Chose "Install Recovery Image" in Acer Recovery Installer... Reboot to recovery power+volume down... You should be in Clockwork Mod... go to Backup & Restore then choose Backup...
Hope this helps!
Like stated above. You have to flash ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM Recovery) in order to do a Nandroid backup. All that is selecting "Backup" in the CWM menu and letting the tablet do it's own thing.
Good luck!
When I try to boot into recovery it says "recovery verified failed" any suggestions?
You don't need Acer recovery, you need CWM(clockwork mod recovery) or you don't have the options you need. Make sure you have root, us acer recovery installer to install CWM then get your nandroid backup.
Are you rooted?
Not sure but I believe you need to have root to install cwm. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Did the Acer Recovery Installer ask for root rights when you ran it?
If it did, try going into Superuser, delete the entry for Acer Recovery Installer, then try again from the top... making sure to grant Acer Recovery root access privileges.

I have this same exact scenario, how would I unlock the bootloader? Acer Recovery says I have Bootloader Version: 0.03.12-ICS if that helps.

How can I do a nand backup on the MT4G? I want to have a backup before doing anything with it. I just got it rooted and I have Clockwork installed.
are you perma rooted? get rom manager from market, then open it and you will see the flash recovery option. do it and then reboot open it again and go the reboot into recovery option. that will let you know if it took. then go down to backup and restore. then chose backup.

It is perm root, I dl Clockwork and bought the premium when I had the Vibrant. I already click Flash ClockworkMod Recovery but when I go Reboot into Recovery it brings me to the system's recovery.
Never mind for some reason I reclicked Flash ClockworkMod Recovery and went to Reboot into Recovery I was bought into the CLockworkMod Recovery. Thanks.
So as many of you are now finding out is that clockwork is borked and so is root with the new update. The root method on cyanogenmod wont work. The rootboot.img breaks wifi and you still cannot get into clockwork recovery ... well at least I can't. Anyone else seeing this and possibly have a solution?

ya the OTA breaks root and CWM,,,thats why in roms the ability to OTA is removed
Reflash koush's clockwork recovery via fastboot.
After the successful flash, you can get into CWM recovery by selecting Recovery while still in fastboot.
Once in CWM, go to mount options menu and mount /system.
Then use adb shell to navigate to /system/bin.
Once in /system/bin type chmod 6775 su
Root functionality should now be restored when you're in normal boot mode.
Getting permanent CWM recovery back is proving more problematic for me. Once you reboot the phone after that first install, selecting Recovery gives you the Android and "!" screen. Battery pull required.
You can however, get back into CWM recovery by either fastboot flashing the image again as above, or from the ROM Manager app where you flash the recovery and then select boot into recovery.
Pain in the butt, but not totally lost.
Just a minor issue that comes from running custom recoveries and roms. Koush already is working on a flashable update that will work with CWR. Just gotta be patient. Chances are that if you have been keeping up with the tweaks and new apk's in the dev forum, this update won't really mean that much anyway. I am a sucker for wanting the latest version number in my "about phone" though

LOL, don't you hate when that happens.
Glad it worked out for ya in the end!
Im sorry if this has been brought up before, but i couldnt find a thread with the same problem.. Whenever I try to do a backup with ClockWorkMod(before you ask yes i have flashed it) Anyway i click on the backup option, my phone then resets and boots into recovery, at which point it says "install default apk-files. please wait" and "install default apk-files. finished" and just stays there, with the normal recovery options, reboot, apply update, wipe data etc etc.. My phone is a rooted Galaxy S running stock Froyo.
Thanks in advance,
-b0s-
when you are in recovery what is the first thing it says ?? does is say android recovery system <3e> or does it have somethin like ClockWork Mod x.x.x.x (x being numbers)
It says "Android system recovery (3e)".
Had this same issue at one point, but this resolved it for me:

Do yourself a favor and download Root Explorer from the Market so that you can apply the the file supplied in the zip.
the link to that thread is broken.
Not sure what happened but try this one:

thanks for that ill give it a try and let you know how it goes.
Nope still not working, thanks for the suggestion anyway
you need 2e to flash unsigned zips, your still on stock recovery.
quickest easiest way just flash speedmod or voodoo kernel, gives the phone extra performance too.
or if you just want recovery flash CF-ROOT.

Can you please provide the steps of what you've done? You said that this didnt work for you but did you follow the instructions? Did you reboot your phone into android recovery and choose the option for installing the update.zip? Are you using Rom Manager?
You're most likely trying to do a backup using rommanager. Same thing happens to me. When on the 3e screen just reboot and then straight away enter recovery using the 3 button method. It then enters 2e recovery and begins to backup automatically. Or just start the backup with the 3 button method instead.

is there any simple way to install cwm recovery for gt i9003 ...
Hello, I tring to get root on my Nexus 7.
I install the clockwork recovery and then install the JB-SuperSU, but every time I reboot, I lose the recovery.
How could I keep the recovery?
Thanks and best regards.
Which version of CWM are you using? I believe 6.0.1.0 comes with a script that tweaks certain files to make it easier to get back in to recovery. It should prompt you the first time you select "reboot system now".
Also, are you trying to get into recovery from the boot screen (i.e. power + volume buttons) or through an app's rebooter? I've never had luck doing it the first way, but getting in through the reboot function on Titanium Backup or ROM Toolbox should work.

Can you boot into stock N7 recovery?
If so, find a superuser.zip (or something similar to this name) compatible with the N7, then put into the root of the N7, Install zip from SD. <------------------------- YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE.
Have you unlocked your boot loader?
Thanks,
I am using recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.0-grouper.img, I think that it is a problem of Hosts Editor app. It says that I have no read/write permission.
I access from "adb shell" and I can execute "su" command. How can I check if I have full root access on the device?
Thanks and best regards.
Hey all, trying to flash CM10.2 on my G2 and I'm not able to boot into a custom recovery. Here's how I did everything.
Rooted - all was successful as far as I can tell. Was able to install Titanium backup and backup files and allow root.
I downloaded ROM Manager and installed CWM. When I went to boot into recovery, i get the error with the Android a red triangle exclamation point above him. So I tried to switch to TWRP through Rom manager, no luck. I tried to 'flash' TWRP through the command prompt and download of the recovery file, no luck.
I saw somewhere to download SuperSU, so I did that and tried again, and same issues. When I 'cleaned' SuperSU, uninstalled and reinstalled it but this time chose 'use custom recovery' - it tied to reboot into recovery, saw a standing up right android with a spinning icon, but then went to the same error.
Obviously I'm missing something somewhere. Can't figure out what.
Thanks for any help!
Don't use rom manager. Either use adb and push the recovery or use the app flashify to install the recovery. There are many threads ids the development sections on how to install recoveries

Thanks, Is there a way to undo what I've done from rom manager? Because I used adb to push the recovery and still had the same issue, and using flashify to flash the image doesn't seem to work. Booting into recovery just gets me to stock recovery asking 'do you want to factory wipe your device'
Edit: When I boot to recovery from within flashify, it gives a 'boot certification error' upon booting

Are you using a recovery that has been Loki'd. The G2 needs this to by pass the bootloader. By that error it does not seem you used the correct recovery file.

I used the one from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670 - 2.6.3.3 and just flashed it with flashify most recently. But I was having the same issue when I installed it via adb and 'option 1' as shown there.
Yeah, when flashing that recovery image using option 1, I still get "secure booting error - boot certification verify" after I reboot into recovery
Huh, I got it.

Someone else was having the same issue as me. The newest recovery gave him that same error. Flashed 2.6.3.2 and it worked fine. (So far)
Glad to hear. Good Luck.
