Hi everybody and thanks for all roms and kernels it's possible to find on this forum. And excuse my english, i'm french.
I have a big problem with my Arc s. I bought it one month ago, battery life was around 12 hours. I try many kernels and roms. One day, I use both gps and data at the same time. The battery get completly discharged after around 7 hours. After that, I had to buy a charger for the battery because the phone didn't do the job. Now, I restart my Arc s it's a bit warm and it looses around 20% percent of the battery in one hour without wifi, data, gps, screen...
I really don't understand. Is it possible to do something or do i have to send it to sony.
If you can help me, i am on arconium 2.2 with the stock kernel (one with recovery).
Thanks
Have you tried reflashing the rom? Maybe this can fix your problem.
In addition, try charge it to 100%, than go to recovery->advanced->wipe battery stats. Sometimes it works.
Hope it help

Hey Guys
just found this forum now, am in straight away
am using HTC wildfire for 2 weeks now, maybe less, when I got the phone i was so excited and turned it on immediately before charging, I do not know if this a reason for my battery to get empty too fast, I MUST charge it everyday, some days heavy use, but I have tested for normal use and still the same, as i saw in many threads all people are happy from the battery life.
so any idea to solve this silly weak battery.
cheers
This is Touch2 territory :S
Try a full discharge then a full recharge cycle. Let it die to the point that you can not get the phone to turn on and then recharge. These batteries should not need this but it might help.
Hello everyone, i am writing this thread today, in hope of getting some battery tips from you lot, why? Well because my phone is having some serious battery issues, it only lasts 6 hours max, no matter which rom is on it, which is just not good enough.
I have used the stock froyo rom, SlashDW's CM 7.0.1 unofficial rom, and now running Frosense, by Rushness, but i have had no sucess with this battery problem.
Hopefully someone can help me solve this issue, i would be very greatful, thanks.
Try to wipe battery settings from recovery before flashing rom.
like extrahacker said, wipe battery stats... than leave device powered off and charge till full, than re-install rom of choice
I looked at a post regarding that on the web, and followed the instructions. Charged till full, wiped battery stats, and then let it drain and charge again, still no luck. Any other ideas? Thanks for your help, you both
I find that the CM roms are very battery consuming. The Froyo for Trout rom gives me a full day.
You must also consider that the battery is 2+ years old, it would have high battery wear. Which might explain why you have bad battery life.
Agree with Ace42 - I recently acquired a G1 and the battery life was shocking, I was lucky if I got 4 hours! I have just switched on my phone with a new battery from ecell off ebay and will give it a blast over the weekend.
It can't do any worse but I am hoping for at least 8/9 hours!
OK so the first day I just scraped 24 hours... it must have been the old battery!
I can't complain!

My battery in my Defy is the worst battery i've ever had. I Changed every rom but the battery drain was giant. With no use 21h exactly, with no sim inserted, no wifi, no use at all, but with some wifi and maybe 2h of screen on battery is gone in 5-6h.. I tried to calibrate battery for many times, changed basebands, changed roms, but there is no diference... Can someone help me?
Did u try something like battery monitor widget (like guy who get 6 days run defy!) Maybe u see what drains your battery.

it happens to me to when i started changing roms.
just calibrate the battery and keep using it for a while, lets say 2 weeks.
it becomes more stable.
at least that happen to me give it a try
For me was more or less the same with Stock Android 2.2 and CM7.1, but with CM7.2-nightly-12042011 I got 2 days and 9 hours as record. I just did a clean install followed by a battery recalibration. I heard this is/was the best ROM for the battery issues. Did you try that one?
in Android u cant expect an exceptional battery backup when u use it regularly..u can get a max backup of 25-30 hours for moderate use and 40-45 hours in complete standby
Avoid using apps which will refresh very often (twitter, Facebook etc) then u may get more juice
Hello! I'm having serious problems with my battery. Since I installed CM10 my battery just goes from 80 to about 60 or 50%, then it drops again from 40 to 20%. Already tried to calibrate with battery calibration app, or this methods, done full wipe (did the process from the beggining, back to Cm7 and no results at all!
Pictures attached.
Please, pleaase help! I'm selling my defy, and do not want to sell it with this issue.
PS: Original battery

After checking the ownership in root explorer or simular apps, recharge to 100% and let it sit for a couple of hours. Do that again after discharging it.
You will probably be selling a worn battery anyhow, but then maybe with a calibration so the percentages work. This is mostly due to changing with a fast-charger (not the stock one) or charging it not often enough. If you have the habit to let it go to 0%, then it is worn in less then a year to a degree that it last for a couple of hours less then in the beginning.
New battery is the only way, I got an anker one off amazon for £5 and have great battery life on cm10. The
above method or a change of ROM may help but the only real cure for me was a new battery

Hey dear forum members,
I have my G2 (D802 Europe) now for nearly 1.5 years and I've nerver really experienced that "wow"-effect everyone had with the battery life. Soon I rooted my phone and used cyanogenmod instead. It was a bit better but not for long time and now my nerves are at their end (I don't know why this has not occured earlier :?) so I went back to stock by flashing stock and unrooting but nothing helps. I want better battery life but I don't know why it is so bad.
I get about 6-8 hours of battery life with 2-4 hours of display on time with 50-70% brightness. Sometimes i have 100% brightness but i think battery life is still bad even with 100%. I only use it for calls, whatsapp, facebook, youtube and surfing. I am not even playing games on it. Anyone experiencing the same problem(s)? I was disappointed for over a year but now I have enough time to try things or even send the phone to LG for battery replacement (Root Checker is tripped. Hope it will work anyway if there is no other solution).
Here would be some screenshots of the battery life today but XDA don't want me to do that so I will describe it for you:
Time from 100% to 0% was 7 hours.
Display on time was about 3 hours with 1 hour 100% and since then auto brightness.
In the statistics the display used 39%, the OS 13%, the system 10% and the rest is below 5%
Sorry if my english is bad anywhere in the text I am trying my best.
I hope you can help me with my problem and have a nice day
Small additional info:
I am charging my phone when its about to die before I go to sleep where I would charge it normally. As Example if I use it "too much" for videos or browsing I am charging it while going on with that. And I am not the 100-4% and then full charge person. I charge it when it is possible because it drains so quick. Maybe I harmed the battery over time by doing it but it was also bad when I got the phone new so anyways.
