[Not sure this is the right section, but since it requires a bit of knowledge on adb and stuff, I thought the development area would be better]
I happened to do something, somehow, which cause my Internal Memory to completely "disappear". The only way to get it back was downgrading to GB. However signal wouldn't work. I tried everything I saw on the Internet. But most people had to take it to the customer service. I didn't want that. My mobile was still working, I knew I only needed to fix something no matter what!
I realised that when this problem occurs, if you go to About Device, you'll see that your Baseband version will be XXXX. If that's not the case, just try factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik, etc... and re-flashing stock via odin. BUT if that IS the case, follow the steps below:
DO THIS ONLY ON I9070 (GALAXY S ADVANCE) DON'T TRY IT ON I9070P SINCE I'M NOT SURE IT WILL WORK AND IT MIGHT BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
1 Download http://d-h.st/W5W
2 extract it into your SD Card
3 Run adb, since you won't be able to install terminal on your mobile. However if you've got a ROM with terminal pre-installed you can use it anyways.
4 Use this command on adb: adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/modemfs.img.md5 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2
If you have this problem on a different device and found this thread, try looking for the mmcblk0p2 for your device, extract it to your SD Card and type on adb: dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0p2 of=/sdcard/modemfs.img.md5
Then, go to step 4
That's it, folks! If nothing happened yet, reboot your mobile and both your network and memory will be working.
Hit thanks if I've helped you anyroad
Sorry but it didn't work for me.
hey buddy, thanks for the info... in my phone i have baseband name, but i dont have system storage ... i try your metod but i couldnt fix it...
can you give me a little more information how did you do? thanks and sorry my bad english....
are u sure u have root access? try using Root Explorer, google it. there is one that is really good. I used this method on JB. It should work on GB also... if nothing like reflashing stock, wiping data, cache and dalvik cache and fixing permissions worked, thats the last hope. other than that, only customer service as far as I know  try to follow the steps thoroughly. ALSO, just to make sure, put the modemfs file both on the internal memory and external sd card, since it might have been changed. MIUI for example would recognize your external sd card as ur internal memory and vice-versa

then try reflaashing via odin the stock rom with the pit file. that can be found on section on how to downgrade to GB. make sure u use the right pit file for the 8 or 16gb version. then when flashing, make sure to check the option of Re-format

Been there, done that
Problem description:
I'm unable to delete files or create new ones in my internal storage/sd.
I can read files that are already there.
I'm also able to read/write from a PC
It seems that permissions are not set properly for this partition (?)
Environment:
Note 3 model SM-N900w8 from wind mobile.
Rooted + RWTP
Stock ROM.
I did format system, data, cache, Dalvik cache at one time and reinstalled a rooted ROM.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!

Did you flash cm/aosp rom earlier?
Help needed please. My internal memory became full and then after I was able to clear some space, I can no longer write to the internal memory. Ie I can't download anything from the Internet, or I can't create a new file on the internal memory. Any ideas how to rectify please? Running stock 5.0.1 rooted ROM.
Do you have a custom recovery installed? If so, which one?
No custom recovery installed
Try reinstalling your ROM through Odin. Back up your files first.
This has resolved issue thank you
I m new to this genre of rooting and installing ROMs so u might find the descriptive part of my problem a bit absurd and amusing to pro's out here - so please bare with me. Thanks.
I have Custom Flash software (Philz Touch 6.26.6) installed on my Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-900I. I installed " PopWiz_Telstra_v5.1_FINAL_G928FUVU2DOH6_G928FTMB2DOH6_TMB " from the community to get the S6 outlook + A few Note5 apps .
1. I used Wipe Data/Factory Reset, and then selected Clean to install A new ROM
2. I m not sure if that completely wiped data off my phone except the Custom Flash software or not
3. Thinking of the above , i installed PopWiz_Telstra_v5.1_FINAL version and proceeded .
4. I checked the storage and it shows 7.4Gb
5. Somewhere i am not doing things correctly as i have a 16Gb variant and 7.5Gb is used up in system files
Can anyone tell me how can i wipe data completely except my Flash Software , and make maximum use of my Internal Memory because as far as i know , at max system files should be of 4Gb , even that should leave me with 12Gb appx .
Please help me fix this guys
Anyone for this?
Flash TWRP recovery instead of Phillz
There is no issue it's normal , the system take too much place and you have about 9gb free. You can flash stock and check , its almost the same thing
Sent from my SM-T116 using XDA Free mobile app
delete - got ROM names confused

I'm running PopWiz, and it shows 4.85GB used / 11.84GB
And that's after installing a load of apps, and having stuff saved like videos and images etc

u have stuff stored in your sdcard from before instaling your new rom, go into custom format option and format sdcard if you have nothing important on your phone that worth keeping.format sdcard not sdcard1
Hi all sorry for asking a dumb question, but would "format data" button inside TWRP's Wipe section (the button above factory reset) also delete a TWRP backup?

If your twrp backup in microsd card then it will not delete.
"Format data" will delete ( system/data/cache/dalvic cache/internal storage)
If you are planning to clean your device to install new clean rom then Make a backup of current rom and all your data in microsd card/usb drive before you do this.
So if the backup was in the internal sd it would have been deleted then right?

Yes it will be deleted
Go to my files and copy entire TWRP folder from internal storage to microsd card if you need your backup.
Thanks!
Format data

After FORMAT DATA there is nothing there to recover.
Everything has gone, sorry.
Only if you had made a TWRP backup, stored in the external sdcard, then you could restore it and get your DATA files back.
But in that case also, your personal files(pictures, music etc) are not included in this back up.
Only APPS data, meaning files that make apps working, are restored this way.
ALL your personal data, are stored in the internal storage.
If you have performed a DATA format, nothing is there anymore.

So you can recover data if it was not overwritten, even if it was deleted. You can use special software.
Which options do we need to select to backup existing ROM? And to do a recover in case of device failure.
Boot? System? System Image? Vendor? Vendor Image?
Maybe a dumb question but: If you format data, can you boot in current rom?

No, you can't lol. Format data wipes everything on the storage of the device. You better install a rom after wiping everything or you will get stuck in bootloader / bootloops.
In some a/b slot devices, if you don't have a rom installed, your custom recovery is also wiped because it usually resides on the boot.img.
