*Homescreen widgets* (same as v7)
*Theme / wallpapers / ringtone (including theme manager)* (same as v7)

*Timescape and facebook add* (I didnt install this. I beleieve it slows down my phone and eats phone life, but i put it there so those of you who want it can enjoy it)
Install all the custom zips and it should be Identical to the Rom in my video.
Using an American x10a with At&t service. Came from Stock Gingerbread rom and stock SE Kernel. My original just update to version v8 made my phone unstable and Errored my WIFI so I personally had to Full Wipe
Have fun and fill me in if you find any cool apps or updates that worked for you! Please Thumbs Up and Like. Love Andriod!
Special thanks to the XSonX10 Team!! Champswimmer, Tof37, Barath_000 and anyone esle who worked hard to make this possible! You guys are Lengen...wait for it...DARY! Also thanks for featuring my video review on your v7 post. that was an awesome shocker.
peace out & I hope I helped as this was my first Rom Install Instructions ever

Ty for this guide, I have installed this ROM and all working great, but I have one bug in conversation.
When I delete all message from one sms conversation, the sms are deleted but the conversation are still here. And I can't delete them. Any ideas ?
I tried to delete them with Handcent SMS but it's the same.

Have a question with v8.2 if I install brightness status bar will my accounts and sync delete with reboot?

Thats odd. On mine i just go to Messaging and long hold on name > Delete Conversation. Works fine for me? Never saw that bug in any Rom. What Rom where you coming from? are you running a Locked or Unlocked bootloader? What steps did u take before you noticed this bug?

I installed the status bar update well after signing in and had no problems with sync or accounts.Let me know how it works out for you.
btw I use 3 accounts on my phone and all three had no errors. Only one account with picasa sync (but i have like 30+gb of photos on there so i dont think google wants me to upload there anymore lol)

Is anybody else experiencing some quick battery drain with v8.2?

I've tried long presse and this is not working. I from stock rom rooted bootloader unlocked with flashtool 0.6.5 and doomkernel v6 1113.
So I think i should re-install the ROM for be sure. Ty for the help anyway.

I would say it does burn a little faster when using it (photo and video taking especially) but i'm using the medium clocked kernel this time around so its expected to drain a little faster, nothing unusual though. I use "Easy Battery Saver" and while my device is not in use it last 2x longer. You could also try using "No frills CPU Control" and choosing a different governor (possibly underclocking while not in use) that might help but to me I'd most likely revert to a different/stock kernel. please let me know what worked out for you.

How fast does your battery drain overnight? Mine's OCd to 128-1190. Overnight I get around 20-40% drain. I've been using watchdog (Xperia Home and Android System are the top culprits), and going through all the apps to make sure there's no unnecessary syncing but so far my effort has yielded no results. Next step would be to go back to a previous kernel. Last resort is to reflash the whole ROM again. I'll let you know how my effort goes. Kinda busy cause it's finals week for me

Yeah i'd say maybe try it again. Does anything show up at all or does the screen stutter when u long pressed?
I'm using a x10a with a locked BL. I came from a stock Gingerbread rom rooted with flashtool and installed xrecovery 0.3
did you install the v7-update-1a?

How fast does your battery drain overnight? Challenge Accepted! (I watch way to much How i met your mother) I'll find out tonight - I'll let you know tomorrow.
Im going to charge 100% keep it unplugged from 1am-9/10am (tonight i will be using easy battery saver in intelligent mode). ill post screenshots .
I was using ThGO2 before the x10s rom. I noticed my battery would drain even when plugged in overnight. It would only charge correctly when it was off. I'd wake up in the morning to see this girly cute stuffed animal charge icon. Nothing but a new kernel helped that situation. Best luck to your phone and ur finals.

When I press a long time, "deleted conv" appears when I press on it, it shows "conv deleted" but the conversation is still there.
I come directly from the stock rom to version 8.2 of X10S.
But I think I found where it came from. Apparently the bug has started after restoring the backup of my messages and contacts with MyBackup Root.

Alright. Thanks. Really appreciate it. Hopefully yours will come out better. Which kernel are you using by the way?
I actually had the same experience with thgo2. I guess it had something to do with his kernel. It was really fast though.
Thanks bud. Finals week is hell. Lol. I just switched to doom kernel right now. Will report back soon.
PS - I heard how I met your mother's humor was getting kinda bland. my brother still loves it though. I'm more of a the big bang theory and modern family guy.

Finally Under 90%...As you can see when phone idle i have a really slow drain. I did make/receive a few phone calls and text since my last post but still did not connect online. I might do another test without using Easy Battery Saver tonight. Next time i use it heavily(wifi/3g/gaming 3hrs+) ill post my results on that as well.

thanks for reporting back bud. Was wondering what kernel are you on right now? And I was just about to ask you a favor of doing a battery check again without easy battery saver. You read my mind, lol. Thanks again buddy.
Reporting back after switching back to doom kernel v6. Battery is much better, down to 70% after 16 hours of light use. A huge improvement over the thgo kernel which would drain my batter in 13 hours with light usage.

Im using v06-1113 [medium OVERCLOCK VERSION] ( min/max: 128Mhz/1113Mhz )
I have a paid SetCPU but i dont use it on this rom. My x10 is very snappy on the start, scrolling/semi smoothly on apps/large webpages.
I did notice no matter what i can not get Onlive to stream correctly. Its always lags up which makes it unplayable. I have a hard time streaming others gameplay also. My Galaxy Mesmerize can stream all without a stutter. Its amazing playing Batman Dark Asylum with graphics comparable to xbox360/ps3. Not to mention playing Metro 2033 on my cell phone! amazing!...but not on my x10

Thank you for the great walk through. But I have an issue with the battery drain!
I'm using the same Kernel that you use! But the battery keeps on draining!
I have to admit that I'm a bit heavy user, but it doesn't make any sense to me to recharge my phone every 4 hours, does it?!!
And i have another question, in case I didn't want to install the corner bubbles but I want everything else is there any way to work around it??! I'm afraid to lose the 9 Home screens and 5x4 in case I excluded home.apk from the package.

if i do this? my files and settings in phone memory maybe gone?
please help. rooted but locked x10. i want to try the rom
try to flash the custom rom again.

the biggest problem i had with the XXJPM was the battery drain so i switched to XWJPF which i think is a recent release but i am not so sure. i did not have any issues with the GPS but the sound lag was there when the screen is on sleep mode.
i installed the fugumod kernel and set the minimum core speed to 333 so it does not fall below that. and never had any sound issues and sound was great too. u can also set the core to performance (OC 800 kernel version and the speed stays at 800 all the time) but that will drain your battery in no time. just my experience
i tried kyrillos and its an awesome ROM, the only con was that i could not change themes. i am yet to try the INDROID but as always i dont like a lot of apps in any custom ROM so i remove them. kyrillos only had a few but looks like indroid has a whole load of em
i'd like to see someone build a rom with the
original theme (but able to install themes)
basic apps
newer market
newer map app
deodexed
a2sd
lagfree
CWM recovery
5 lockscreen mod
and all the function that comes with building a custom rom
the rest can be achieved with a custom kernel i guess
this would be awesome!!!!
p.s. the dev's at xda are doing an awesome job keeping us happy, they deserve a lot more than thank you's and i believe we are here today coz the devs here are doing something extraodinary thant the devs at samsung.
you guys are the best of the best.
hmm, interesting, a found a lot of people have trouble about clicking sound when making conversation. OC is ok, but.. why do that, processor itself will work how it must, i mean, if overclock it will drain too much battery, if underclock it will be slow. i only expirienced delay problem when receiving incoming call, it's a little bit slow, but else is ok.
today i got official upgrade for my galaxy 3. it was jp9, 2.2, not 2.2.1. i have problems now with back button when in contacts and when unlocking the phone. i have to press back or menu key few times to turn on the screen, but home key works fine. strange thing.. why they put bugged version of froyo to official update over kies..

:O ok now thats so strange, i flashed XXJPM the first time around and configured everything background syncing hsdpa gps and so on... battery went down within 16 hours of use :O but well i shouldnt complain.. have in so much power in a 4" device and here i am complaining... stupid me.
I agree with Clarkkov..I too have been using XXJPM for about 2 months now & there are no problems..the battery life is great..I easily get 3 days usage on a full charge. The 2 small issues I saw are:
1. Camera app. sometimes crashes.
2. Back button does not work in Contacts app., you have to click Home button to close it.
Does XXJPN resolve these issues..?

The camera thing is a known issue (there is also a fixed camera.apk without that problem in the apps section). It has to do with gps/location as it tries to geotag the pictures you take.
I also can't confirm the back-buttons issue. I've been running XXJPM for a while and back button works just fine! Try a wipe (or at least clear cache) and see if that makes a difference...

Are you using Launcher Pro?
If yes kill the Contacts app ,and add again the shortcut in your launcher by long-pressing the icon.
Now when you open the app it must work normally.

SalsaSense Support Thread

Please post any issues or problems you have with the ROM here and me or someone else will try to help out. Any development related questions or ideas please post in original ROM thread.
I've been using this rom for four days, but the battery in one day became empty
i love the rom, but i need the battery for at least three days.
with the rom elelinux my battery takes three days to be empty.
sorry my bad english, im portuguese
I have the same problem with battery, i find salsasense is the most usable and graphically pleasing rom available, but the battery life for me (with overclock and full brightness) will only last from 7 in the morning till 4 in the afternoon. (9 hours)
Elelinux will go for around 30 hours, so I am back to a cyanogen based rom, i really miss sense :/
Also the browser would crash constantly, whenever trying to view a non-mobile webpage. (when i say crash, i mean it would close and return to the home screen without my say so, not that it would FC)
I have heard a froyo rom would be better, any recommendations? what exactly am I losing by downgrading to 2.2?

Ok! I will flash back to salsasense, get back to you tomorrow!
Thanks!
By the way, Is there some sort of battery calibrating procedure I should do after the restoration of salsasense? I have been using the app from the market for this as it always seemed to work wonders on my GT540.

My issues with this cool ROM are
1. WhatsApp notification often not working, possibly due to memory issue
2. Disk drive USB connection. Can't get my phone to mount the SD card to my home PC or office Mac.
I have no problem having to charge three times a day with this ROM as long as those two problems are solved
Thanks in advance, and you did a great job with this ROM. Kudos.

You can use any USB mount app from the market, all of them work like a charm...The built-in USB-Mount is a bit buggy.
Also, if anybody wants to have the zoom feature in their camera (notice it doesn't work in the Default Camera App) you can try the Market App "Camera360" it's a pretty cool app

Haven't noticed that issue before.. I will look into it.
I had enjoyed the many features that this GB Sense ROM brought and really like to use this ROM.
However, I also need Text To Speech to work in this ROM as I use audio feedback for my GPS tracking running apps as well as Google Navigation.
It does not look like a simple solution example, replacing a working TTS from another ROM.
Any one any clues? Will we ever have a working TTS for this ROM? Thanks.
i've flashed my g2 touch with salsasense. it works great and fast WITHOUT my simcard in. But as soon as i put my simcard in it, it boots in fine but when i write in my simcode it freezes, and the system forcecloses and it asks for pincode again. Any ideas why this is happening? I've tried 3.0 , 3.5 and 4.0 too but all of them makes this problem. Maybe my flashing method isnt good? (i do it from clockworkmod: wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and from mounts and storage i format: boot system data and cache, and then i select the zip from sd card) please help i really want to use this nice rom!

I think it was to do with a kernel issue, I can't remember what version of LV I included in this ROM. Try flashing a newer version of LV or one of erasmux's experimental LVx kernels. Found in post 2 of the Las Venturas thread.

2. Screen Brightness @ 35%
3. Data connection on only when i needed it
4. Widgets only on the first panel

Credits: The RCMix Team and Samuel especially for a great base and all the input! Adrynalyne for providing moral support and figuring out that apparently HTC uses a "calibration" file for Wifi now. He saved my phone from certain death. The boys from IRC and gTalk who tried it out for me and kindly alerted me to my inability to actually fix things.
This ROM is based off of:
2.11.605.5 - Barely...
1.26.605.6 HTC Rhyme Shipping RUU
RCMix 3D Runnymede (Bluetooth Drivers.)
What you will find in features:
Sense 3.5
Custom Notification Bar (Thanks Ihtfp for the extra toggles and guidance!)
All new BAMF Settings!
Reboot Options
HTC Hub
HTC Notes
HTC Watch
Lots of Pink
Changelogs:
v1.04
Adrynalyne's 3++ Kernel (as compiled by...hell I don't know, whoever compiled it last )
Completely redone BAMF Settings
Launcher Hotswap (Thanks to JonMS for the orginal mod)
Quick Settings Defaults and Rosie Remap (courtesy of Ihtfp)
Disable Rosie Unlock Animation (using the Romanbb method from the MyTouch 4G)
Added CM File Manager
Added ROM Stats. Please opt-in, it's to satisfy my own curiosity.
Too much more to list
v1.03
Fixed inverted FFC in Video Chat apps
Revamped Camera app
Removed boot lock for SD mount - It will now boot faster, but I highly recommend you let it settle before you unlock it or you're going to have problems.

Removed all the non-functional Pen settings/apps.
Weather now defaults to Fahrenheit.
Baked in Screenshots - Thanks Ihtfp69!
FM Radio working
Added Accurate battery - Framework Courtesy of Adrynalyne, images courtesy of Ihtf69
Workaround for Picasa - see notes.
VVM should now install from market.
Couple of other minor annoyances fixed
v0.5
Initial Release
Changelog for Themes/Mods:
I recommend you make changes ONLY to a base ROM, and that you encourage users to return all settings to stock before flashing mods. ie. Don't make a mod for the Rezound launcher, then flash it while running the Rezound launcher. Settings will get all messed up and features will probably not work.
There is now a fusionrun.apk (handles fusion tasks for the Rezound/Runnymede Launcher)
There is now a Rosierun.bak (The actual Launcher for Rezound/Runnymede)
Idlescreen_Base.apk has Smali changes.
Rosie.apk has Smali changes.
SystemUI.apk has Smali changes.
android.policy.jar
com.htc.fusion.fx.jar
services.jar
Instructions to install:
Download ROM
Copy to SD Card
Reboot to Recovery
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Did you Wipe Data?
Install ROM
Enjoy!
Some Important Notes and Tips:
If you use Picasa, make sure you upload a photo from the phone BEFORE you sign into your google account. This will prompt you to sign in and save the credentials for the future. If you don't follow these steps, it won't work!
If you feel the need to "borrow" my work, please don't without my consent. I literally have 3 weeks straight in getting data, BT and WiFi working. I will be more than happy to point anyone in the right direction though.
To change the quick launch widgets on the home screen, press anywhere on the home screen and drag it to the bottom left "edit" icon. From there you will be able to pick and choose which apps you want for your quick launch widgets.
Known Issues - if its listed here DO NOT ask about it in the thread:
The following issues are known about and they are being worked on. Before you post an issue with this rom, you must be on a clean install. If you have not performed a clean install, then your issue cannot be considered valid.
Some things that are just the nature of the beast:
SD Card Mounting
- This comes with the advent of the 3LM device encryption that was introduced (it was here before, but not implemented) in Sense 3.5. This is similar encryption as to what is used in Blackberries that has made them so popular among corporate clients. With Blackberry on the downturn, Android, and more specifically HTC, is trying to get up to the standards set by RIM in an apparent attempt to pick up their business. Unfortunately, it is tied into nearly every aspect of the framework and apps and nearly impossible to disable without causing major issues down the line. I have done everything reasonable (and one not so reasonable thing) to make it work for as many folks as possible. If you are having problems with it, I would recommend you try a different SD card. My 32GB Sandisk Class 4 has no problems. I've also had good luck with an 8GB Samsung class 2.
- If you experience the problem, unmounting and remounting the SD card will fix the issue.
Exchange policies
- This also goes along with the increased security measures HTC is trying to implement. The EAS policies on Sense 3.5 are about 100 times stricter than they ever were before. Can I bypass them? Probably. I'm not going to do that though. They are there for a reason. Your company feels that they are needed for their safety, and I'm not in any position to tell them otherwise. You always have trade-offs when you run a rooted device, and in this case, your ability to have fancy battery icons, may prevent you from getting HTML emails from work. In my opinion, if your phone is that mission critical to your life, you should have either left it alone, or get a second.
Superuser errors
- Ah the cost of progress. The SuperUser team is working hard to get an updated, more intuitive product to you. Unfortunately, it's making it a major pain in the arse to keep it up to date from version to version. If you get force closes, go into the app, and update the binaries. After a reboot, everything should be good.
NEW - Mail Accounts
- While trying to figure out some of the syncing problems with Mail and settings not being retained, I found another major oopsy. I don't know if it's the mail app, or the accounts themselves, but if you use the "Gmail", "Yahoo", "Hotmail", etc... Accounts, you will have a number of problems.
None of them will sync properly
If you set options for one, they will be transferred to all of them and vice versa
Gmail will always BCC you when you reply
Hotmail will never delete on the server
Basically, it's a huge cluster f.
I recommend you use the regular "Mail" account type and set your accounts up that way. Everything is smooth sailing that way. Unfortunately, to do this, you have to wipe data because in addition to the other issues, the accounts also won't delete. Yay HTC!
Burst Mode Force Closes Camera.
WiFi drops out
Mobile Hotspot won't connect - I'm still working on this.
Included VVM may or may not function
Using the alternate Lockscreen causes the notification bubbles on HTC shortcuts to look funny.
Using the alternate Launcher causes the notification bubbles on HTC shortcuts to look funny.
Switching Launchers will cause any non-HTC widgets to disappear from the home screen and be replaced with "Problem loading Gadget"
Switching Launchers *may* cause Sense Widgets to disappear from the personalize menu. You can either Clear data on HTC Sense (loses home screen settings) or access them from the "Browse All HTC Widgets".
Some hub skins cause weird graphical errors.
HTC mail app - email portrait body preview reverts back to 2 lines after changing it

Awesome!
I have been jumping through ROMs like crazy, trying to find one that I really like. Well, my search is over. I LOVE this ROM! SOAB is fast, stable, and very much to my liking.
My only problem I had, was (as posted in the description) the Visual Voicemail wasn't working. But after some hard searching, and trial and error on many APK files, I got it working, so now I'm completely happy with this ROM.
Kudos to the cooks.

How is this version different from the version 1.04 released on BAMF forums last year????
Has the OP made a special version of the old SOAB from last December??
Thanks for your clarification!!

Its the same version
I downloaded this from team bamf forums and was my daily for a week. Loved it. My only problem was that the swiftx keyboard (paid app from Amazon) kept looking for predictions to load. It's probably due to the same security measure mentioned in the OP. Since I depend on that keyboard, I had to change (now using miniBamf aosp). Good to see you guys back.

I use swiftkey X with no problem on SOAB 1.04
Try uninstalling and then re-running the learning algo's.
Thus far, my only complaint is that every day or so I have to reboot it to fix connectivity issues with the 4G. Otherwise its fantastic!
This rom is a thing of beauty man you guys really did an amazing job, runs smooth as hell and theme job is really nice!

CM9 ICS battery life saving's tips with Advanced CMSettings.apk

Hello to everyone.
I know that there are some similar threads in this forum, but no one is strictly related to the CM9 alpha IML74K.
I know as well that this could be part of the CM9 user discussion thread, but I'd like to share the best settings to get a good battery life with our S2 in a clean thread.
So, please:
no trolls, no dumb questions.
Just share your own experience (with a battery screenshot should be better).
Thanks a lot.
Here we go:
Developer options:
Debug usb off
Allow mock locations off
Force GPU rendering off
Windows animation scale off
Transition animation scale off
Don't keep activities on
Background process limit on
Kill app back button on
Display:
Automatic brightness off (I'm using Brightness Level widget)
Black wallpaper (search for solid black.png from wikipedia)
Sleep after 1 minute of inactivity.
Pulse notification light off.
Trebuchet options:
Scroll wallpaper off
Sync settings:
Google account
Sync calendar on
Sync Contacts on
Sync Gmail on
Whattsapp account:
Sync Contacts on
Sound Settings:
Touch sounds off
Screen lock sounds off
Vibrate on touch off
Location services:
Google's location service on
Location & Google search on
(Gps satellites on only when using Sygic or Maps)
Date and time:
Automatic date & time off
Automatic time zone off
CyanogenMod Settings app v1.0:
Interface Settings/Expanded view widget
Toggle 2G/3G checked
Toggle Mobile data checked
For a quick switch to 2G mode and save more battery.
Testing "twek levels and filtering" in automatic backlight settings.
With Titanium Backup:
Frozen all live wallpapers, tts services and uninstalled Gtalk and mail.
P.S. Be careful, you need debug usb on when using Titanium Backup
Data on all the day. I turn it off when I go to bed.
Wireless on when I'm home and need to use dropbox or download a big file from my Gmail account.
I'm using CM9 01062012 (I know, there's a new one, but I've reached a very stable daily rom, no FC, no random reboots, fast and smooth).
Modem XXKL1
Now my battery lasts two days.
Well, when my girlfriend tells me stories about her life, it lasts one day and a half.
Important:
I've uninstalled Facebook app which was causing a battery drain. I'm using the mobile web page instead and I've to tell that it is faster.
Other apps installed:
Twitter, Maps, Sygic, Whattsapp, Beatiful widgets (with manual weather update), Xda premium, ...
2012-01-14 Added CyanogenMod Settings Apk v1.0 (from SGS forums)
How to install:
Download it to your internal SD card
Enter into Recovery mode;
Wipe cache;
Advanced settings, wipe dalvik cache;
Flash zip from Sdcard,
Choose CMSettings.zip and flash it.
Reboot system
2011-01-18 Update:
I've been trying few modems and I've found the best one for me: (Vodafone Spain, data on almost all the time, good signal quality, great battery life)
NEKD5 Modem Zip package.
Flash from recovery. Follow cmsettings instructions.
Nice post. Going to try some your suggestions.
I'm sure loads of other xdaers are going find this useful too.
So many posts in the cm9 discussion thread about battery life and how to achieve optimum performance good to have a thread about it.
Big props

Apparently its a bug. It makes the OS look like its working over time but actually it won't be. Its somewhere in the cm discussion thread if you want to see the posts about it. As far as aware its not fixed yet with any of the builds.

The same here. But I've noticed that using Fastreboot app, it seems to kill/restart stuck apps/processes.
Anyway, rebooting the system before the night helps a lot.
Unless you're not a modern vampire...
Agree with others - excellent thread. There seem to be so many battery challenges with CM9 that a separate thread will lessen clutter in the discussion thread.
I've tried a number of your settings and have also flashed the KL1 modem. I had high hopes for KP4 at first, but it seems to have slipped back into old habits!
Has anyone looked into the FB-app? Why its causing battery problems?

The app and the process are still running after you close them.
I have tried to logout, but it's still there. I think the process keeps going for notifications and photo uploading.
I've tried to kill it, but it comes back after few seconds.
Finally I gave up and used the mobile web page.

But that isn't related to CM9, i had the same issues on gingerbread.
Yes, sir.
I knew it.
But it seems to me that Facebook app is eating more battery on ICS.
Checked my battery info and found out FB app percentage was 15% in 6 hours and I've used it just to read few messages. Then I've logged out.
I could be wrong, but I think it needs an update to control battery drain.
Indeed. I'll bet there are a host of apps that will need subtle tweaks and optimisations for ICS. Another reason not to expect too much from CM9 in terms of performance as yet...although access to kernal sources is obviously the big one!
CM settings
Trying right now CyanogenMod Settings app.
Flashable zip from recovery. The apk goes to /system.
It comes from GTi9000 forum and as I can see, it works perfectly on my S2.
It doesn't have so many options, but few are very important.
Let's have a look...
I'd be very interested on your feedback on this app.
On a different subject, I seem to have my battery back behaving reasonably well again with KP1 modem. In my tons of testing it seems like Nova Launcher - as much as I like it - is a significant contributor to my battery drain issues.
This could be because I have installed a bunch more stuff on Nova than I have with Trebuchet, so my next tactic is to gradually reintroduce some of my favourite widgets to Trebuchet to see if one of them suddenly starts killing my battery.
On the down side it may mean that I can't use one of my widgets for a while but on the plus side it may eliminate Nova as a battery drain meaning that I can go back to using it.
Have you tried FBM for facebook?
Basically the same look as the facebook app. But supposedly a lot cleaner!

As I said before, don't expect a very useful app. It's the 1.0 version, and hopefully it will be a great app. But for now I've tried only some settings in the automatic backlight and modified the notification power widget.
At the moment, that's all we have. Anyway, give it a try, if you'd like.
Screenshots added in the first post.
Anyone able to disable button's backlight? Its still on even though i set it to "0" in the custom settings..
Another thing,is it possible to the haptic feedback tweaks like in cm7 settings?
Back from some modem testings, I'd like to say that NEKD5 has surprised me.
Never loosing data at all, best battery life and no problem with sms and sync.
Here you've got it.

I flashed 378 a few hours ago and noticed that the volume is a bit lower, but the sound quality is better. That's alright with me, imo. Also, the mobile data icon is a lot larger and Sony moved it to the left. It's annoying for me, but I'll get used to it anyway. Device runs a lot cooler too.

So far I am glad I did it. It gives a nice fresh look. Perhaps a tad smoother, but that might just be me wanting it to be better. Too early to tell about battery, but at least it hasn't been worse. Am not a heavy game or social media user.
The change to the notification screen is great for the most part. I love that the first five tiles/toggle buttons appear right away on the first down swipe. I can rearrange so that my most often used ones show up quickly.
One annoying change however is, the Mobile data toggle button now takes two touches to perform the same thing previously. The first touch now brings up an abbreviated data usage screen, and one needs to press the on/off switch in addition. Overall, if I remember correctly, the touch count could be the same, because now that button can appear on the first down swipe. Still it is annoying. It feels like one hand gives, and the other takes away
Crossing my fingers that all continues to go well...

I'm going back to MM until we get the new xposed, otherwise the volume is still low, but i love nougat, super smooth and lag free.

Yeah but it exists some mod when the phone is rooted so it's pretty easy to fix. Anyway, I let you post a little review after your own test ! I will put it in the first post
Thanks !!
Unfortunately when I try to create ftf file in flashtool basing on firmware downloaded by XperiFirm i get quite ambiguous error (see attachment) and I don't really know what to do about it. I already tried to download this firmware twice. Is it only me? Few days ago I created .376 ftf without an issue.
Wondering what's new on this one...
Wow, and for my country the latest version is still stuck on MM 305, didn't even get 5.11, and now there's already a second N version released. Curses...
The increment in version number is unusually small, I wonder what has changed and how critical the bug is. Will it replace 376?
downloaded and flashed, just rebooted to setup interface.
Now i just have to look up how to root it, and install twrp since i wiped the whole phone (came from xpower 5.0)
Edit: had some problems with the keyboard when entering my google account, also had to skip the fingerprint setup since it didn't register my fingerprints.
Used the customized NOBA and i have a european E5823 so the fingerprint reader should work.
2nd Edit: fingerprint reader worked when i did the setup thru the settings menu

I will upload one shortly. For reference, you are probably on an old version of FlashTool. For some reason the website doesn't always have the most up to date version, and you have to patch it by downloading and replacing the updated x10flasher.jar file separately.

I will upload one shortly. For reference, you are probably on an old version of FlashTool. For some reason the website doesn't always have the most up to date version, and you have to patch it by downloading and replacing the updated x10flasher.jar file separately.

Noob question
Hi guys - noob question. Can I install an update not for my country or carrier on a non-rooted device? I am having severe Bluetooth issues with 376 and want to try 378 to see if it fixes it. However 378 is only available in Northern Europe at present and I'm on O2 UK.
Got the dreaded 'fingerprint hardware not available' back. Can that be fixed without root?
