All Docks big on ICS - Xperia Arc General

Hi
I have the official ics build and when i change to another launcher like nova, apex, go launcher the dock are big than original dock from launcher. ( it doesn t affect the quality of the icons on dock)
I think Sony has modified Android system to put the Sony launcher with the dock big.
In GB the Sony launcher have the dock bigger but with other launchers are normal.
Any solutions to put the size on stock?

What options are there to change the way the dock looks on stock 2.1 (eclair)
Can i remove the background that surrounds the dock?
Can i add an icon, so instead of 4 there could be 5?
Can i change the icons?
Can i change the colors?
Can i swap the contacts for different app?
Can i change the dock style so i cant make it look like the iphones?

You should look at adw ex. Its 3 bucks but worth every penny.r

Your favourite Home / App Launcher for ICS

I recently moved to ICS and my favourite home/app launcher was Go Launcher EX but in ICS uses double a third to double more RAM.
Would welcome suggestions for alternatives, I tried Nova and Apex launchers but I like to put certain apps together in folders and have these folders both in app drawer and option to put its shortcut on home screen. Was unable to this in latter two. (Additionally I like to gesture directly to running apps. )
Let us know your favourite launcher in ICS and whether it gives the above requested function.
Thanks

I'm using Apex and I love it for its speed even if I've not played with all its features yet.
Stock launcher is the best
Teamhacksung ICS 4.03 Build 17
I've been using Nova since its beta12 and i have to say it is very fast and quite customizable... maybe you can try a themable launcher, like ADW, and install an ICS-theme to keep the look...
Try espier launcher.
Its kinda like miui so you won't have an app drawer.

Nova and Tsf Shell

I suggest the TFUI launcher.
Grate, smoothe, and not uses much RAM
Tried Zeam,Go launcher,nova,tsf,apex
Right now feel that Apex is the best one with regards to speed, ease of use & functionality except themes
you can try nova.
Another vote for Nova.
my favorite: go launcher
I try out Nova and apex launcher and finaly sty with the apex launcher because I like it slightly more. Also it is still free with all features and Nove is splitted into light and full version (full cost money). I try also the full Nova version but as I point out apex launcher is my favourite
my favourite is --> Zeam Launcher <-- because it's got old style, (old School ) and just simple to use , with no problems & enough speed for me

Nova for me.

best launcher?

What's the best launcher to use for the Transformer? I like the Espier HD (not officially supported but it works), but it has issues with removing apps from the home screen. Are there any other launchers that simulate the iPad home screen (and icons)?
Apex launcher. Doesn't do what you say but its the best in my opinion

Latest version of Apex Pro can have a dock. It also has the little notification badges on Gmail, MMS and Phone. It even has an option to turn the look of the folders to iOS. Apex can also use ADW Launcher icon packs... you should be able to find and iOS look a like ADW icon pack. Check it out. It may not simulate it exactly but it does has some aspects of iOS.
well what do you know, espier released a new version late last night/early this morning that is much more stable and reliable. how ironic.
You really should check this out.

What's the bets launcher for the Nexus 4 ?

I have been running Cyanogen Mod ROM for so long, and used to standard settings like making the screen grid 5x5, I know that is not an option with a stock Nexus.
What launcher would you recommend for the Nexus 4 that allows those tweaks ? I know there is Nova...Apex...and ADW is back again. Will these launchers still allow new 4.2 features to work, like the new notification stuff, etc... ?
The notification system is within the OS not the launcher so yes, you can choose Apex, Nova or ADW. I don't believe 4.2 makes any drastic changes to the launcher that will opt you to use the stock one instead of a third party alternative. Not to mention the devs for these launchers are still pretty active so if there's something new in the 4.2 launcher, you'll see them update it pretty quick on their launcher.
I'll personally be running ADW or Nova.
I'll probably use Nova. Nova and Apex are damn near identical minus a few differences. I paid for both, but originally started using Nova regularly because it felt smoother.

I'll probably use the stock one until CM10.1 or whatever they call it comes out, then Trebuchet.
I'm going to give Nova a shot. I use it on my GNex and it is pretty beast and suits my needs.
I paid for Nova prime I'm gonna use it lol. Fast as all hell on my nexus so I'll assume its faster on the four.

I use go launcher and Contacts EX
Nova and rest lack to many feature and aren't even free.......
Been using Nova with all my roms flashed and will use it with the N4!
Stock all day
I bought Nova back when it was on sale and haven't looked back since. It's pretty much the stock launcher (same source) but with added features.
Nova or Apex are both good. Apex better on battery but Nova is richer.

Which launcher do you prefer and why?

Title says it all. I am currently using Apex, but have wondered about Nova, Trebuchet etc...
Is there much of a difference between them? Also, if you select 'always' when asked which launcher to use (if you have more than one loaded) is there anyway to reverse that to use a different one?
BTW, I am using TWA_privs latest (0223) ROM and its unbelievably good...
Thanks....

I use the stock CM10.1 launcher. Trebuchet, I like the layout and settings for it. And t change launchers, go to setting an find the launcher you currently use user apps. And click clear defualts
For CM7 I prefer ADW EX and for 4.x.x+, I prefer Trebuchet I try to avoid launchers that will show up in the running category under Settings- Apps like Go Launcher and the newest ADW. The less running processes the better IS MY OPINION because the Kindle's limited memory.
I have grown to love Trebuchet because it usually is included as the stock launcher for JB ROMs. The reason I like ADW EX for CM7 is because ADW was included on the CM7 ROMs and one day I wanted to try the EX version of it and it was quite nice with the density hack to make the icons appear bigger.

holo launcher hd
I use holo launcher hd. It looks and acts a lot like apex and trebuchet, but has HD in the name (so its gotta be good!).
Try chameleon launcher..u would not come back to apex or trebuchet pr anything..and spb shell 3d is also a great launcher..very smooth..keep in mind that chameleon launcher is landscape only..

Chameleon Launcher is a good concept, but it never quite caught on. At first they released it for $12 in the play store. I got it and it need a lot of work it was still betas. I got a refund and haven't tried it since. I was reading reviews and it still is not up to par, with little actual customization and limited widgets. Makes it almost seem like ios
