Hy guys
I've been looking on the forums for a way to implement MIUI apps on to ICS ROMS. I had no luck changing permission to the apps and to be honest I'm a beginner with the scripts. So if someone can give me some direction and advice, it will be much appreciated.
Thanks

MIUI is as closed as sense. You can only use the apps on a MIUI ROM our have to port them.
Recently MIUI released the source of done of the apps. There are builds if these apps here on xda that support multiple roms (file explorer, music, compass, ...)

hi all,
i am from pune india, i am currently using wajik ui , few days ago i come to know about galnet miui ics. i downloaded and installed new galnet miui i did not found any changes in it. then i used beyond compare s/w to compare folders. then i found that there not any major new file in galnet miui. Please refer the attached file.
I checked the Galnet site myself a few times. From all I can see, the Galnet Miui ICS is just the MIUI on an ICS framwork. Still experimental, but the UI will look just like MIUI.
Basically, it's still a MIUI.
Even I'm using it. Performance seems a bit faster....

ya, but is it because it's galnet rom, or results of the added ics framework?

first of all i think talking about galnet roms is scary because of a fight with him and the moderators of xda or something. hence they closed the gmiui thread.
2ndly i've been using it for almost 3 months now without any issue.
the experimental builds had only the ics framework, but now they are trying a full ics port to miui and there is a stable build on their site. as for the issue with the leds i've had none. so sorry cant help.
and according to me this is by far the smoothest miui i've used so to each his own!
Hi, I'm a noob here but I have tried a couple of ROMs like CM7, CM9 and WIUI. For me the WIUI looks very good but I don't think it is being updated anymore (pls correct me if I'm wrong). I've seen that MIUI has many variants (WIUI being one of them) so can you kindly tell me which one do you think is the best? And if ever you've tried other roms that are better than MIUI then please feel free to tell me. Thank you.

I've been using WIUI (GB) for a while and have tested a bunch of different ROMs CM7, CM9 (with both Froyo and GB kernel, Epsy, Quarx, Maniac, Euroskank, White Rabbit ), MIUI (WIUI, Galnet, Picachu) and I keep coming back to WIUI. It just works for me.
All listed and others are great developers and each brings something different. It just depends on what you need and what's right for you. e.g. If you need your camera without fail, CM9 is not the place to be. If the camera is not important, test out the CM9s and see which one fits you the best.
Don't forget to thank the developers and, if you can, send them a few bucks for the work they do. They pretty much do it on their own time and without compensation.
ive tried almost all available ROMS for DEFY --- but --- Trust me ... from the time i started using PIKACHU ive never been able to go to some other ROM ... u too try it .. its awesome !!

Ok, I think the title is clear enough but, I'd like to know if there are any MIUI ROMs for the Motorola Defy Plus with a 2.3 (GB) Kernel. Thing is, I have Quarx's CM9 on Multiboot but I'd love to try ICS MIUI on it, but I understand I have to flash Froyo Kernel but don't know what would that do to my CM9 I'm so in love with.
I've searched all the threads on xda and the web but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.
Thanks!
Unfortunately Currently there is no miui build that works on gb kernel.

Thanks for the reply! Is there another rom that I should try? I don't really know about another interface for 4.0 but it would surely be great if there were one.
Edit: I have another question, is there a way to install a froyo kernel on multiboot so i can keep cm9 (GB) on my default boot? I already have multiboot but I'm not sure if flashing wiui, for example, will damage the other rom.
Look at the miui ics thread by sesme

Well as far as I know multi boot requires same kernel for the roms. I don't know if any recent development has changed it. You may check multi boot thread.

Just trying to see if anyone knows of a stable android rom for the HTC HD2 from Tmobile. I installed the ice cream version and it had prblems with the camera, among other things. When i researched, it looked like all version of the Android for the HD2 have some issue. I would like to use Android on my HD2, but I also want all of the functions to go along with it. Thanks in advance for feedback.

No, you have NOT found the 'best ROM'. There is no best ROM. All of the ROMs available are stable, some have certain issues. Try them out and see for yourself, it's a subjective question. Your definition of stable is different from others' definitions. If a standard CM7 ROM isn't 'stable' then I don't know what is.
thats beacause i wrote "best" in quotes
i know that

Cool, thanks for the info guys! But have any of these versions resolved the issues with the camera and the video recording. I have a 3 yr old and I want to be able to record and take picts to upload to FB. Thanks for all the responses so far.

What camera/video issues?
The camera app freezes and the video app just shows colored lines.
And where did you get that from? None of the ROMs I've tried have had those issues, except for the Alpha ICS ROMs ported from the Android SDK.

Senior member, the ROM I used was Android 4 Ice Cream Rom. If you could suggest a Rom and provide a link, I would be very grateful. I would much rather prefer to use Android on my HTC than Windows. Thanks in advance!

This is the link to the rom nigel was referencing... I am a member of t3d support team. We have released two current versions one stock and one themed. We also have a lite version being released soon. Everything works in our roms with no camera or camcorder issues at all. Please check it out I just recently joined the team but have flashed almost every available rom and I found this best which is why I joined the team as well. Good luck with your decision

Well which ICS ROM did you use? NexusHD2 has everything sorted out (at least in terms of my personal usage).
Tytung's NexusHD2 ICS rom is very stable for me.
I have seen so many DEV in dev section has port CM7 based ROM, why?

S4 INFO
Most roms are not made for galaxy y because of its chipset. Most roms are based on cm7 so u can only port it using a cm7 rom made for ur device. U can't port cm7 using your stock rom.

Just a guess have you used any ROM on CyanogenMod 7 AkA CM7 (any device)..I am sure you will know the difference if compared to using stock / based on 2.3.6
So these Developers and Porters are using CM7 as it is considered to be 'THE GREATEST CHALLENGE' Ever !! to get the ROM to be fully functional....:highfive:
Now pending for Bluetooth and the Video Acceleration Driver Etc which is now in WIP while waiting for BroadComm
The Force Will Be With All of Us !
this is because there is not any totally fully working rom one can consider as base for cm9 or cm10. but for cm7 there is... the same thing is also valid for my device u8110... for example none of the cm7 roms of my device has fm radio; since there is no official fm radio files for cm7!.. working on cm9 or cm10 without stock drivers or files is nosense...
