Every time I flash a new ROM on my phone it seems like I have to learn and search the site how to do stuff, for some reason I can't flash other stock ROM's using PC Odin, I have already flashed a GB file but that is old and has an .md5 extension and I can't get into CWM from there, i've been at my phone for 4 hours now...trying to go from a bugged Samsung kernel to GB, so I can finally get to CM9. Not happy with this constant hassle with having to do this and that

The gaul of some people to come here and complain because THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Go hack your 2000 dollar flat screen tv to have android run on it... Then come back here. Or put a Mustang engine in your Toyota.
Oh, I'm sorry, there was a MAJOR BUG in the ICS kernel code that was bricking devices. Damn the developers for working around it and making it work and doing EVERYTHING in their power to warn you. Damn them.

It happens, I guess I needed to say something to vent my frustration, i'm sure for the majority of people on here it is easy to do these things, as for me...4 hours and more is just time consuming and I didn't mean to offend anyone...I appreciate people warning others and developing and I thank them for that.

That's about it for me. But first a point or two.
Why I came here, what I hoped to provide and why I'm done:
I will be the first one to acknowledge that TW have this thing down way better than I do! I am running Nero Beta 3 as I am typing this! It would have taken me forever to come up with a 2.2 mounting fix, FOREVER. Even more, they were kind enough to give me my own repo on their site. They have been great to me and I have learned so much from them.
BUT, I wanted to provide a little variety for people between the Eugene/Master/TW releases. I think I did just that.
Mjollnir: My first try at a rom, nothing more that just a really, really big theme.
sXe: My second try which included backwards compatible framework.
Volholl: My JK2 / JK6 / JL1 Hybrid
Volholl Valkyrie: Pure JL4
Volholl Ragnarok: Only known 2.2.1 port released for Vibrant, with working wifi and gps - even with the signal related soft boot bug, I was the only one brave enough to put it all on the line and release it,
Volholl PepperKake : Pure JL5 with all images, sounds plus, plus ripped from Nexus S dump
How is it so easy to criticize someone who spends countless hours putting something together for you for free? When you have done nothing for the community other than demand more?
As far as I know, everyone respects sombionix, yet even he has had to come on here and defend a stock release because everyone kept complaining that it MAY have included TW init - which it didn't.
So, that is my rant.
I will continue to release Roms, Themes, whatever you decide to call them - they just won't be posted on XDA for a while, or ever..
Sorry to see it came to this man since I think you have provided some really useful stuff. Sad how people feel the need to troll and criticize things needlessly but I will continue to follow you else where.
Woahhh... Wait, what happened.? I got back within the hour from being with family on Christmas.. More people trolling & flaming people? Didn't we just have a town hall meeting?
Yeah but some people just don't appreciate the hard work of you guys. All they do is come here and complain over little insignificant things because they apparently font get enough attention at home. I don't blame heathen at all for dumping this place. Good thing I can still use his stuff on tw forums.

I am new to this forum and I was lucky enough to grab your Nexus clone for the Vibrant. I absolutely love this rom. That is all.
Honestly, the Vibrant section of this site is going to hell with all these pr*cks pissing off those that actually do something for others. These are the worst of the worst, because not only do they not do anything, but they keep others from doing work as well. Do we really have to be such a$$es while offering criticism?

After recommending the wife to get an SGS she ended with a very very lag ridden one from orange UK.
Boy was I in the bad books LOL.
Right had to sort it for her... ended up in this forum.
Check one, no 3 button recovery so ran this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785201
Easy enough, confidence starting to build.
So built up the courage to root using the oneclick utility

Really easy, cheers.
More confidence gained.
Then used SGS Kernel Flasher App and installed Voodoo-stable-5.4.2-Froyo-2.2.1-GT-I9000-unsigned-update.zip

That was even easier, excellent application and kernel seems to have done the trick.

My phone hates aosp can't figure out what it is but every aosp Rom I've run works great for an hr or 2 the starts bootlooping, doesn't matter what Rom or kernel. I've run cm7.1, miui, decks, and salvagemod and about the time I'm finished getting everything set up BAM! bootloops. Most people do not Root their devices because they hear a lot of horror stories. Usually from other people who don't enough to fill a thimble with their knowledge. Either because they don't seek the correct information, or they do not follow directions properly. Believe me I'm related to a few of them . Know it alls, who nine out of ten times cannot even explain the terminology they throw around when they're " giving advice". If you take the time to explain to someone the Pros and Cons of Rooting a device. Hand them all the information you can, and let them make an informed decision. Most, not all, but most will choose to Root their device. I'm done with my rant . Now back to what I was doing. Rooting a device for one of those miscreants whom I refered to.
This A500 was great when I first bought it. Now it's a piece of work. If I'm on it for 10 minutes it starts acting up. Takes long to focus in, everything is blurry for a second or two. It gets aggravating having to deal with this. I am very disappointed Acer.

After some time reading the posts on xda A500 (which turned me into a flashaholic. Thanks) I'm very happy with my machine, it runs faster and smoother than most modern machines. All my friends are always asking "how does it do that"

My A500 is not running well at all, it takes a long time to open pages and flashes some sort of what looks like interference across the screen sometimes. It's gotten slower. I was wondering if you could give me an idea what you've done to yours that makes it faster and smoother. I would love mine to run better. I've had it for quite a while and love to use it, but not so much anymore.
