Messaging Bug

Has anyone else found the messaging app to be extremly buggy? I have the stock ATT rom and haven't made any major mods to it. It's constantly freezing, the text input field is always hidden, etc. Is there a fix somewhere? At this point I'm even willing to pay for an app, but I can't find any. SMS chat doesnt work with 6.5.

I'm inexperienced with custom ROMs, but I think its a 50/50 chance. Give it a shot and if it doesn't work you can simply unistall it. Everything will be like before. That's the beauty of CABs.

did you get the error before installation? if so, my guess is htc put in a check to see what rom ur running so the fix cant install on another device. maybe a good dev here can decompile the cab and remove the check/block.

cannot d/l from htc site....

Just got around to installing this. My messaging app wasn't giving me much trouble prior to now, so i just installed it. It froze right when I opened the first message and backed out. Just tried again and it froze again. Way to go HTC.

Im just looking at the actual file. I was under the impression that it was a cab. my mistake.

HTC must be almost kings of useless descriptions for their hotfixes! What does it mean?!! lol
I'm still on ROM 1.48 - maybe I should have a look to see if it's worth getting up to date!

Again nothing for europe

I did install the patch, will need to test it tho.. Anybody tested the hotfix ?

What is this patch about? what stability issues does it resolve? does it upgrade the Radio?

anyone knows if it will give me some trouble I live in Denmark so i'm not quite sure if i will **** up my system by updating. any suggestions ?

I think if some one call you and you picked up the phone. But don´t know what it exactly do maybe problems with proximity sensor or something like that. Htc can get award for the badest discriptions by support updates. Sometimes you find also thing like. This give the user a better experience

I downloaded from the HTC link, placed RUU_LEO08762_20100423.exe on my computer & LEO08762.exe (Actually HTC HD2_LEO08762.exe) onto my Storage Card.
Ran the RUU no problems. However when I run the 2nd file on my HD2, it reports, 'This hotfix is not compatible with your device.'
Tried rebooting & rerunning it.
Software Information
2.10.50.08.2
15.37.50.07U
1.66.405.2.76641 WWE
(UK, T-mobile)
Any suggestions?

I think you only need to run it once. I also tried running it through the phone the first time and also gave me the "not compatible" error. Used the PC file then it went through. The only difference I notice is my radio shows 2.10. My ROM is 1.66.405 WWE.

I suppose these are device lockups on incoming calls or sms. Older roms suffered badly with such problems.

anyone have any ideas on what this exactly "fixes" yet?
im still running on 1.66 so im curious on what this helps

You didnt do any research before posting this did you? your answer is NOT YET. Theres threads all over the place talking about this.

When people talk about flashing from NAND this is what they are talking about. Avoiding WinMo all together. On the first page you will see a post about it, and if you search you will find hundreds.

Usually, that problem has to do with your radio. Flash another radio. I've never had that problem with 2.12.50.02, or the new 2.14.50.04
And can you guys stick to the Android General forum or the thread that pertains to whatever build you're using. Don't start a whole new thread.

That is probably your ROM, I had that when I first bought my HD2. Flashed a android compatible ROM and it went away.

I had the same problem until change my ROM to "Duttys creme de la creme"!
The stock ROM is terrible! A lot of bugs!

have tried but the problem is still there! sometime wake up immediately but sometimes need about 10 sec!!
my manila version is 1.0.19211620.0, ROM version is 1.48.831.0(71294)WWE
any suggestion?? many thanks!

maybe an application is running in the background, that is trying to connect to the internet or something else.
try to close all open programs and look if the program is still there. else you can try a hardreset and then you can see if the problem is because of a running program you have installed

1.48 ROM versions are very old; try to do a update.
If you don't have a branded device, you can use the RUU_Leo_S_HKCSL_WWE_3.14.831.3 It's the latest one of your aria sir.
PS if you will use this new ROM update version don't forget to remove first HSPL (in case you have it install on your device) before install the new ROM!

Man you got 4 threads on the first page alone ..stick to ONE and will be easier for others to understand what process your going through as this means nothing..

when you ask a question, it helps if you specify the rom you're using, what you're trying to update or do. just posting an error msg is no help.
more details the better...
agreed...stop posting a new thread for every issue...keep some sense of problem history.

yeah, sorry about that. I could never figure out what was actually wrong. so I broke down and switched to hd2o's rom which was fully updated. SO i have it now. thanks for all you help and sorry for the post thing.

glad you took my original advice from days ago and use a rom that is simpler to install. and actually, you'll have to reflash once hd2o updates his rom with the official tango.

It is what it is. I made a backup so it really should be that big of a problem. the marketplace is the main reason I finally gave up. It should be simple to install a new rom now that I have the hang of it.

there reall no way to backup/restore a wp7 installation. when you flash the next version from the dev you'll have to set up everything again.
marketplace issue? marketplace works fine on yuki..all the roms. anyway, enjoy your wp7.

go look at leo advanced in the rom forum. don't know if it'll work on hd2o's rom

I'll get back to you on that one. downloading now. Doesnt work on hd2o's rom. keeps backing out of the application.

try installing the app immediately after flashing the rom and and the hard reset. hope you hard reset after flashing the rom...you should always hard reset after the initial flash.
