They are stock ICS roms
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
To be more precise they are specific region ROMs.
LPY is open Germany
LPF is Taiwan
basically if your Galaxy Note is for that specific region you can get ICS update OTA or through Kies.
You can put these ROMs on any unlocked Galaxy Note but you'll have to do it manually through PC Odin from SamFirmware site.
Dammit, stop abbreviating ICS build codes without the region/carrier code!
XXLPY = Official ICS release for the XX region (which is most of Europe)
ZSLPF = Official ICS release for the ZS region (Taiwan)
Samsung build codes:
First two letters: Region
Third letter: Year
Fourth letter: Month of year for Gingerbread, P for ICS (except UC region = AT&T, which continues using proper month codes)
Fifth number/letter: Build of month (or, for ICS, build sequence for that region.)
Samsung's replacement of month with P = epic fail - they've almost exhausted their sequence codes already. (up to Y for XX region). Don't know if they'll bump the P up to Q or what.

Why people keep saying ZSLPF is for Taiwan?
ZS is the samsung country code for Hong Kong. Taiwan is ZT.
I cannot find any taiwan stuff inside this rom. But the hong kong IME is there.

Well, if one user made repeated identical posts, I could see it being problematic. But do you really think banning someone for a single post is appropriate? I could understand a mod(not a senior member) giving a warning or something if it got out of hand. But three people having a laugh doesn't do any harm. I'm sure this will get locked at some point, but WTF man? If you would just let this thread die, nobody would post anything in it. But you had to bump it. What exactly were you hoping to accomplish? Just let the thread die if you don't want stupid posts in it.

Can someone explain to me the meaning of kf2 .. What the k or f means or with ke7 wat does the k or e or even 7 mean? cheers
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
The 5 digit code is a combination of a country/language code and a date code.
First two digits are a country language code and are sometimes omitted when talking about generic kernels.
Next two digits are year/month code and the final digit is a release number within that month.
KF2 = second (2) release in June (F) 2011 (K)
KE7 = seventh (7) release in May (E) 2011 (K)
I just purchased the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I have been reading around here about people updating to 3.2 using Kies. I have the latest Kies installed but it does not detect a software update. I bought the Tab from the middle east. Any idea what's going wrong here? Thanks in advance!
You said you bought your Tab from the Middle East???
Are you using it in the USA???
If that's the case, your Tab is most likely set to that region of the world. And their most likely not an update available.
And also, you need to give us a bit more info...
Sent from my Galaxy10.1 TouchWiz/ADWex equipped Starship.
I am having the same issue I bought mine in Canada (and currently living there) and I am still seeing 3.1 as the latest firmware available.
I bought mine from The Source store and not through a carrier so could that be the problem?
I bought mine from a carrier but officially unlocked and Kies still finds 3.1 as the latest firmware. I've been reading about the improvement in the 3.2 specially with the web browser. I hope someone here can find an explanation or better a solution!

In the 'About Tablet' screen there is a build number displayed like 'P7510XXKH3'.
In general Samsung releases follow:
P7510 is the model
XX is the region/carrier
KH3 is the build
XX = Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
K=2011
H=August
3=revision
Depending on what region/carrier your tablet has will determine when (if) you get a new release. Not all regions are released at the same time e.g. some translations may take longer, or a release is only made to a 'select few' to determine any issues. Or the carrier wants to test/add their own customisations.
In the UK we have had KH3 for a couple of months, and are waiting for 3.2 as well.
Though there does seem to be some variations on the release numbering scheme e.g. my i9000 on Vodaphone says it is BUJV9, V is not a month, thouth it is a Vodaphone release not Samsung.
Keith
Well, if your Tablets CSC is NEE, you should recieve the update, Over The Air! Remember that hehe.
Here are the info:
Baseband version: P7500XXKG7
Kernel version: 2.6.36.3 [email protected] #1
Build number: HMJ37 P7500JPKG6
Another thing is when I choose to check for software update from "About Tablet" it says "Wi-Fi is not available. Disable Wi-Fi only. Using 3G network may incur additional charges" how do I disable "Wi-Fi only"?
keithmoore so there is no official update 3.2 for GT-P7510?
Yes, there is, but only a few regions seem to have it so far. The US definately have it (though it took them twice to get it right), but in the UK we are still waiting (unless you use a custom ROM).
Hey, i have the note and in the regional it "KOR", which one should i change to be international?
i see that all the updates are international first.
There is no 'international' like in sole version that gets updates. It still attached to the region you live or bought the phone.
Recently, the German version has been receiving updates first. Code - DBT
But this is no guarantee that will stay that way.
Cheers.
Sent from my GT-N7000
o.k but i live in israel and the phone is not released in here and the region is set to "KOR".
there are alot of free games that i cant find in samsung apps and i like to know which one is the best to set?
b.t.w - i still didnt see the last firmware update.
Just change your region.
Type this on the phone dialer - *#272*your imei number#
Sent from my GT-N7000
please note that by changing your region you will wipe your phone like doing a factory reset. make a backup first.

no DBT option for me there. Any update getting alternative?
(On the Galaxy S I had XEU, and that was rather successful for updates, but here also no XEU and I read that the UK is also not much included in those updates)
Can choose from
XSK,XEZ,XEH,XEF,XEE,WIN,VVT,VOM,VOD,VIP,VIM,VGR,VDH,VDF,VDC,TWO,TSR
,TRA,TPH,TOP,TMU,TMT,TMS,SMO,SIM,SEB,ROM,PHE,PAN,ORS,ORA,OMN,
,O2U,O2I,O2C,NEE,MTLMSR,MOB,MKO,KOR,ITV,HAT,GBL,FTM,EUR,ERO,
,DNF,CYV,CYO,CRO,COS,COA,CNX,BOG,BGL,AUT,ATO,ATL,AMN
Thanks, i see how change the region.
1. which one to choose "EUR" is euro?
2. there is no unbranded region?
now its on "kor"

what does a higher change number bring you, when most of the changes done is by the carrier who (most of the time) does change things to the worst.
i'd always prefer an open firmware (like the german one) to a carrier f'd up firmware with a slightly higher build number

So what you're saying is each carrier increases the Changelist count.
Which means the next firmware you get with an even higher changelist count will already include the supposed carrier changes.
The changelist refers to the android framework and kernel changes.
It has nothing to do with the carrier. It's manufactured and developed by samsung.

are you sure about that ?
of course carrier changes by carrier A will not get carried over to carrier B !
my understanding is:
google delivers an build with buildnumber with Changelist X
now carrier A fiddles around with that build to customize it which will result in an Changelist value of X+Y (Y being the customer changes)
carrier B might get the same build by google and fiddle around less with it
the resulting changelist value of X gets added by Z (Z being carrier B changes) which is a lower value
just because changelist in rom B is lower than in rom A doesn't make rom A "newer"...
for a better understanding i will put numbers and names into it:
google releases a android 4.0.3 build to carriers with a changelist of 200'000.
verizon takes that build and customizes it which results in their rom having a changelist of 230'000.
at&t takes the same build (with changelist of 200'000) and adds fewer changes, resulting in their rom having a changelist of 210'000.
does that mean that verizons rom is newer ? no, it's just that they made more changes to the available stock/vanila build by android.
in the end people want newer vanila builds and not the latest carrier changes!
so a carrier rom with changelist 350'000 is probably based on an older build than an open rom with a changelist of 340'000.

What happens if we get another XWLP8, unbranded this time?
Does it mean that samsung accepted the carrier changes and implemented them into their generic build?
This has happened many times in the past.
The only rational explanation is that XWLP8 is simply newer and has more bugs fixed than XWLP7.
No, of course not. there are three parties involved here. Google, samsung and the Carrier. The order is fixed and does imply that a carrier change will not be applied to the next samsung rom, just like a samsung change will not be applied to the next vanilla Android build, since google has no interest to modify their base build to incorporate changes that add functions for samsung phones just as samsung won't apply a carrier modification to their general build, because it does not make any sense to have modifications that make a device work better on only one Carrier and worse on others.
I think you live in the illusion that a carrier would actually add features to a ROM that every user would benefit from which is just not true

Can I just flash this via Odin (one file -> PDA) over my current CM9 nightly? Or do I need a kernel as well?
No - just wipe and flash.
Since around a month, there hasnt been any new Galaxy S4 updates when it comes to Middle eastern, African and neighbouring countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan because all of them are stuck at UBMEA. But on the other hand, Indian Sub continent (inda,Srilanka, nepal, bangladesh, etc.) are now ahead of the rest by THREE updates (MF5,MF8,MG1) now which is stupid and it doesnt make sence.
I know it takes time, but in the past with Galaxy S3 updates, all countries used to get the SAME update and then after some time, Samsung used to release a new update when most of the countries had got the previous update. But now Samsung have ignored the rest and concentrating on few countries now.
IT makes me wonder whether whether the rest countries are now being ignored or indian sub continent has got the most faulty units in comparison to others.
Thoughts?
p.s. Not all people like to 0din and flash manually.
There isn't a logical answer at your question. Middle East countries sale match more than Shrilanca Indonesia, Bangladesh e.t.c

I would suggest you use Odin and install the latest firmwares coming out. Those are official updates. I guess that's the reason why your phone came with Odin mode.
I got my phone from a distributor, and my phone came from South Africa. It took a while before I got the MEA update, and now that I see new firmwares coming out, I finally decided to use Odin, my phone is now officially from Bangladesh (software-wise)

If you look on Sammobile or Samsung-Updates at any Samsung device there are regions on ancient ROMs while CSC's like DBT have gotten three updates. It's pretty random from device-to-device and region-to-region.
It's more of the official country importer's fault than Samsung's fault...

No its samsungs, they should send out the update to everyone. I understand the delay, HTC devices also have similar delays when software updates are rolled out.
There are people in the UK Still stuck on MDM..... Not sure why you think you think you are being ignored.
Dont worry though, nothing past MEA seems to make much of a difference anyway lol
dude most latin american countries are still rocking MDE or MDK
now thats ignored, mine was TPA(Panama) and to this day MDK is its latest

I seriously dont understand the differences because it is absurd. Either the indian sub continent has sold more i9500 than other countries or Samsung dont like to take notice of other countries. HTC is Way better when it comes to 'Distribution' (and not the number) of updates as they cover the whole continent at once.

HTC is exactly the same. They are just have a different way to do that (by CID) and you can't flash a new firmware without rooting or messing with your device.
All OEMs are the same, they have a lot of differe t firmwares for a lot of different regions, thus making everybody wait for ages or ignoring some regions completely, LG doesnt count cause they almost never update their devices
why doenst samsung release two universal firmwares for the 9500 and 9505 and then the carrier specifics? would be a lot easier
