Maybe this is Official Android 4.0.4..

look at the letter "K" and i'd rather believe it a carrier-branded version

They need to do something. The 1.4GHz CPU in the Arc S should be more than capable or running ICS withiout lag, when you have 600Mhz phones like the new HTC Desire C running ICS...

wow thanks for your good news!
one question!
my phone have a nordic Rom (4.0.3), but i think my phone is from middle east, now if new update from sony be available , what version my phone gonna be get? (NC or ME?)

The leaked 4.1.B for the Xperia Pro was Android 4.0.4 so it is safe to assume this "k" release is 4.0.4 as well.

it's 4.0.3 for branded devices

Someone's seen my post! - still with no replies.
I posted this in the hope of finding out why I have a 'K' in the middle of by build number when everyone else seems to have an 'A'. I haven't update my phone in quite a few weeks so I don't know why the original post says it was only certified today.
If anyone knows how to root it, I'd be really grateful

last i checked (don't quote me on this) the 2.4 build is just minor updates to 2.3, nothing major at all, and will probably be forever and a day before we see a 2.4 release.

As reminded by Engadget - remember 2.0 to 2.1? It was pretty quick.
..it also looks like that build was skinned a little.
Edit: I just noticed that the kernel is really old. Starting to look fishy.

You can easily change the firmware version when creating a custom Rom... I've seen 2.3, 2.4, 3.0, 3.5...
C'Mon... go to http://airbenchmark.Com and you'll see them and their benchmarks.. if they haven't been deleted yet...
My benchmark was number 125 on the list. I was the first 2.2.1 tester on Nov. 27

Some friends to see some old products U8800 can upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 version of the expectations and concerns. Huawei Mobile R & D focus to a more leading ICS4.0 version up, with the fastest speed for the main products directly upgrade to 4.0, not 4.0 upgrade also try to upgrade to 2.3, unless some of the hardware capabilities are limited. Another, Vision Honor and other new models offer 2.3 version listed on the first, and then will be the fastest speed up the upgrade to version 4.0!

Chinese HTC One Getting 4.2.2 Update Now

Engadget China is reporting that the Chinese version is receiving the 4.2.2 update and that it gets rid of the menu bar and add battery percentage as we already knew. Here's hoping the unlocked versions will be getting the update very soon now.
Apologies to the non-Chinese readers,

Definitely not 5.1 since only the last number changed.
Anyhow, even 23.1.A.0.726 is pretty good at the moment. It works smoothly and the battery life is at least as good as on Kitkat if not slightly better.
Do you guys know if call recording is standard as it is in 4.4.4?
This is a must have feature for me and want to know if I should upgrade or not
Thanks

Except for 23.2.A.0.278 that is still android 5.0.2
LOL.. I'm curious to see what will be for the actual 5.1
740 appears to be a carrier build for Orange.

Sony confirms Nougat update!

Sony has unveiled its plans to release 7.0 update for its top devices, and that includes X Performance. Although an obvious thing, it's good to hear from company, and know that it's paying attention.
