For some reason I cannot download the Amazon app store
1) I checked the box for "Unknown Sources"
2) I used the default browser in the TF300 to go to Amazon store download and I clicked the link. Nothing happened.
3) Downloaded Dolphin HD and tried the same. Nothing happened.
4) Ok, I will download the apk on my PC and transfer it onto the SD card or through Dropbox
5) Went to Amazon store download and clicked the link. Nothing happened. I tried this on IE9, FF and Chrome.
6) I used their little box to enter my email address on all the browsers and clicked the Go button. Nothing happened. No emails.
Am I going insane that NOTHING works? Would appreciate any help anyone can provide.
fyi, I reviewed the available threads that popped when I entered my title(cool feature) and none of them helped as I do not want to root my device.

When you are in the amazon app store website look to the right corner, you will see a box that says Get Started Download the Amazon Appstore: in that box enter the email address you have on setup on your device. You will receive a link in your email for the download. I suggest you use either Dolphin HD or Opera Mobile browser for downloading the file. If anything goes wrong you can download to your pc and transfer it. If you're not receiving the email check you spam or junk, or maybe wait a couple of minutes.

I already tried that. That was point number 6. It doesn't send any emails. And point number 3, I already mentioned I used Dolphin HD.
Edit: and as I already mentioned in my steps, I did try it on the PC. No luck.

Yes! Finally we have Push notifications for Facebook AND Twitter After the new facebook update, you might have noticed you are forced to have your facebook sync every 5, 10, 30 etc. minutes? Yeah, drove me insane too. Well there is now a fix. This is not my software. But it WORKS! and thats all that matters right? Make sure you check the "Unknown Sources" tab in Settings -> Application BEFORE you download to allow you to install this app. Browse this link below on your andorid device, download the small .APK, and install. Simple as that. Let me know if it works for you! Also, follow me on twitter @rosenbachera

Very Easy to do! Go to that website on your laptop/desktop, download the apk to your desktop, connect your phone as usb storage, drag it over to the root of the storage, or a folder if you choose. then go to your android, in the app list click files, then on phone, navigate where you saved it, press on in, and voila! And after the beta is done and it goes vo ver 1.x, then hopefully on the market
seems like a good idea and will give it a try, shouldn't they put this into the Twitter and Facebook App though?
UPDATE
Get an error when confirming second password
"Sorry some error occured"
Also my Twitter and Facebook passwords are different but it only asks for email, username and password so can't enter different passwords for Twitter and Facebook?

So i have some family members that wanted an android device where they could easily select netflix, hulu, youtube, twitch etc.... but they didn’t want to create an amazon account and i sure as heck didn’t want to leave my account linked to it. If you deregister your device from your amazon using the web the fire tv will not let you use any application until you create or login to an amazon account.
So what I did was:
1. You need Root
2. Install an alternative launcher
3. Using Titanium backup freeze KFTV Launcher and OOBE
4. Go online to amazon.com and deregister the device from your account
5. No more nagging message telling me to log in using an amazon account.
Hope this helps!!!
Because this will kill your connection to amazon please keep in mind that any amazon app downloaded will stop working.

I'm glad someone did this. I always would like to de-register my device from my account, since I have no longer use it. But I didn't try because I'm afraid that will block my root device. By the way, what OOBE stands for?

Just came home and tried it, and it won`t work for me. The login screen will pop up to ask for login to amazon, even I have my own launcher. Weird....

Out of box experience - referring to the initial state a device is in when it is taken out of the box. A lot of time the first time you power on a new device it will come up with an initialization wizard that asks to active/register etc, and it only runs once.
Hi,
I wanted to try the Kindle for Samsung app on my Galaxy S7 edge through the Samsung Apps store, especially the "one book per month free" option.
But upon clicking "Sign in" I get the popup that I already have a Samsung account within the account manager and it won't let me login - it does not show the login form at all. I guess it wants to create a new account and then fails. See attached screenshot.
I have already removed the samsung account and then tried to login via the Kindle app. Upon clicking the sign in button, the login form shows up, then I have entered the credentials and got sent back to the "sign in" page and afterwards the same error message as in the screenshot occurs... haha
does this work for you?

Same problem here ...
thanks for the info, which country are you from? i wanted to contact amazon support (the email listed in the app), they redirected me to Amazon Germany (as this is my home market place) and they have no clue and redirected me to US support again. US support said i should contact them via chat and now the guy in the chat says I should contact Germany again *lol* and the German chat support just told me now I should contact Samsung... haha, reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI5kwSap9Ug
Exactly the same question
I have met the same problem and already got connection with Samsung HK. The customer service staff told me that they met the same problem as well and they would report this to Samsung. He also advised me to wait several weeks for the update of the kindle for Samsung...
Solution!
This worked for me, from another website: I had the same problem. The fix is pretty simple, since you have an S7 Edge I'll assume you have Android Marshmallow 6.0? Just do the following Go to Settings 》Applivations 》 Application Manager 》 Select Kindle 》Now here you will find "Permissions" click on that. 》 Grant all 3 permissions I.e Contact, Storage and Telephone . Now go to your Kindle by Samsung and click Samsung Book Deals and Voila!
thanks very much, that worked! strange that this is disabled by default, guess they didn't bother to update the app for android 6 yet
Thank you. Didn't think of looking there and was getting irritated.

It works. Really thx.
Strange it is that the kindle for SAMSUNG is not set the permissions as default in A SAMSUNG phone and lacks the notification Of permission allow
Thanks for the tip ...
But you don't have to switch all permissions.
For me it works when grant permissions to contacts. Storage and telephone is still disabled.
Thank you, this worked for me too.
I haven't tried downloading Hulu for a while, but just got my ChromeCast and wanted to give it a shot.
-It's not searchable in the app store from the device
-If I go directly to the hulu app link on mobile, it says my device is not compatible
-If I try to install it from play.google.com, it lists my "Verizon Wireless XT1585" and says that it's not compatible
This phone isn't rooted or cracked or anything (I don't even know if it can be), so any help (short of sideloading it/downloading the APK) would be welcome. I swear I've had it on here before, so I'm not sure if it's related to the Nougat update that happened last month. I did a full reset after that so if it was on there it's gone.
Thanks!
Wouldn't hurt to email Hulu and ask why it's not available.
[email protected]
If you email that address it kicks back and says that they no longer receive emails. They refer you to help.hulu.com which has no useful answers.
Ahh, that's about useless.
I have rooted nstg with 1337 rom. For very long time i've been using dropbox & dropsync to sync nstg with my hdd bookshelf. But my old version of dropsync is not working anymore and newer is not compatible with android 2.1.
Is there any other usable aplication to sync dropbox. Or maybe there is better system to sync computer with nook over internet?
Yes, i know this is ancient system and hardware. But apart from this feature it is still usable.

So, I only know about Dropbox. Is that not working for your NSTG any more? Google Books is another option if all the books are EPUBs.
Mmm.....I just fired up Dropbox on my NST and uploaded a file which I can see on my PC.

It's an "original" Dropbox app, v 1.2.4. You can download the apk file (and others) by following the link in my signature below.

I checked. You are right. Orginal dropbox 1.2.4 works. But it can only download/upload files. I can't sync local folder and dropbox. I would like to have exact copy because i mostly read offline
Bwt. link to zip i post from signature is blocked by mediafire.

Thanks for the heads-up on the file problem at Mediafire. Hmm...I wonder how to get around that?
There is still Google Books. Once the book is available on your device for off-line reading, you don't need to reconnect and sync unless you want to read it from some other device and pick up where you left off.
Edit: OK, I think I've fixed the zip file download. At least it just worked for me from a newly edited link. Thanks again for the info.

You're right, it's gone. I removed it recently since I never used it. Let me see if I can scare up a copy.
Edit: Here you go. Version 2.3.8. I just tried it and was able to log into my account.

When I try to log in, I get a message saying the app is out of date and I need to update it. Is there a way to get around that?
Edit: It won't let me log in because of the message, it's not just a superficial issue.

That's pretty bizarre. I really did install it last night before posting and was able to sign in without difficulty. I even saw a document I left there some time ago.
I wonder...have you updated your cacerts.bks file? Maybe the security certificate needed to sign in to the Dropbox server has expired in the old cacerts.bks file. That's not so far-fetched as a cause since similar behavior was seen with the Kindle app when that certificate expired.
Omg thank you so much for posting this apk - it worked to get my NST back into Dropbox with the workflow I’m used to. I thought the ability to use a working Dropbox sync was dead long ago
FWIW - I accidentally clicked login without my password filled, it asked for a 2-factor password pin sent to my email. I entered it and my Dropbox password and it’s all good now

You're welcome. No one is more surprised than I am since I long ago got the message from Dropbox that the old app would no longer be supported!
