinrox for making the V6 supercharger and the Kickasskernalizer. To install this, follow the same instructions in the first post.
To see if the settings stuck, download Rom Toolbox Pro and go to the performance tab, Kernel tweaks or Sysctl Tweaks (depending on what version of the application you have) and see if it reads as Min Free KBytes - 4096, Dirty Ratio - 95, Dirty Background Ratio - 60, VFS Cache Pressure - 10. Then go to the Auto Memory Manager and see if it reads as 6,12,150,165,180,200.
If you would like me to add another version of the V6 Supercharger just let me know.
Have fun and hit that thanks button if you like it.

EDIT: This doesn't work on ODEX ROMs! That would be stock ROMs, as most custom ROMs are deodexed. If it is an odex ROM, you can do the mod, but you have to do it manually (the web app doesn't work). Check out the second post in the supercharger thread for a how-to. But if you are on a custom ROM the method in the video will work!
Alright, so I have been reading about how to supercharge ICS for awhile, but the process looked daunting. However I figured it out, and it works great! This will work on ANY ROM, so try it out!
I have been using this for awhile, and it's just super smooth. I've been using it a lot lately, and it hasn't given me a bit of lag yet! It's just gone!
What is V6?
V6 supercharger is a script that manages the RAM memory. This makes multi-tasking much faster, and it knows when to kill off apps that are taking a lot of RAM. This makes your phone a lot faster and more efficient!
Here is the person who made the script: V6 Supercharger
Here is a dl link to the script: DOWNLOAD LINK

1. Download the supercharger script from the link above and put it on the root of your SD card.
2. Get an app called script manager from the market. It's free. Open it up and click on the supercharge script from the list of what's on your SD card. Click the SU button, then hit run.
3. Go through the setup. Set scrolling speed to 1. When they ask if you want to integrate it into the system, say yes. You will get to a list of about 30 options after a little bit.
4. Select number 6 (I know I said 7 in the video, but 6 has better multitasking) for this phone, and hit enter. It will go through a whole bunch of stuff.
5. It will ask you to superclean and restart. SAY NO. You'll do that inn a minute. Just hit the home button.
6. Open the browser on your phone and go to : android.mimic.ca and hit the upload button. There will be a popup, select root explorer (Install it if you don't have it already). Go into system/framework/ and select the services.jar file. It will take you back to the website. Hit upload. The page will reload. Now select the CMW flashable zip option and download it. Go to root explorer and move that to the root of your SD card.
7. Reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvic, then flash the zip. Reboot. Done! Enjoy the speedieness!

Let me know what ya think!
Alright, so enough questions have been asked that I should start giving answers to them here.
Q. Do I need to re-flash the file in recovery if I want to make changes?
A. Not if you make changes to the the supercharger script (ie. change options). The only time you have to flash it is if you upgrade/change ROMs. Just remember to make a new one, and don't flash the old file!
Q. Isn't option "X" better/faster/easier on battery?
A. Play around with them and see what works for you. I like option 6. Not too aggressive, but it still keeps control. Just use the options that are for your phone (ie 512HP for this phone because it has that much RAM. So option 5, 6, or 7). I also use the nitro-lagnullifier. It makes things even faster!
Q. Does it affect battery life?
A. Yes, in a good way! I get better battery life.
Q. How do I know if it worked??
A. Open up script manager, and go to the supercharger file. let it run, and once you get to the menu with all the options, it will tell you if you are supercharged or not right below that.
Those were the most commonly asked questions. If they don't answer your questions then post 'em!
battery life
so this looks promising but how does it the effect on battery life with ICS.
works great... noticeable difference

This shouldn't hurt the battery. I used to use it on my Epic fairly often especially once the Gingerbread leaks started coming out. There are several different routes to go with the script too. It can also be used to improve multitasking such as when you have multiple apps open at once.

If anything it makes the battery life better. It's really a win-win!
thanks for the quick tut. I was gonna try using it on aokp as well, then i saw ics you had to do something extra and i just stopped looking into it lol - It's much easier than i expected.
Btw rocket, you should try the touch cwm recovery personally I think it's easier to navigate and use

Thanks for the .zip. I was going to do this earlier but the instructions on the page here in XDA was kinda hard to understand >__>
EDIT - Anyone have a edited odex file for stock rom?

I looked into it awhile ago, and it was even more complicated. The web app made it really easy.
I'll try the touch recovery out. I'll flash it through fastboot in a bit. I'm just used to this one from my EVO.

Sorry I don't. I just use custom ROMs!
just installed along with the KAK
haven't had it for long, but first impression's that there's quite a lot more ram available on boot, and pretty smooth
thanks for your instructions! they were helpful
Thanks for the writeup and video. I tried this on my Evo a while back, but the thread was huge and difficult to navigate.
Just ran the script, so we'll see how it goes.
Awesome. Thanks!

Thank you so much man. The original thread is a mess but you made it easy!
phone went into infinite boot loop.. =[
had stock ics w/ root. tried to do the ics mod. I think odex file but when i tried running the one click script, i think something went wrong when i rebooted
can someone please explain to me why in the instructions it says for me to upload my services.jar file to this guy's website???? That just seems very fishy!!
Why can't we patch the file locally??? Why does your server have to do it for me when an app could easily be written to do it without me uploading my services.jar to some random website I don't trust!

You can patch it manually. Check out the link in the OP. However, it requires unziping the file, opening it in notepad++, editing the code, zipping it back up, putting it back in the phone, and editing some stuff with terminal emulator. It's a bit over most people's heads, and the website makes it easy by making the patched services.jar a flashable zip.
If you want to do it, be my guest. It's all in the second post of the supercharger thread.

I have only used it on custom ROMs. The web app doesn't work for odex ROMs (stock), but it will work on custom ROMs. Try one of them out, it should work then. just titanium backup, flash new ROM, and restore backup. Won't loose your apps!
I can confirm this is working on the cyberg rom...my min ram is 144mb now under performance setting...my phones seems snappier now!

Sweet! I have 125 MB min free. What setting did you use on the supercharger?
Here is just some of what is changed. Mine isn't just a stock port, mine has stuff removed. dave71670's Salty Rom is in the second post.
Now without further ado, here is my V26 Test Release
Wipe Data/Factory Reset/Wipe Dalvik Cache/Flash Rom/Flash Addons/Advanced Fix Permissions In Recovery. If your power button randomly stops working from flashing my rom or anything else happens and you blame me I am going to laugh at you. If you do not know what you are doing, don't attempt to flash it. If you break it you fix it, I will help, but I am not responsible for anything.
My V26 Test Build = http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?iv6mz6cr82l663p
V26 Addons (Same As V25) = http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ja32agzq3o82ky3
Removed Apps & Files Folder (Some of them are newer than the old folder) = http://www.mediafire.com/?c0f17oxct7dq5
I am calling it a test release at this point, since I haven't ran it more than about an hour. I haven't had any problems though. If coming from CM10 or something else you will more than likely need to flash twice, first flash will go to around 15% and flash the kernel and reboot, second flash will go all the way and say install complete.
Changelog :
Based on 09/04/2012 Helly Bean
MMS updated with pop up notifications
Added https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.helroz.GSII_Repair&hl=en to the rom since I have noticed people complaining of losing there EFS folder a lot lately. I would download this on your current rom and back it up as long as you imei is correct, just to have it for all future releases of my rom or whoevers rom you decide to go to in case you ever lose your EFS folder which has your IMEI. It is a small app, is free and works great, I tried it by backing it up on my phone and then deleting my efs folder, then restoring it later with this program after I got the generic imei error. Credits go to Helroz for the app

renamed the two navbar menus
More Build.prop tweaks
Edited Build.Prop Look In About Phone
Kernel in rom is always the latest VC Kernel
Updated GPS Config
Changed Boot Animation, Wait for a few seconds on boot up if you think it froze, It did not.
Changed Modem To KC1
Changed Updater.sh to Flash Modem if you have a modem already installed or not.
I have also created what I would like to call Cbalts Launcher Program. I have 4 launchers in the removed files folder, Apex, Nova, Trebuchet, And Zeam. You can flash any of them and it will remove the default zeam, to get zeam back flash Removal Tool.zip which will remove all 4 of the launchers if you decide to install all four of them at once. Then reflash the launcher of your choice and that will be the only launcher you have. If you do not reflash a launcher after flashing Removal Tool.zip you will not have a launcher. All launchers remove zeam, but the zeam launcher, I set it up that way since zeam is the default launcher. If you want a new launcher, tell me your choice and link me to it and I will make a flashable zip for it.

Okay, since someone else already grabbed above me, I gotta say this.
This boot animation (cbalt) is beyond atrocious. The idea is not to have as much **** fly over the screen as possible. The last image looks like a 10 year old + ms paint.
Look at slim ics' animation. That one does it's job, looks good and classy.
I know I'm coming off as a troll, but it needs to be said.
I look forward to the rest of the ROM. Thanks a lot. I do really appreciate it.
I think the separate thread was a good idea.
Cool!
I may check this ROM out.
You may want to create a zip file for those who want to add back on any of the removed stuff.
I woud not need this as I use Titanium Backup.:victory:
factory reset?
is factory reset really necessary? i thought wipe data, cache partition and dalvik would be sufficient. and fix permissions too.
charging my cappy now. will report on the rom later.

Probably a wise idea since you are coming from a different JB ROM or an ICS ROM or GB.
I would imagine that subsequent flashes of this ROM would not require a factory reset or /system wipe once you are on this ROM.

Wipe data and factory reset are one and the same. Next time you flash take a look in recovery.

now that you mentioned it, it does looks familiar 'wipe data / factory reset' in cwm. initially i thought factory reset means formatting internal storage. i don't want that to happen.

I personally recommend a wipe every update of this rom, just to help avoid issues, since dirty flashing is never ideal. Yes you can dirty flash, would I do it no, I wipe every time even if it is just a little change I did in the rom, I like to try and avoid issues as much as possible.
Full wipe it is - format /system, too?
Anyways, you need to update your sig/link:

Yes I would do that to. Why do I need to update my sig? That link works. I still spend most of my time in CWM Flashing roms (mostly my versions though) .
Sounds like you've got a great rom here. The change log is GREATLY appreciated. Could you fill me in on the difference between "my v13" and devil v13 please. Do the "nightly 8/1 changes" apply to only the devil edition or your v13 as well? Thank you!

Most of the difference is the stuff that is removed from devils version in my version. There are some other differences, such as some build.prop changes, updater-script changes, gps changes and some other stuff. If you look at the first post it will show must of the stuff I removed.
PS I am working on CWM Flashable Zips to Restore All Apps I removed and then Individual Zips to restore just one app that you want or more than one. Also working on a flashable zip to restore media aka notifications, system sounds etc.

Yes they do, since his rom is my base that I improve more to my liking since I like a slimmer rom personally and dont use all the stuff I removed. He rom is an amazing rom and is perfect if you use all the stuff he includes.
quick question, if i am on Devil Edition V13 Aka 0801 Build, but want to try cbalt's V13 Release, does that require a wipe / factory reset? or could i just wipe cache and dalvik and flash?
pros - quick boot time, snappier than DerTeufel1980's V10 (rom which i was from), benchmarks show better scores than my previous rom (antutu, quadrant, linpack,nenamark,smartbench)
cons- not sure what you want to show in your bootanimation but i've seen better ones. changelog contains negativity. i don't know what happened between you and those 3 people but including rage in your rom does create some perceptions among users, at least me.
nonetheless, keep up the good work! with less anger perhaps

Was my first animation, haven't had time to create another one and improve on that one. If you don't like what I put in the changelog and don't like the rom, then don't install it. Simple as that. I make the rom primarily for me and share it to be nice.
Btw im not angry.
Updated OP-Included Folder with all removed files.
Wasn't sure which thread to post in:
Running Der Teufel version and only issue I'm noticing is SDCard not being mounted after a reboot. Have had to go into Settings -> Storage -> select Mount SDCard each time. This also causes my default ringtone/notification to show as "Unknown" and has to be reset.
Anyone else having similar issues?
