yes.
1. put iwmulticall e.g. from here in system/xbin folder,
2. install Wi-Fi Tx Power from the market
3. tick "use iwmulticall" checkbox
4. select the power level using the buttons in top row (4-32 range)
you can also use terminal emulator to check if all works ok, assuming you have GB, start terminal, type "su", then type "iwmultical iwconfig eth0"and check the number after tx power - it should be equal to the one set in the app

Terminal Emulator- the virtual keyboard won't show up

Hi,
I am trying to use the Terminal Emulator. How can I display the virtual keyboard?
press and hold the menu key.
it should pop up after a few seconds.
Also, terminal emulator does not support numbers. I suggest you purchase Better Terminal Pro from the market or set up adb.
Thanks a lot
There is also a free terminal emulator in marketplace called 'android terminal emulator' that also supports numbers.

Forcing HSDPA mode?

With every other android phone i had i could force the phone to use 3G only by going to *#*#4636#*# and selecting "WCDMA Only".
I can do the same on the SGS but it does not do anything. it has no effect on the phone.
Anyone has any idea how to do this on the SGS?
Yes..I am looking for the same information..Without this feature..i am screwed.the phone keep going to 2G as long as the signal strength is stronger than 3G..this priority scheme logic suck big time for data centric phone which data speed is more important..
DownlOad anycut, run it,NEW SHORTCUT - ACTIVITY - PHONE INFO
A short cut will now be on your homescreen with all the required options.
*#*#197328640#*#* > debug screen > phone control > network control > band selection
You need to do this after each reboot though as it does not stick.

You don't need to type all that *#*#.........#*#* on your I9000, just hold the menu button down(which is the button in the middle of the bottom of the phone) and you will see an icon called service mode and this is the mode after you type all that out.

That's only if you've typed all that stuff already in the current session.
The Network app (by Philipp Mangelow) is a bit easier to handle though.
need to say sorry first... i've just found out this as well.

[solved] wifi freeze with tasker

first, I am korean. so I am terrible in English.
I have tried various methods to solve wifi freeze on screen turn off.
but any method did not succeed.
but I found that the problem does not occur when streak connect with power cable.
so I have tried to produce similar effects when streak does not connect with power cable.
I use tasker and secure settings for this. (rooting is required.)
and I finally solved the problem.
follow this step.
1. you have to install tasker and secure settings apps.
2. run secure settings and click "Helper is not installed" to install helper.
3. run tasker and click + button on the bottom to create new profile.
4. choose first context > State > Power > Power(Source : any, Invert : check)
5. click New Task > name : any text or blank > click + button to create action.
6. choose Plugin > Secure Settings > Edit > choose Wake Device
7. select Wake Type : CPU Awake Only, select Duration : Manual On
8. click menu button and save.
9. close create task window.
10. long press the first context to create second context.
11. click Add > State > Net > Wifi connected.
12. long press the task to create exit task.
13. click Add Exit Task, and follw the same from 5~9 but select Duration : Manual Off.
now, your streak is solved the wifi problem.
enjoy the streak.
How does this affect your battery life, since it sounds like it keeps the device from going to sleep.

Increase Samsung Focus Speaker & Headphone Volume

Hello all
here is some info that I collected from multiple other places to help with the low volume problem in my Samsung Focus:
Increase Speaker Volume
1- Go to the dialer of your phone and access diagnostic mode by dialing ##634# or start the Diagnosis app by clicking it from your app menu.
2- Input *#0002*28345# to get to the Audio menu.
3- See the last option named “Device Gain (max/min)”... Hit the “Get” option next to it.
4- Now from among the 3 fields: in the second one enter 16000 and in the third field enter 0.
6- Hit “Set”.
7- Tap “Start” button at the bottom of the app.
8- Exit Diagnosis by clicking the windows home button then restart your phone.
Increase Headphone Volume
1- First and foremost make sure that your headphones are attached to your phone, as the fix won’t work otherwise.
2- Go to the dialer of your phone and access diagnostic mode by dialing ##634# or start the Diagnosis app by clicking it from your app menu.
3- Input *#0002*28345# in the diagnosis screen.
4- Navigate to “Device Gain (max/min)” and hit the Get button next to it.
5- In the 3 fields, enter these values respectively 5, 1100 and –1100
6- Hit "Set".
7- on the next line below change the AUDIENCE.CFG to "on".
7- Tap on the "Start" button at the bottom of the app.
8- Exit Diagnosis by clicking the windows home button then restart your phone.
NOTE:
Speaker volume may become so loud and it may crackle at really high volumes, so I use the hardware volume buttons to stay slightly below the maximum volume
You can try using the Diagnosis app to restore the default values below, but it may not help & only a hard-reset will apply these default original volumes:
Default Volume Settings (Speaker)
Device Gain (max/min): 7 / 1200 / -500
Default Volume Settings (Headphones)
Device Gain (max/min): 5 / 400 / -1100
If you do not have the Diagnosis app (or can not enter the Diagnosis mode), you can sideload the attached .xap
Hope this helps
There is a very similar thread a while ago, and I think most of this info is already on the Samsung Focus wiki.

like i mentioned: collected from many places..so its complete info
here i added the back speaker tweak too
and added a missing step in headphone tweak that fix the settings not sticking
also alerted users about possibility of "too high" volume & how to fix + attached the diagnosis app
so, someone can put all this on wiki...& delete this thread if you want
its just when i was using the wiki info alone it was not really helping & had to search additional sites

I didn't say it's bad stuff, it is useful. You should be able to edit and put it on the wiki, I think.

I recently purchased Samsung Omnia I8350. During initialization software got upgraded to 7.5
I wanted to increase the sound volume for headset and speaker using Audio controller utility as mentioned above but the menu doesn't come up. I am able to access Diagnosis application but unable to open Audio control utility using *#0002*28345# or *#0002*28346#. Nothing happens when I type this.
Can you provide me the solution?

Sadly, I believe you have the "latest" Diagnosis delivered through "Samsung Update" (past KK2), which stops interop unlock.
Can you please run Diagnosis, and run *#1234# and check/post your PDA (1st entry)?
The "Samsung update" info is in this post. You will have to restore (in Zune) in order to use the old Diagnosis and update manually.

Verizon version missing options

So I've noticed that the Verizon model is missing a couple of options, anyone find any others?
Ability to change Font styles, it's missing
Battery saver mode is missing
It seems like they've messed with the Quick Settings bar
The first two on your list are not missing. I changed my fonts already, and there is a battery saver mode.
Fonts: settings> personalize> change theme> menu button on top left, scroll down to Fonts and pick the one you want, then apply it (you can change icons, sounds, wallpapers, etc in here too)
Battery Saver is called Extreme Saver and is in the Quick Settings bar.
Customizing the Quick Settings is not available, as HTC has disabled our access to the System UI Tuner.
Thanks man, I swear I did look for those, but this just goes to show that I'm not very smart. LOL
Is there a way to use a font that I purchased? I can't seem to find how to select it.

Thanks for the info, I looked at the Extreme power mode and that's not the same as the normal Battery Saver. It doesn't appear like you can add fonts that you purchased.
Yeah, I don't use the battery saver mode, so I don't know the difference between them. If you got the font from the HTC theme store, I would think you could apply it the same way as free ones. If you bought it from the Play store, I don't know how to apply that.
I figured out how to add purchased fonts, Settings/personalize/edit current theme/scroll down & select "font" , click the v arrow, next to fonts in the top left. Select "others", & if you've already purchased fonts then they should show up.

I am having the same issue on my Verizon HTC 10. There is an "Extreme Power Saver" mode, but no regular "Power Saver" mode - Why is this not on Verizon's HTC 10? The "Extreme Power Saver" is not what I ever want to use as it makes the phone pretty much useless. Why would a feature like "Power Saver" mode be removed?
There is no "PowerSaver" mode on stock Verizon handsets. The carrier claims that it interferes with the 911 requirements. Rooted Verizon handsets can reactivate the option through mods (I believe it's a SQLlite edit of a database; that's how it was on the M9). I had PowerSaver always running on my M9 once it was rooted.
For the powersaver mode, try this from a computer with working ADB
Code:
adb shell "settings list secure | grep power"
If it returns something that looks like this
Code:
hide_ui_user_powersaver=1
Then try
Code:
adb shell "settings put secure hide_ui_user_powersaver 0"
This does not require root if done from a computer. It will require root if done from a terminal on the device. This is what works on an M9 running Marshmallow. It may or may not work on the 10. You can also try
Code:
adb shell "settings list secure"
To get a list of all the settings.

I can confirm this works. Just did it on my VZW 10 and good ol' regular Power Saver mode is now present under Settings > Power.

Thank you!

So I just tried this and "Power Saver" mode is now present and I can turn it on and off, but when I try to go into it to change the settings I get a fault that says "Power has stopped unexpectedly". Could there be another setting that needs changed? I'll be looking through the list to see if there is, but thought I'd ask also.
I went through the list and the setting is showing "hide_ui_user_powersaver=0" , but it won't let me change the when the Power Saver starts.
Son of a gun, works here, too. Thanks!

Don't think we have been able to since the m9, as I recall, it wouldn't open settings storage. But they are easy edits to default XML.
