Hi all,
I have the possibility to buy a Hero, but I am asking myself if you can feel any performance differences between the Hero and a Samsung Ace. I am really not interested in benchmark results, but in user experiences. Can anyone answer this question?
Thanks in advance and best regards
Markmu

If you have the Ace you shouldn't get a Hero

Too my experience (having an OC'd Hero myself) the Ace (my sister and a friend both have one) is quite a lot faster.
I have hero, my advice: get the Ace. Hero has a beautiful screen with 16mil colors, you will loose that because Ace has crappy display. But the overall smoothness will be a + for Ace.
Cheers!

lol yea,
actually i meant that are you guys still happy with i9000? i heard about some gps bug or something, is that fixed? samsung will release gingerbread or want us to buy nexus s? now you guys are the owners, any regret or would you go with any other brand? things like that i want to hear from you guys.
I think with the latest JPU firmware, Galaxy S is the best Android phone feature wise.
I wouldn't change the SGS for xt720 or even a Nexus S at the moment. (720p recording, fast, etc.) Thanksfully some nice guys will port some parts of the kernel drivers which arent yet working on the SGS (read: closed source) and then build some AOSP Gingerbread 'n friends. CM7 would also be a piece of cake once kernel issues are sorted
I quite fancy trying out this rom as it looks pretty impressive on the S2 that i just watched on youtube.

there is no link because it is NOT available yet, if ever....
if ther is going to be a miui rom foe the note i would expect it to be based on ICS rather than gingerbread and woudl take a while after that to get some of the stuff ported such as the s-pen
When will we see ...Come on MİUİ for NOTE

I thought ICS has native support for S-Pen.

There won't be a MIUI ROM for the next few months until CM9 is stable.
Hi. I am a rom porter/dev (depending on the definition you use) who just got a galaxy tab 10.1. Considering that our hardware is similar, I think it'd be in the best interests for galaxy tab 10.1 owners along with other tegra2 tablet owners could work together to port sense. I hope this is not against forum rules posting here, but I posted this so we can all help each other out to get sense ported.
Thank you

I just don't understand why everyone loves sense. At best, it is a battery and performance vampire. Sure, it has some neat features, but... every time I end up with an HTC device, the first thing I do is install a non-sense rom.
To each his own, though. Good luck.

To answer your question its is a very hard a daunting task.
Best way to get your device as close as sense would be flashing a galaxy tab rom port by fguy(my current rom) its under tabletroms Acer forum. And use apw Widgets. With adw ex or SPB shell
Or you can use Thors galaxy tab port at tegra owners Acer rom's forum user pimpmaneaton has ported a HTC sense theme from boosted for that rom and use apw Widgets to complete your desired look!
HTC is battery hungry and a pain in the ass or impossible so no one wants to port it plus user base won't use it as much compared to asop or stock Acer based rom's.

I would be really interested in having a full Sense themed ROM. I have a HTC Desire Z at the moment and had an HTC Hero before that. I absolutely love HTC's implementation of Sense and how things work so well. Really don't mind the extra battery use because you really can't get that kind of integration and ease of use for nothing.
Good luck finding anyone who wants to reverse engineer the closed source sense framework and then try and get it to work on our hardware.
The only successful sense ports have in the past been HTC to HTC devices such as the desire ROM to nexus one, or sensation to desire etc. It's a bit different porting sense to a device which already runs sense. The nexus one was really just a desire running aosp Android.

The first snapdragon generation isn´t very capable for overclocking. More than 1,2 GHz aren´t healthy for this CPU and anyway isn´t stable.
Haha, maybe you should try to make FPS gets over 70 fps. Or try to create a laucher Meego like lol
Could someone post a nice apk editor pls!

I know they got it working, but im not able to do this sry... the only one who can write that for the x10 is FXP. But they are trying to fix the major problems first on ics. And camera will be some really hard stuff.

That BlackIce idea looks good
Also, a touch navigation would be great. I have it on my tablet and its so much easier haha
Touch navigation... would ask doom as he worked on that in his team. So xrec touch wont be a big problem i think
Well, will maybe start this weekend with BlackIce Port. Will need some testers when its ready because i use my phone for work and cant flash all day long

All you're asking is that one (or more) of us produce a small novel after you post a couple of questions. There's too much information requested.
Surely you have to start somewhere right? Read and understand how to root your Note by dr.ketan. It's a sticky on the dev forum

Upgraded from sgs2 int to gnote also. It's a bit slower than sgs2 but it has so much more pros against it's few cons. If you can get past it's size you'll love it.

Thnx a lot man...is it considerably slower than s2?? I thought it would be faster or atleast same as sgs2...as it has a better cpu....
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
The processor has to power through 2.5x the screen resolution of the S2, but my understanding is that ICS helps with any Note sluggishness.
I just returned my ATT Note and should have an International on the doorstep tomorrow. I'm pumped to toy with it.
From what I understand the Note's ICS leak is atrocious compared to the ones for the GS2. However even a buggy ICS leak is better than the antiquated Gingerbread. I couldn't get the Touchwiz ICS roms to work (home button not responsive, no lockscreen) but had great success with AOKP builds.

Great choice mate. Don't worry, the phone is very fast - especially with AOSP stock ROM, cause let's be straight here - TouchWiz is not the best...some people might like the looks or featurer ( i dont ) but it's very sluggish when compared to stock.
About the phone ? If you're looking for multimedia smartphone/tablet - you couldn't have chosen a better one. Enormous, and quality screen, fast CPU, lots of RAM and storage - and great battery life. You'll be definitely happy with your new phone.
And take a look at Imilka's ASOP ICS ROM - it really makes the Note amazing.
