Tw style calendar widget for apex launcher and 240 dpi? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Hello
After searching the forums, I saw everybody recommend pure calendar and simple calendar widgets.
I was looking for a widget like the one which comes with touchwiz, that would allow me to navigate through different months and so on.
Thank you in advance for your wisdom.

Calendar Widgets

Any good calendar Widgets that display your upcoming events similar to the sense based Widgets?

i dont know
smooth calendar
I've tried most of them. My favorites are:
Free - Android Agenda Widget
Paid - Pure Calendar Widget
Pure Calendar Widget I think is the best but it cost a couple dollars.

+1 smooth calendar
Smooth calendar is the best for me...

I have also tried them all. I prefer Simple Calendar Widget for the next appointment view and then Launcher Pro for the agenda view.

Pure Calendar Widget
I like business calendar cause it reminds me of the Sense calendar widget, which was my favorite of all the calendar widgets.
I am using Pure Calendar Widget, because it integrates with Got To Do, which is now defunct.
another +1 for smooth calendar here!
I was going through many different Widgets for various tasks. And then I tried launcher. It cut 10mb off my ram usage, also adds resisable Widgets (standard aswel), has a nice calander widget (I specifically bought it for this) and ads some sick customization. It is very stable too. Please note that this app completely replaces the stock launcher, and so will not even be cached on startup. There is a free version to try, but it is minus the Widgets you seek, but does have screen shots of them (in app). Sory if this seems off topic, but its just another consideration to take in with all the other very helpful suggestions.

Dunno about the HTC calendar but I'm using Android Agenda Widget which is very customizable, integrates with Astrid and GTasks (which in turn integrated with Google Tasks) and also displays your contacts birthdays.
It doesn't look very fancy but it works well!
Pure Calendar Widget vs Smooth Calendar
I just switched to Smooth Calendar from Pure Calendar. Pure Calendar is very functional and looks good unless you switch back and forth between landscape and portrait on your home screen. Regardless of the settings, in landscape Pure's widget gets horribly pinched and is not pleasant. I like Smooth because I really only want a good looking agenda widget; I prefer using the native calendar app for creation and editing.
On a side note, I really liked SPB Shell's calendar widget. Although the widget took an entire pane, it had both a good looking calendar and agenda. Ultimately, I uninstalled in favor of the better usability of ADW Launcher.
I like Android Agenda Widget.
1) Launcher Pro - built in
2) Colorize
3) Pure Calendar

[Updated 3/15] Replace HTC Widgets through 3rd party Widgets -- LIST!

So I wanted to create a list of widgets that look/function like the HTC Widgets..
Weather - Palmary Weather

Clock - Fancy Widget
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.anddoes.fancywidget.pro&feature=search_result
Calendar - Pure Grid Calendar
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.koxx.pure_grid_calendar
http://www.appbrain.com/app/calendar-snooze/com.bitfire.development.calendarsnooze <-- Calendar reminders
Music - Player Pro
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tbig.playerpro&feature=search_result
Contact/People Widget
http://www.appbrain.com/app/contact-widget/br.livroandroid.widget.contatos
http://www.appbrain.com/app/contact-sidebar/albr.android.sidecallbar
http://www.appbrain.com/app/contacts-grid/com.billyfrancisco.contactsgrid
Facebook/Twitter/Friendstream/Contacts Widget (AIO)
http://www.appbrain.com/app/colorize-widget/com.snowbee.colorize
BookMark Widget
http://www.appbrain.com/app/visual-bookmarks/kent.android.imgbookmarks
Launcher Pro + has a lot of Sense-esque widgets built in.
It's not actually a widget, but what about the calendar reminders. I find that the stock reminder stinks...so I use Calendar Snooze. http://www.appbrain.com/app/calendar-snooze/com.bitfire.development.calendarsnooze
HELLZ YEAH !!!
This is a great source..
Thanks for this thread
STICKY PLEASE !! hahaha..
To the OP, please update the original post with all of the suggestions that are posted so that if this list grows to several pages, someone won't have to read through it all to see if it's already been suggested.
Thanks again.
Colorize widget - great replacement for Facebook/Friendstream and agenda calendar. You also have a contacts and messaging widget as well.

yes it does.. but I don't people to be limited to just Launcher Pro. This is more if people want a HTC look with say GO launcher, ADW, Zeam, etc...

see comment above! I don't want users to be limited to LauncherPRO when GOlauncher EX or ADW EX are worthy launchers..
would the colorize widget be scrollable on touchwiz or only for the previously mentioned launchers? ( I ask since touchwiz has other scrollable widgets.)
edit2: so i just tried to sign in with colorize and I got a suspicious activity alert, although i did get to play a fun guessing game at my friends photos to verify who i am.
edit: Also I just saw on appbrain the dev of visiual bookmarks also has visual contacts
Also if we are going for the look of sense the we need Fancy Widget v1.3 (picture) I can link it if it is not against the rules.

4x4 Calendar Widget

I moved on to the JB ROM from the stock GB with Sense ROM and missing the Sense widgets for sure. Especially the 4x4 calendar widget and the 4x4 contacts widgets.
I tried various widgets from the Market (Jorte, Android Pro widgets etc) but none come close to the refinement we had in the Sense widgets.
Any suggestions on some good replacement options? I am looking for only 4x4 sized widgets that can be placed on the home screens (not the 4x1 smooth calendar type ones)
Ho.. i faced the sa me issue band about calendar at the end of day i chose Business Calendar Free.. it has a good level of customization band finally i found a solution.

GO Calendar Widget is pretty similar and could be a good replacement
Pure grid calendar is excellent. For contacts, I just add individual shortcuts on one of my home screens.
Sent from my Nokia 6230i with power locks and power windows.
I Am missing the se se calendar also. Going to try these

Using Nova Launcher

I am thinking of using Nova Launcher, but wondering if I will loose any functionality. Does any one know if this is the case?
Try it and let us know!!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I'm using it. You don't lose a great deal - page buddy and the very nice weather widgets are all I can think of that make a daily difference. All the big features still work, including multi-view.
You get rid of most of Touchwiz though, which is a massive advantage.
@ekerbuddyeker - am trying it, but as this is my first Samsung device (only got it today), and never used any of the Samsung features before; I wouldn't have known if I was missing out on anything. Thanks for your contribution though
Seems to be running well so far. Just reading up on "Page Buddy" to see if I think I need it (Thanks Robster83 for that info).
The main advantages of Nova so far are that I can increase the amount of rows and columns on the desktop. I have just come from Paranoid Android on the Galaxy Nexus and with the large screen and default DPI everything on the Note 2 looks VERY BIG. Also finding the swipe down gesture to open up the notifications useful as my fingers struggle to get to the top of the screen when holding the phone in one hand.
Im using Nova and I think its a better option. I can still get Snote to open when I remove the pen so for me losing page buddy doesn't matter. The extra customization is well worth it.
+1 to nova here, much better than tw
Nova is pretty good although does anyone know how to get the S Planner Calendar Widget working with it? The S Planner Calendar widget is so much more advanced than the standard calendar widget and it kinda sucks for that to be the one thing that gets removed when I use Nova.

SPlanner is built into the TouchWiz Launcher, making it impossible to get the widget on anything else other than stock launcher.

I agree with everyone here. Definetly a +1 for Nova over TW.
But since I had page buddy setup to launch Rocket player when my headphones were attached, it seems as though it is locked into that setting. I tried going back to the TW environment to turn it off but it didn't work
Go Launcher is a better option for me, than any other launcher, I would urge those who haven't tried it to give it a go. Loads of customisation possible and the go ex notification add-on is nice.
In terms of calendar widget. Ive also tried loads and best I have found is Pure Calendar Widget.
+1 on Pure Calendar. Also Wizz widget is fine, also free.
I know its not a calendar thread, but if you have already mentioned calendars, then Business Calendar Free!
I'm using nova for two years. After installing it I immediately delete touchwiz launcher. Best launcher I ever tried.

Apps like Chronus, which can be used as lockscreen widget?

As some of you know Chronus (cClock or something of Cyanogenmod) was released yesterday, I like it, but I don't like the date being so small, and I can't change the font. Now I'm using Zooper Widget, which is nice but on lockscreen that widget scales badly on widget maximization and changes its position. So do you guys know any app like Chronus, but with more customisation? I don't really like the default Samsung clock position or font, also I want to keep the Samsung lockscreen, don't like third party lockscreen apps like Widget Locker or anything.
Thanks in advance.
