Hy
It's been a long time since I updated my rom or checked this subforum so it seems that I've missed a few things. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to have Clockwork Recovery on the new ICS bootloader and how to push it there.
I've read some topics but I can't find anything useful or I'm missing something.
Check the dev section. There are some guides there.

I have a rooted r800x phone with 2.3.3 running on it right now. The phone is cdma. I installed cwm on it via the xperia app from marketplace (locked bootloader still). My question is where csn i find compatible cfw for my phone and how do i go about installing it? also if there is anything else i need to know please feel free to mention. This is my first attempt at cfw on a phone. I really want to overclock the phone so any help is appreciated!
All firmware files can be found in the Dev section along with instructions (note the ones with CDMA in the titles).

Unfortunately with a locked bootloader you limit yourself to only stock based ROMs, and it also rules out overclocking. The reason being is that for other firmwares (CM7, CM9, MIUI, etc) you need to flash a custom kernel (the kernels also what allows you to overclock along with some other low level tweaks) and you can't do that without unlocking your bootloader.
*EDIT* And since people keep telling you you need to flash a kernel to do anything, here's the first step:

Read that, that's how you unlock your bootloader (it costs $24ish last I checked), you can't overclock without it, sorry, that's how it is, it's the only way. After that you still need to flash a kernel with fastboot, which is a process in itself. So read up, there be good information in these here threads.
Hello,
My GF just got herself an A200, but she experiences it is a bit on the slow side at times, so I wanted to install a custom rom on it.
Been doing that before on a few phones and my Galaxy Tab 10.1, but after digging in this forum and over at the Acer Tablet Forum I am still not sure if it is all that easy on this tablet.
Sooooo, I was wondering if the coming steps are what it takes to install what I had in mind and if that actually works.
The SimpleRoot topic on the Acer Tablet Forum gave me enough info (assuming it works) on how to get root and install CWM.
Now I wanted to flash (after making a Nandroid back up) the latest CM9 Rom with Obsidian's CM9-Onyx-OC-1.5ghz-v1 kernel.
I have no doubt that somewhere, on either this forum, or on the Acer Tablet Forum there is a guide on how to flash these, but after searching for hours, I still am not sure if I know it correct...
Can I just flash the latest CM9 rom, followed by the kernel, in CWM, from an external sd-card, or are there any steps I need to do before/after that?
This is how it seems to be done considering how it went on my galaxy tab, but I am not confident that it is that simple on the A200..
Thanks in advance!
After searching for over an hour these voluminous threads here, unable to find answer, though probably the needle in the haystack. Apologies for repeat question.
I want to know how to go from a rooted honeycomb rom 3.2 to rooted ics rom, not sure which one.
On my phone, I just load the rom, but I have read here this method cannot be used. I currently have recovery twrp 2.1.3 installed.
Hello All,
I'm a new user of a galaxy note 3 n9005, quite a while I have been eyeing this phone up.
I tried to look for some sticky threads with links to common questions, which I couldn't find, apologies if it does exist then I will be grateful for a link.
I come from path of HTC phones going from HTC Desire Z to HTC One X, the first being an absolute joy for custom ROMS with CWM installed. The latter (HTC One X), being quite a pain with custom rom, having to connect it to a PC every time I wanted to install a ROM.
So really my question is:
1) Rooting is done via CF-AutoRoot, is that still the one people use the most or are there better alternatives now?
2) I don't see anything about boot loader being unlocked, are they already unlocked by default or does CF-AutoRoot takes care of it too?
3) Which custom recovery is recommended for compatibility? CWM Recovery, TWRP?
4) Lastly, can I have the joy of using CWM (ClockworkMod) to view, download and install ROMS like the olden times again?
I just hope my modding and installing roms is more joyful than my HTC One X!
Thanks for your patience, again sorry If there are threads that answer these which I may have missed.
Hello,
I know dual boot and multirom! And I'm struggling a lot with multirom, can't get it to work... I can't find the "right" kernel, some files in the thread are dead and so on.. The thread seems kind of dead to me. I was trying for days now.
So is there somebody out there, who can provide us with working links / files and an short working instruction how we can boot different roms?
My device is D802. I don't care if my priamry ROM will be a Kitkat Stock or Resurrection Rom...
I'd be very grateful! Thank you!
Can somebody who really has an overview tell us if there is a way for multi boot on the G2 at all...
As I read on, I get the impression that it's not possible because of the locked bootloeader but then I don't understad why there was a thread about multirom... And I can't read pages of the multirom thread, it's too much
We need somebody with more experience here
Thanks again
I remember that someone talk about multiboot and say that lg g2 can boot only aosp ROM with another aosp or stock and another stock because of locked bootlader

ok, thx, ****ty news :/
Also found this, but as too often, no summary, understable instructions - so for only a little circle of devs themselves in the end. That's kind of bitter.

It says e.g. you have fo flash a modem and there's a link with many different modems. So if you are not really deep in it, it is hardly usable. Also it semms to me that you have to read the whole thing to have a clue, the fiest post isn't updated (probably -on first glance)
Too bad. But I'm sticking on this. I want the multi/dual boot.
