i tried one click return to stock no luck
under fastboot it tells me to unlock i do the fastboot oem unlock select unlock and then press the power button but it wont proceded just sits their and cant move to select the other option....

When you do mount USB in recovery does it fail? If so then you nexus is basically dead, only a warranty repair or mainboard replacement will save you, oh and all your data is pretty much gone

From those screenshots I am 80% certain it is your memory that has failed, in which case its bye bye nexus
If you send it in for warrant remember to flash stock recovery via fastboot(if that works, if it doesn't hope that they accept it still) and then lock bootloader

DHD got bricked

I had Revolution HD rom or something like that don't remember it't long time it worked. One morning I woke up and my phone didn't respone. Yesterday everything worked..When i tried to boot current rom it stuck on HTC screen..Okay so I decided to flash new rom because recovery still work but I probably lost my root because it can't delete previous rom..Today after long time I decide to ask you what to do. When I tried update new version of rom today it looked like everything it's fine but is stuck on HTC logo or restarts over and over again..
Sorry for bad eng..
DO you want help?I can help u if u only want it
Go into the recovery, wipe/format everything and flash a new ROM. Wipe is needed!
Sleekykenny: Of course i want
I wiped everything but it writes error when I wipe system.
I also flashed new rom and and got message saying successful, but when i reboot my dhd it just stay vendors screen which is 3mobile. But if i remove the battery i can get hboot menu. i also can get into clockworld recoveryand flash rom and wipe data etc. can anyone help or is my phone bricked.
Same problem
Guys I'm not an expert in this, but when you flash a new ROM it takes time to load. Maybe you just didn't wait enough.

You're right. When intalling a new ROM, the first boot is longer because the new one is building a new Dalvik cache and so on... depending of the release.
Be patient a bit more, then report ...

if you can get into your phone into hboot/recovery/fastboot then your phone is not a brick!
the problems with white htc screen is called a bootloop. like the user above suggested use a full wipe. easiest way is connect phone to PC and go into fastboot from your options when in the bootloader
type in fastboot erase system -w this will erase all system and userdata
then disconnect phone from PC when that is complete and navigate to your recovery option. select the recovery option and then mount back to USB cable and select USB toggle option so you can data transfer to SD card.
put new rom you wish to use or redownload one you wanted. then try again
It's actually a splash loop, a boot loop is the boot animation. But you get the idea

the only option i get when i get into fastboot from the phone is bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader and power down. if i chose any of the above then they all go back Hboot menu. cannot get into menu to type in fastboot erase sytem -w. can u advise me on where is the menu?. or i'm i doing something wrong..
thanks.

I don't understand where u was waiting.
Can you describe what was happening?
Are you able to access the bootloader??
1. Pull out battery
2. Put in battery
3. Hold power + Volume Down buttons until inside bootloader UI
4. Use volume keys to navigate to the "Recovery" option then press the power key.
5. Once recovery has booted, use volume keys to navigate to the "Factory reset & wipe data" option, then press power key.
6. Reboot.
Results?
Had the same problem in the past.
I downloaded an RUU and managed to get my phone to boot normally.
Take a look on this:

Got part with fastboot but where am I supposed to write -w? I'm not that good in this that is why I ask here for help. But thanx anyway. And I tried wipe everything using recovery and when I wipe system writes error all the time.
I also tried all the above method but to no avail. Then a friend of mine bought the dhd so i made a goldcard from his phone loaded a pd98img.zip and flashed.. my dhd is back in action... i think this is your only solution, find somebody with the same phone. If u cant let me no i'll send you a gold card.
If it could help me than upload it somewhere And tell me how to use it. I heard about it but not sure.
You can remove your sd card then you will be able to choose the recovery option instead of it constantly going to hboot. The hboot looks for a file and asks you to instal or not install and then tells you to power of. Remove you sd card and you wont get this option so you can go into recovery and reflash a rom (you can re insert your sd card once in recovery and chose the mount option)

I can't get into custom recovery

I have installed custom recovery using GooManager but i'm unable to really get in it, yes it was installed but I don't get in.
I have tried with connecting the usb cable to computer and entering fastboot commando's but everything just gets me at a black screen.
I read there are more problems with the recovery on Nexus 7, but I have followed many instructions here but still i'm not able getting in.
I used the Nexus 7 toolkit to.

This also not worked, it resulted into an black screen after the Google boot logo. And when I boot into the boatloader I get the same.
Can you describe exactly what you do?
Also, what happens when you reboot while holding both top and bottom button (have it plugged into computer the whole time to avoid potential bugs). Are you able to get into fastboot then select recovery?
I have used GooManager to put recovery on it and I rooted with Nexus toolkit. I tried rebooting into recovery using GooManager and I tried with commando that was said here.
I do get into fastboot when pressing powerbutton and both vol up and down together, but when I wanna enter recovery this way it won't work and will end up a black screen.
Are you by chance connected to USB when you try to enter the recovery. Hook up and give it a try and let me know
** I reread and saw you already tried it. Was worth a shot
Yes I connected the tablet with usb but it resulted in the same and GooManager said it installed the recovery, I also got a folder off it on tablet but its empty. I also tried rebooting into recovery with Nexus 7 root toolkit v1.5.3 but after the Google logo dissapears de screen stays black and I don't see any recovery.
Are you sure you flashed the recovery? It seems it's not in there.
You can try flash it again, but don't use the toolkit. Use the command line instead.
Just make sure the recovery is made permanent.
Before you flash again, you can also check if there is a recovery img under /.

Black screen again, I see no recovery, but it goes past the the Google logo but then stays black.
It seems recovery is on it because I have flashed a kernel and made an backup but that I did using Nexus Root Toolkit. Do you think my Nexus 7 might have the backlight off when its booting in recovery? As I got the backlight bug in Android to and that is why I turned off auto brightness.

Yes i can see that Google in midle and unlocked icon and after that it turns black.
There is a stock recovery under systems on the bottom I had to rename that to .bak before I could get my recovery to work.
I think I already figured it out, recovery is installed but my Nexus 7 got the auto brightness issue to, so that is what must be happen the backlight is turned off and that must be why I can't see the recovery.
Because it works accualty. Now I don't know is it a software bug or do I got a faulty Nexus 7, i'm going contact Asus about.
EDIT
I got an replacement and now everything works fine, i also get into recovery so I guess my guess was right, the screen just went black.

I don't know man. With what you have said there is no reason you shouldn't be able to get into your bootloader. If you can't you might be screwed. I flagged your thread in the RC forum. Hopefully some of them will stop by with some other ideas.

Till then anyone else can help , will be appreciated.
Can you do
Fastboot flash recovery (name).img
Then fastboot flash boot (boot).img
And then access recovery? If you are in recovery img pretty sure you can use adb. Just a suggestion.
Whatever is in your boot partition (recovery in your case) will be booted when you turn the phone on. This is why you see recovery.
Edit: you cant get into bootloader *at all?* no fastboot then?

Hi RAZOR, I read your story and it looks like it's not ALL big problems there. I'm willing to help you with that, if you want send me a PM and we talk with GTalk (give you it there), but let's see...
I would plug my cellphone on the PC (hope it works like my Xoom, as they are very similar in some points - Xoom is GED, N4 is Nexus...)
(You said it is booting on recovery), now I would use adb to continue easily...
If you are on Windows:
1 - Open a cmd
2 - cd to adb place
3 - now type adb reboot bootloader, then it would go to fast boot
Now you flash the images you downloaded
On Linux
1 - Open Terminal
2 - Download LAIOT (my tool on signature ) (only to get adb and fast boot ready for use)
3 - Now open terminal and type adb reboot bootloader, then flash the images you downloaded with fastboot
If nothing this work, send me a PM and we'll talk

I had a field day this morning with my phone also when trying to flash the stock image back. Finally got it working. The only similarity we had is that I could not mount my data or sdcard either after flashing the stock image.
However, I WAS able to get into fastboot. Should you be able to get into fastboot then RE-LOCK and UN-LOCK your bootloader and everything should work again (fixed my data and sdcard mount issue). I was then able to boot into Android and carry on.
Fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem unluck
Or use the Toolkit.
My only other suggestion would be to take off the back case and try pull the battery (haven't seen it done and not even 100% sure it can be). Maybe the battery just needs a time-out from the phone.
Hope that's some useful information for you.
Good luck.

[Q] UGH...4.3 OTA update borked by rooted N4--cannot boot up now

The OTA update hit my phone this afternoon. I'm using the 16GB N4, rooted but running stock ROM. Install looked to be going fine, and then it restarted itself and hung up at the glowing X for about 20 minutes.
Possibly stupid, but at that point I held the power button down to restart it. Now I can't get past the X.
Booted into fastboot mode. Recovery Mode gives me the open Android belly icon and says "No command". Start hangs up at the X.
At this point I'm at a loss to what I should even try. I was on 4.2.2 before--no custom ROM or anything like that. Just unlocked bootloader and rooted.
Two options:
1. Flash a custom recovery using "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", then boot into it and flash a ROM
2. Download the stock android images from the Google dev site and flash them using fastboot

Then, plug in your phone into your computer, boot into fastboot mode, extract the zip and run the flash-all.bat file (Or the .sh if your on a *nix/OSX computer). This will flash 4.3. If you don't want to loose your data, delete the userdata.img in the zip file before running the .bat/.sh file. Wipe cache in recovery, and it should boot.
Go into fastboot and download the stock image from Google.
Run the batch file it comes with and bam, you should be good to go

Once you see the Android laying on its back with a red triangle, press and hold power button and then press volume up once. That'll take you to the recovery options. At this point you must decide if you want to wipe data/factory reset (which will let you go past the X logo) because that'll wipe your device, all your data will be gone.

Do I need ADB installed? Have never needed it for any reason on this computer
The flash-all.bat file is giving me the error "fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command" (am on Win 8)
Not sure if it's relevant, but I don't believe I have USB debugging enabled right now. It is 99% of the time, but of course right now I'm almost sure it's not. Am I screwed? My phone isn't showing up as a drive on my computer like it normally would. Thanks in advance!

IT'S ALIVE! Thank you thank you!
I had deleted that userdata.img file prior to all this, so let's see what data I keep. I just ran the initial setup and it's currently downloading my apps. WHEW.
Of course I did loads of icon customization last night before all this mess. I'm mystified what couldn't caused this OTA update to crap out. It looked to be going fine, little green line proceeding to the right as expected, then once it rebooted, it just stayed on that X forever.

I spoke too soon. So I expected to lose root, but now I still can't boot into Recovery mode even after installing the 4.3 image. Open Android belly. So I'm up and running but facing the same issue. Have been unable to flash custom recovery. Any ideas?

I have the similar problem here - OTA 4.3 finished ok, but I've lost my root. When I try to boot into recovery, I got "No command" (probably in english, it's in fact translated) and Android laying with open belly.
After rebooting, system itself works as normal.
Thanks for any help.

The open Android belly is *supposed* to show up? Wow, then I guess I've had a custom recovery so long I can't recall ever seeing this.
If I do that sequence, then I get the options:
- reboot system now
- apply update from ADB
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cash partition
If this is the stock recovery, then how do I go about getting a custom recovery on here? So far have been unsuccessful with sideloading anything via the toolkits. I'm now on 4.3, unrooted, but unlocked bootloader. I guess I was expecting the menu that permits you to flash a zip on the phone FROM the phone.
Thanks!

J*sus C******. Now I can't even get the phone to be recognized as an ADB device. What happened since last night, I have no idea. The toolkits don't help, by any method. Have rebooted computer, phone, unchecked and rechecked USB debugging about a zillion times, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. It's like the phone is invisible. Four more hours, and I am throwing this Nexus off the 23rd floor balcony.
Thanks, though!

When you connect your device via USB, does the computer recognize it and open up a window where you can see your files/folders?

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I can't figure out the inconsistency. Same things are checked. I've changed USB ports (tried all three), tried a new cable, quadruple-checked the settings. Rebooted the phone and the computer, and still it's inconsistent. I can hear the little chime on the computer indicating it's recognizing the device, but only half the time does it open the folder to view files. The other half of the time, the phone doesn't show up as a drive under My Computer at all--even after a refresh.
In a strange new dvelopment, in Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit, the phone is recognized in bootloader mode, but nothing on this green earth can make it show up as an ADB device when powered up and booted into Android. I've tried going at it from every angle. Didn't have this problem last night. Other than setting up email and moving icons around, I didn't do much to it, so I'm mystified and annoyed.
Thanks for any ideas.
Yeah, that's happened here as well. Sometimes I have to unplug and plug it back in to make it show folders and files. It's inconsistent as you say (though to be honest, I can't remember if it's happened again since I flashed 4.3 a week ago). Anyways, you say that adb can't see it when you type "adb devices", right? If you turn off your device (unplugged), then press and hold power and volume down buttons for a few seconds to go to Bootloader and then plug it back in, can you run any adb command? Like push, pull, etc.? That would rule out any faulty file in your platform-tools folder (where fastboot.exe is).

Black screen on recovery boot

So I rooted my g2 then I used clockwork mod app to install recovery. Well I booted to recovery and it's just sets at a black screen. When plugged into a computer it pops up to format like 30 drives. I have tried the recovery batch file for cwm and it results in the same thing. Tried flashify and flashing twrp and still have the same thing. Please I have no idea what else to do.

I ended up flashing back to stock and then rooted with ioroot15 and then followed these instructions http://www.android.gs/install-twrp-recovery-lg-g2/ It worked.
But me being an idiot didn't take my titanium backup off the phone before the flash so I lost all my settings. #draganddrop #oopsies

Hello,
I am on VS98012B as well. I rooted with 'ioroot24' .. That all went fine. Now when I am trying to install a custom recovery (got botched the first couple times) ... now I can not get the phone to pop up the RSA fingerprint and when I try to boot into recovery using ADB commands or quickboot the phone just goes to a black screen and if it is plugged into the computer (windows 7) it pops up a bunch of different drives at me like endleesss was having. I could use and would appreciate some pointers!
Thanks!

I am getting this exact same problem, I used ioroot25, which also went fine. When I go to reboot into recovery I just get a black screen. When I boot into recovery with it plugged into my computer I also get Windows telling me that I need to format a bunch of drives before I can use them. I also get one drive that lets me open and it has a "images" folder in it, with a bunch of other files inside that. Not sure what is going on but any help would be awesome.

Seeing this exact same thing after going to a 4.4.2 ROM. I was coming from a 4.2.2 with TWRP 2.7 and now cannot get back in to recovery mode. I get just a black screen and also see the multiple drives popup when I plug in USB to the pc. I've tried flashing different recoveries with no luck. Hope a fix for this can be found.
Same problem but worse
I have this problem as well and have known that it needing fixing. Problem is the phone tried to auto-update to kitkat at night and now all i get is lg logo some commands in the top left then it tried to install via stock recovery. I can't get away from this as far as I know yet. I can't get to dl mode to just flash stock. I feel i might be completely boned. I tried pulling the battery ribbon to see if that would kick it out of this commanding it into recovery but I really don't know what to do at all at this point. Can someone help please or atleast tell me im boned so i can try to salvage. maybe do a warranty replacement. Thanks in advance
This thread will help with the "drives popping up", "black screen" etc..
--------------------------
For the ones with fastboot issue who can't enter dload mode:
download yor corresponding laf.img
Download this
extract it, put your laf.img inside(rename laf.bin to laf.img if needed), run "run this", you should be able to boot to download mode.

I was able to follow all of the directions in that post though it doesn't seem to have done the trick. I have left a post in that thread asking their opinion on things but idk if it will be answered since it is such a large post.
If you have any experience with these partitions, could you direct me to a way to stop the device from trying to run the OTA. This seems to be the largest problem as to why its not working since it pushes itself into recovery every boot, though it seems the recovery partition flash didn't take for some reason.
I am using 64-bit Ubuntu could that be an issue?
help me
my lg g2 got black while i was trying to install rom when i turn on it its screen got black noting show no logo no recovery mode noting :crying: plzzzz help meeeee plzzzz any body plzzzzzzz
