morning all
I reverted back to HC from F/Reaper using APXFlash Tool, ended up at 3.0.1
Took OTA's until I got to 3.2 when I got an error of "not enough internal memory
to install" - or something to that effect.
Strange I'm thinking - check Settings>Apps and I have 15MB free of 126MB??
wtf - 126MB you gotta be joking - Where has all my storage gone?? Device i
nformation in Settings
hows Rom Size of 32GB - I'm at a bit of a loss here -
At least with 3.1 I can root and get cwm -
any suggestions??
UPDATE 1:
did full wipe and format, check settings, no change, 126MB TOTAL
then I thought, holy s**t, have I somehow formatted this while reverting last nite??
so I chech the flash.cfg files in the tool, with an EUU I used with timmydeans zip.
they are different, I just not sure, whether that is responsible for my current issue...
so next trick is to try flashing ics again
Figure out the problem?

Well I got fixed....but as far as the problem itself, think dodgy file in EUU i used. But haven't quite got to the bottom of it, no.
I'm all setup now so will wait couple days b4 I try to reproduce the issue.
128MB ain't alot 2 play with...sogotta bit of reading 2 do. Def post back here once I got it sussed.
how did you fix it?
I am having the exact same problem you posted here. How did you happen to fix it?

did a full data wipe in CWM and re-flashed ICS. Got all my memory back.
I found these instructions posted by Thor on TegraOwners. All credit goes to him.
"here's how to:
go to in recovery enter "Backup and Restore" and click on "Toggle backup and restore of internal storage (/data/media)"
should say enabled....
then go into "Mounts and Storage" and "format /data"
this will REALLY format data and you will loose all you have in the in the internal memory"
THanks Buddy

I know you are not the creator or OP concerning this technique, however you are some one who has managed to save me HOURS and HOURS of time by simply copy and pasting the OPs instructions. This managed to help me find it easily with a simple Google search and three simple lines of direction.
Thank you buddy
All people can learn alot from members like you that take time to post rather than critique and redirect to another thread. Thumbs up handsome rob

okay this has happened to me twice before already and is starting to get very annoying.. the first times i had to reformat the whole SD card and start completely anew
i am using American android 2.3.5 booting from SD card. first boot takes about 5 minutes and no problems whatsoever. after some time for some reason i have to restart the phone, and when i boot into the load screen ( the screen which says Powered by american android ) its just stuck there the whole time. taking out the battery and trying to boot again numerous times has failed.
can anyone help with this problem?

see if you have a folder called android on sd card, this rom seems to create a folder called android, with sub folder called data.
delete both, data and them android, phone should boot and load properly then, but you have to remember to delete it everytime you close down,or boot windoes first and do the delete then.
have had same prob with multiple aa roms.

hijacking threads is considered rude, hoqwever to explain it, it stops people with one post who haven't read anything, filling chefs rom release threads with 'i want get this on my phone, how do i do it, tell me now' posts.

Thanks, deleting the DATA subfolder worked. Booted but seems to be stuck, no screen display. After waiting for 10 or 15 minutes, screen came on after pressing a few buttons. Everything seems to be like it was.
On the latest clockworkmod recovery (6.0.4.3), under the "mounts and storage" option the are 2 new partition that can be formatted, /persist and /firmware. The problem is: I've just formatted those two partitions and now I don't have radio anymore and the boot time is significantly longer.
i also want to know the answer to that. i formatted those partitons too and i think it broke something about bluetooth. i need to re-pair bluetooth headsets every time i want to use them.

I followed the steps on the forum to swap my internal memory with my SD card to increase space for apps. It worked great everything seemed to be working perfect at first. I had to do some house cleaning with broken links to ringtones and pictures but I somewhat expected that. The other day I was reading there was an update for Chrome Beta so when I got home I started the update. After it downloads and tries to install I get an error message that says Insufficient storage available. I have about 16gb free on my "new" internal memory. I deleted a large 2gb app and data but it still gives me the same error. I did do some looking but didn't find anything use full. Any help will be appreciated.
EDIT: It is not just Chrome Beta every app I try and update says the same thing. I also tried downloading random apps but i just finally ran in to the error after a very large app tried to install.

When I have corrupted my ext sd, you can read but not write. I found that mounting the card to a pc or mac with one of those usb/micro shuttles. Then copy everything to a enpty folder, format the sd ON YOUR PHONE. Then put all back to the empty card/shuttle.

Thanks thought I had it figured out last night using TWRP but I'll go through that post and figure it out.
I think I did it now. I had to go back and revert all my original attempts at it to get it to work. I can see the internal as the external and the SD card is mounted as internal. Haven't tried to add a bunch of apps yet to see if it gives me the same message as before. I did get all my ringtones back I lost after swamping the memory using the wrong way for my version of android.
Be sure to get twrp 2632.
Its now all over the development section where people are trying custom ROM and getting stuck at infinite bootanimation loop.
This, as explained by famous developer dhacker29, the f2fs file system is very sensitive and gets easily corrupted. This results in stuck at bootanimation.
Presenting the solution – One time, shut it all and noob friendly
Common steps
1) From your working ROM, copy all your sd card data somewhere safe (PC, pendrive etc)
2) Backup all your apps (you can use titanium back up or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1581653)
3) Download stock firmware for all those “what if it goes wrong” issues.
4) Install drivers for Motorola devices
5) Download your favourite ROM
6) Install minimum adb and fastboot
7) Install TWRP (official support is now available)
The geek method
8) Format /system, /data and /data/media (I strictly mean format as simple wipes won’t do)
9) Now sideload your rom file
a. Advance in TWRP
b. ADB sideload and swipe to start
c. Connect to computer where you have installed drivers and adb
d. Start cmd and type adb devices – it should show your device
e. Now side load by typing adb sideload drive letter:\where\your\rom\rom.zip
10) Reboot to recovery
11) Now install ROM as normal
12) Wipe cache and dalvik and reboot
Non Geek method
8) Install stock firmware for your respective device using fastboot (there are tutorials that have the batch file which installs the firmware automatically by simply clicking the batch file)
9) Install TWRP recovery
10 ) copy ROM zip file and flash
Everyone is now requested to use the guide, help me improve it ans stop flooding dev section with same question over and over again.
Alternate Method : Noob Friendly.
First of all backup your sd card (i.e data/media)
Flash Philz Touch 6.26.6 Recovery
Hope you have OTG cable and a pendrive.
Copy the rom which you want to install on pendrive. Attach pendrive through OTG.
(backup your current rom on usbdisk. For this goto Backup and Storage. Find option backup on storage/usbdisk :good: )
Now, select Wipe Data/Factory Reset. It will ask Wipe to install new rom,tap on it. Say Yes.
After that goto Mounts and Storage and format /data and /data/media (/sdcard). Say Yes.
Done.
Now flash your favorite custom rom.
Select the option install from sdcard. Then select usbdisk. Select your custom rom and install it

Quickest way I think is to take a USB Drive and attach it through an OTG-Cable, then use ES File Explorer to copy all things to it..
Connecting to a PC through USB takes more time due to some limitations there...
UST OTG works good.. :good:
You can use WiFi Direct maybe..

I don't think it failed. Once you add the partition, make sure you mark it active. Put it into the phone and reboot. Then recreate the mount scripts in link2sd and choose ext4. Reboot again and should be good. Partition master will say it's other when connected, that's just what it does...
