I am fighting to find a way out. I am no developer.
But I don't believe in the EMMC bug ; as no one has a solid proof.
I am not anyway encouraging users to brick your devices.
For those who bricked what I say is instead of labeling it R.I.P. I believe there should be a CPR for retrieval.

Even If I am wrong I will be a time waster but lots of money will be saved in replacing MOBO's

Wrong !! Chasmodo - Please let me know about this bug the way you know.
Has anyone solid proof of this bug ?.
Please look into the EMMC Driver bug thread of Epic4G forum. The developers are discussing different.
Yeah I am no developer for Galaxy Note - I am new to it.
But I knew Linux from Childhood; I used it to solve many hardware issues by turnaround workouts ....
Zero Boot Sector Bad ; No bootloader found; Your harddisks are fried up .....; Floppies are dead - no recognition ;
ext2 was fun but ext4 is new.
God makes mistakes ; it's god only when he admits and corrects it.

CHASMODO YOU HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO KILL THIS BUG
WAKE UP CHASMODO !!
CHANGE YOUR FURY AND LOSS INTO THE POSITIVE SIDE

since this is happening when you are wiping the emmc in recovery, and after it leaves your phone completely worthless, i think its safe to say the emmc is failed.
ive tried everything i can think of to fix mine and just plain gave up, samsung can deal with the dead emmc and gimmie a new motherboard.
stop confusing softbricks with hardbricks

Thanks Jamie
But since you are assuming emmc is dead I m not buying it for the moment.
You may be right.

How did you get it?

the people that butcher these things can suck it imo.
imo we should have pulled the display just for S's&G's...
Is that huge piece of copper part of the flex circuit, or just a heat spreader under the battery?
Are you selling any parts? If that AMOLED/Digitizer is still apart (never been replaced/pulled apart) im willing to buy it.
I replaced mine, and the screen keeps getting dust under it. Once the digitizer is replaced, it's hard to keep dust from getting under it.
Both myself and crusher work for a used electronics reseller... its already on ebay... its broken though so you might be able to get it for cheap. The bids start @ $1
And no the diaplay/digitizer havent been separated.

How to Brick my phone?

I flashed every ROM possible and every kernel possible but i never brick my phone. Is it possible to Brick the samsung vibrant? If o please tell me....
Really? The forum does include a search feature and I'm sure that with minimal effort and a short amount of time you could easily find the answer to this question. However, since I've taken the time to read and already taken the time to post some sort of reply, I figure I might as well throw in an answer. Try flashing a 2.2 Rom, then flashing back to 2.1 without replacing the kernel. You may recall when 2.2 Roms first starting flying out that there were several issues. Eugene I believe was one of, if not the first, to fix the issue. I do have to ask, why would you want to brick your phone? Perhaps something went wrong and you would like it bricked to take back to TMobile? I've seen others try, and it usually doesn't turn out as intended. Either way, best of luck in your endeavors

you really wanna brick your phone? go find the original 2.2 I9000 firmware, flash it on your phone and then try to flash back.... LOL. Dont know why you want to do this, but to each his own. If you're just trying to get an exchange then kill the battery and say it wont turn on... haha

So, in essence what you're wanting to do is break the phone and have appear as if it's Samsung or T-Mobile's fault so you can get out of your obligation and get another phone?
What are you a three year old?
There are two ways I can think of that would perma-brick the phone. Try using search though, as I generally avoid helping people to become stupider than they already are....
throw your phone into the toilet bowl and you'll brick it, you can brick any electronics with this method and if its not enough you can brick your tv by throwing it into your bathtub full of water.
I try every thing you guys posted and my phone still works after i ODIN. I geuss the vibrant in un brick able.

LCD Damaged? In need of serious help. With Picture!

Hello. I can't seem to figure out if my LCD is damaged or other component is causing this.
The basic story is I've purchased a phone from craigslist- he claims that before the update to 2.3.3 the phone was fine but afterward, the screen became all 'negative' and keep rebooting.
Well with the custom rom, I managed to stop the phone from rebooting but the display is.. well bit weird. Let the photo do the illustrations:

Well with the custom rom, I managed to stop the phone from rebooting but the display is.. well bit weird. Let the photo do the illustrations:
As you can see some when I enter setting, the display is ok but in other times the colors all become negative (if you taken a negative shot in camera you'll know what I mean.) Even the homescreen/ market and about 90% of apps show in negative.
Have anyone experienced this?
Have u tried using flashtool to get back onto stock SE 2.3.3 and see if it still happens?
Have u taken this to a service shop?
Hello. I've forgot to mention- Yes I flashed 2.1 and 2.3.3 with no luck.

Do you reckon it's the LCD causing the problem or motherboard?
If flashing different roms hasn't worked for you, then it's leaning towards hardware issues. You could try check it up with a repair store to see what the problem is before buying the parts because you can't be too sure it's LCD or other components.
GREEN is missing, try to paste a green sheet of paper over the screen,it should correct the colors, will cost nothing
If u are going to repair it and spend a bit of money just send it in.

Well.. the LCD only costs $30 US. And replacing LCD doesn't seem tough to do either. Maybe I'll bit the bullet and take the risk.

ok, well this might help, heres a guide on how to disassembly your x10 http://www.xperiax10.net/2010/05/10/xperia-x10-disassembly-guide/
good luck
As above, simply taking it apart and reseating the connections might fix it.
Otherwise, enter the service menu for the X10. It has a screen test, which displays plain green/red/etc colours. You can test this way. In a hurry, link is somewhere here...

question to the hard bricked users

I'm wondering if you guys would ever buy a product from Motorola again? I will surely not. Also I now fully understand all the "haters" who said Motorola is crap, not only because their bootloader policy. It is just the truth, there are so much better phones out there. Maybe the brick was a sign.

I concur with EVERYONE in this thread.
YOU (OP) took the chance at modifying YOUR phone. Moto didnt make you do this. If you had left it to a factory state it WOULD STILL BE WORKING. There is a disclamer on every mod that is out. It's YOUR responsibility to accept terms and void a warranty should you so choose.
Obviously mod/hacking hard/software is not for you. If you CANNOT read a simple warning that is all over the Atrix Subforum, you shouldnt be attempting anything as complex as flashing a firmware to a hardware device. I have been mod'n Moto's since the early RAZR days and have NEVER had a brick, but that is neither here nor there. Moto makes good quality phones and locks them down so hardcore cause of jacka$$es like yourself. /end rant.
Protip: Pack your NEW phone up in the box it came in, take it back to your carrier, and request a feature phone. I'm sure mom and dad will be much happier since you arent costing them $ by bricking another device.
Leave the modding for experienced users who can follow directions...

Oh. It seems you are a bit upset. Why you are so upset?
The funny thing with other phones is, even if you are a j4cka$$ like me ( or this noobish kennethpenn, omfgz look at this j4cka$$ n00b, he bricked his device! ) and brick your device you're still possible to unbrick it. Look at Samsung for example. Or other companies who don't give a **** about their SBK and just release it, so you're able to unbrick your phone.
And please, don't be so butthurt because i'm saying something bad about your lovely phone. I understand it hurt your feelings ( ) ... but it is just my opinion.
I'm sure i'm not the only one who think so. I guess all the other bricked people are already using other phones though. So they not reading this thread. Or they are just afraid of the Motorola-Fanboys. ( Attention: This could be a provocation. Don't get mad. Calm down. )

Have to admit, having owned two Samsung Android phones, they are very difficult to hard brick. I mean, you really gotta mess with bootloader, SBL (ABCs,123s, IDK. I forgot the acronym), to get hard bricked on those Samsungs.

Kernel port Galaxy R?

Is this possible to port Samsung Galaxy R kernel? This is the same Tegra, but there is 3.1 kernel
Run. Fast.

What's that got to do with anything? If anything, that makes matters that much worse - if he's so tech-savvy, he should know about using the search function before opening ANY new threads.
well, after use "Search" I've found many threads w/o answer. So I just would like to know why, just ont one, simple answer.
I kind of agree with him, there is the need of a sticky thread that clearly states what and why cannot work, and what instead is needed, and why.

You should know better than that. Opening a new thread when one already exists on the same subject is a big no-no on XDA. Opening a new thread KNOWING one already exists just makes it worse.
Anyway, I'm sure there's a good reason a Galaxy R release doesn't help. The devs have no obligation to explain in great technical detail why this is not possible, if they say this won't work you should be able to trust their expertise and experience on that. If you need solid proof and reason, maybe you could try extracting the drivers and making them work on the Atrix yourself.
