Appreciate this update. I agree, Sammy must be smoking some pot to release GB instead of ICS. Unless the're aware of the ICS Kernel Bug and don't want to risk the number of ICS crashes in India

Hasn't this been available OTA for a while now? I think this is what I was on before I moved to LPY/LPF and it came as a smaller update.
/could be wrong, but I *think* I was on DDLC1 before the ICS flashing

Many time OTA appears couple of days after Kies release.
previous LC1 was german, for India last update was DDLB2
Anyone got a torrent download or file? My Kies update crashed and am in no mood to get it via hotfile. Thanks.

Samsung pushing Gingerbread update in India
So when Kies told me I had a new firmware update, I was overjoyed, however it turns out to be a GB update
PDA:LC1/PHONE:LC1/CSC:LC1 (INU)
Kernel 2.6.35-N7000DLC1
So anybody installed this ROM to find out what's new?
I think nobody interested gingerbread any more.
Not a single review.

Yeah, kinda expected. Hoping that the official Indian version of ICS releases soon.
Strangely No OTA notification and when i check manually in settings still shows no update. Currently updating from KIES but it deadly slow.
I am willing to wait for ICS till the samsung owns up the EMMC bug and fix it.
Started downloading via KIES. Will update once done.

I have installed it. Cannot see any noticeable difference. Looks like a minor update.
I also made a thread about this

That's weird... I am from India, and when I check for updates using wifi, it says the phone is up to date. Even when connected to Kies, it says no update available. Will this take time to be available?
How do I update this firmware on my phone? The article mentions "download the flash program". Where do I download that from?

is it official from samsung??
yes its official from samsung, no it wont immediately show up on your phone..
either download from sammobile or wait a few days for it to circulate through the system.

This ROM shows under "test" in Fus (Samsung Server) that's why it won't appear as a normal Kies or OTA update.

I've checked the Check Fus Downloader and it seems this firmware was posted on December 08, 2011. However its not available as an OTA from the phone.
Picture attached for reference. Maybe someone can download the files via the downloader and flash via ODIN.
Cheers!!!
Seems like update is now available via Kies through USB connection, I am from India so may be this is India specific update. Downloading it right now.
UPDATE:
This is 2.3.6 update for Indian Galaxy Note. Updated the device, working fine, device seems to be more responsive but I have to test more to confirm.

yes....you also do it through Kies.
Personally I think Kies is a safer way to update...as if anything does go wrong with the updating process...kies can always put your phone back to the emergency firmware image. (it happened to me with my galaxy tab 10.1)
Damn Samsung. I'm running Ubuntu, so no Kies for me (Yes, i've tried to run it in Win7 using Virtualbox, but it won't mount the Note)

Anyone know if 2.3.6 KKA will get this update officially? I checked on OTA and Kies, nothing!
I am guessing that the 17MB update the OP is talking about is the XXKL3 2.3.6 update.
@Srinik5
Could you please take a screenshot of your "About Phone" screen? Is you phone currently on KL3? I am also in India & I have no updates available. I had updated to KL3 using Kies when it initially came out. I am assuming you did not.

Well I took the plunge. First I tried Criskelo's ICS V5.1, but I didn't like the theme and very quickly found things that didn't work properly, so then I tried stock LQ2, using Mobile Odin Pro to keep root and the CF-Root V5.6 kernel.
It's early days, but so far I'm happy. Getting set up was a pain - it was only after 2 attempts that I discovered that Bookmark Sort & Backup isn't ICS compatible and was screwing up my Browser. I therefore had to do 2 complete wipes using CF-Root v5.6. This claims to have (probably) fixed the superbrick bug, and it certainly worked fine for me - whew!
I'm missing all the toggles of Jkay because there isn't a version of the 15 toggle mod for stock LQ2, but hopefully that'll come soon and SwipePad replaces the quick launcher panel nicely.
So no regrets yet, but there's still the odd lag here and there, and I can't say it's a significantly better experience. Also I can't sketch to save myself, so the new S-Pen applications aren't important to me. Still, got to move with the times! There's still nothing to replace my wonderful Note.
UK ICS Build (Carphone Warehouse) for Note is super stable
DQ of the day?
Downloaded & installed N7000XEULP4 via this site.
I intend to root again as mobile odin failed to inject root - yes I followed the good Dr's direction.
I used PC Odin, reset to factory in stock recovery (post flash) after 15min wait at the Samsung logo (very tentatively re-set due to massive information about deleting killing partitions, mmc sections etc & the unit is now one stock ics 4.0.3
So after I have rooted following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360.
I wish to re-load a previous ics (paranoid android) am I likely to hit the 'brick-wall')?
Need to ask I killed one note already :mad,

I did the same procedure restoring a CM9 Backup with CWM manager. Now my Galaxy S2 is dead. I'm waiting for tomorrow to do the JTAG procedure .

Can we have your babies now...
Just installed with Odin and it wiped everything on the internal drive. Luckily I had a full Titanium backup and recovered that.
Seems fine so far!

Touchwiz had crashed a couple of times initially but been fine since. May be to do with the fact I had done a complete restore with TB and overwritten something.
The ink effect is cool (only works with the S Pen) and the customizable notification panel is great.
This phone is really pushing the boundaries where the iphone and iOS is stagnating. Well done Samsung!
Keith
Installed, included repartition with .pit file.
Why you suggest to not install it?
thanks

Nothing so far, no FC of any apps seems nice and stable.
Hello. Could I get "Ink Effetst" separate file of this firmware?
To make it work on non-official ROM 4.1.2 on the first Galaxy Note (N7000).
Thanks in advance : O
