Nexus LED - Nexus One General

So has anyone else LED turned blue? Mine is really, really blue.
Sent from my Nexus One using xda premium

Iirc the n1 has a teal blue led as well as a dark blue one. What seems to be the issue?
sent from the passengers side of my best friend's ride tryna holla at you.

Its the camera flash LED. It used to be pure white. The one day I noticed it had turned blue. Pictures taken with the flash on a blue washed if you will. That's the only minor issue. It doesn't bother me much. Just curious to see if anyone else's had done the same.

oohhh the camera flash LED i though you were talking about the led ball on the front side of the phone haha.
so when the flash activates for a picture, instead of flashing white it flashes a blue-ish light now? i havent experienced that issue personally myself, sorry

Yeah it flashes blue and in a darkish area when taking pictures it causes the pictures to come out bluish. Like I said, just curious if I'm the only one or if it is something others are experiencing. Doesn't bother me too much.

My Desire is the same now. I blame it on me using the flashlight on Death ray mode too often. I assume its half burned out.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA

Lol! That makes sense I do the same.
Sent from my Nexus One using xda premium

Rarely use it as a flashlight; instead I use a bright screen via 'Color Flashlight' app. Mine is still white.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA

Well I found it hard not to use it since it is better than any flashlight I have owned and didn't drain the battery much for the amount I was using it. Better than worrying if your flashlight battery is going to die (no gauge on them)

Abuse the led and it will start dying, big surprise. I suspect walmart has better flashlights than the N1's led, but any decent flashlight will kill it on both flexibility (low to full output), battery life, and of course output.
Look up Fenix. Cheap, work well. Get a 10 pack of 123 batteries online for $15 and it'll last you 5 years or more.

I find the camera always worked better in well lit areas without use of the flash anyways so I don't blame the phone for the led burning out and it doesn't bother me that much. At least it still works.
Sent from my MildWild for Desire using XDA

Lol yeah same here. I got me a surefire 1000 lumen led flashlight now. Brighter than anything I've ever seen. But the blue led looks cool on my Nexus lol.
Sent from my Nexus One using xda premium

After using it for a while and after the LED gets hot, its color will distort. It is a problem with the bulb itself and not any other hardware, such as the plastic piece that covers it. It is a result of age; therefore, there is no way to 'fix' the issue other than just to finally upgrade to a new device or replace the bulb if even possible.
I use my LED flash as a flashlight at max brightness and mine still is not blue yet, wonder why mines seems to be more durable...

I can't believe that they didn't put a LED on this phone either. It makes no sense.

Because you can't take your eyes off your phone, so a LED is useless
noled looks very nice
great to see NoLED working on the SII
I wonder how the new SAMOLED+ screen adjusts for battery savings with my app. I've seen through the videos that there are some screen brightness/color customizations that dynamically adjust to the image displayed on the screen.
I can't wait til I get my hands on this device.

It does look nice, until you notice that it drains your battery and keeps the phone warm to the touch since the screen is on the whole time when a notification is on the screen.
but since it has an samoled screen, i dont think that the whole screen is on, or not?
i thought a main advantage of BLACK on samoled screens is that the black pixels are OFF and only others need to be maintained with power?
Just use it and you'll see.

"Notifications via button light anyone? Will support LG 2X & samsung galaxy S2 initially. app next week. IMPORTANT: no impact on battery"
Carnt see it affecting the battery, i for 1 will try tuesday

Yea it is said it works like this. But I can't imagine the black pixels consuming 0% power. Can't wait for my Sgs2 in two weeks!

if you also know what you're doing and configure the app right. you could make it consume absolutely no more power than without.

Isn't there a LED indicator on the front of the GSII? Look at 0:15 of the below video where it blinks while phone is booting up:

the black pixels don't use power, but the display controller still has to be powered on and that uses battery too

Weird light being emitted from proximity sensor? [Video]

http://youtu.be/8qKYJVnUzwI
I noticed a weird light being emitted from proximity sensor when I entered the stock Samsung messaging app. It looks like it could be an infrared light coming from the sensor, but it's faintly visible to the naked eye. I thought I would take a video of it to show what I'm talking about. It's more apparent in the video than what you actually see. You can see it yourself in a dark room.
Has this been addressed? Does anybody know why this is happening?
isnt it looking to see if you move the phone to your ear in the messaging app so it can do the call feature?
I noticed this on mine last night. It's not like that right now though
I have the Motorola Atrix and when I use the proximity sensor, it does the same thing, glows a very very dim red, only visible in a dark room. Guessing that's how that sensor works in a generic way.

You have the eye tracking on? I just assumed it was that.
SwiftKeyed on my Sprint Galaxy SIII...
Mine does the same thing. It's for the direct call feature for texting. If you turn direct call off in your motion settings you won't see it anymore.

I don't think mine's ever done this before and I've enabled smart stay before.
i have that as well...noticed it a few days ago..didn't think much of it
It's direct call for texting. Really it's anything that uses the proximity sensor. Smart stay uses the front facing camera.

Nexus 4 Camera bug

Zoom into the photo and you will see white lines a the right and at the left side.
My pictures don't have such white lines. Maybe it is just a bug of your camera app? Try a different camera app and look if your white lines are still present

yes i mean the two white lines on the edge of the photo. it usually happens when taking pictures in dark environments. i also have camera zoom fx on my phone and tried that and the lines still appear.
anyone else have this issue?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I am. It seems to be a bug cuz it happens randomly. Can't really replicate it. Tends to happen after messing with zoom.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I had several pictures get funky on me the other day after messing with the zoom. sucks because they were of my little boys birthday, no idea what happens
Same issue on both of my phones and it happens with my friend as well. I figured out a way to reproduce this. Turn flash off and take the image in low light. For example with the room lights off and just the lighting of your monitor will do it. The darker the better. Doing it this way seems to trigger it 8-9/10 times. My friend tested while at work with office, but was still able to trigger it taking pictures of a picture of the serial number on the bottom of his laptop. No zooming was used.
The lines that come up on the right are always 2nd, 3rd, or 4th pixel from the right. On some occasions I have been able to get it to come up as the 2nd and 4th at the same time. On the left side it seems to always come up between the 16th and 20th pixel from the left. I will have to look closer at all of the images to confirm it is always like this.
I am not even sure what to do now...
Thanks for bringing it up.
I just noticed it as well.
I'm also seeing this! bugs the **** out of me!
Mine as well

Kinda odd that since the 4.2.2 update I have begun to experience this bug for the first time as well.
Anyone notice this issue on any other camera app besides the stock?
I hadn't noticed, but mine does the exact same thing. I could always crop that out I guess...
What's worse is the blurring effect I get. You really see it on the hand and ear. Anybody have this or know how to fix? Stock, rooted. Happens on 4.2.1 and 4.2.2

Turn off HDR. Since it averages three images, it's not good for moving subjects
Just tested it on Camera Zoom FX app using TTZip's steps and was able to reproduce the problem there too. Could this be considered a hardware defect?
Also experiencing this.

Green tint on camera

Does anyone else have this? I've noticed this only happens when I take solid color pictures. This is my room wall you can notice a green tint. (its in the center)
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I have the same issue. It is not much of a problem though, most cameras behave strangely pointed to a solid bright color.
I'm having this problem as well. It looks more like a sepia look to me around the focused part of image.. Your picture looks same as mine. My pictures before did not look like this. Did you ever find a fix for this or cause?

Just wanted to bump this thread.
My photos end up with a reddish hue in the center of the photo. I've been trying to figure out how to describe this/see if other people have similiar issues. I am not sure if I can get Google to replace if it is a sensor issue or not?
Crappy sort of out of focus photo of hue:

Weird light bleed problem - please help

hey so i just got my nexus 7 2nd gen and it is somehow lightleeding red?? Anyways i attached some pics, should i return it? It only happens when the screen is black
Nah just let it be.....even if it starts to talk or do jumping jacks.
We must learn to let our tablets be themselves. If it wants to bleed red light dont judge it embrace it and support it.
If it wants to randomly shut off and crack its own screen let it be.
Off course return it lol!!
lol yeah i guess i should but some reported the next one they got was even worse lol. Also i bought from ncix, anyone know if they would take returns from light bleeding?

Just curious, can you show a picture of the normal screen not black but with something displaying?
Is the brightness all the way up?
Is it red looking just from the side? How does it look when using normally? I would return it if it looks messed up under normal use.

Well i think im not gonna return it. Only can be seen on the side and only when its a black screen. After using it for today i did not notice at all when using it. Probably wont be staring at a black screen a lot so i think i should be okay.
That's good news. I'm glad it will be ok for you.
I've never tested mine for lightbleed.
