youtube question - Acer Iconia A500

Is there a way I can get YouTube to run while I'm doing something else because sometimes I like to play songs and browse the net but once I leave the YouTube app the video stops playing is there a way to keep my vids going while doing something else?

Not that I know of but u can use an app called overskreen. Idk if you've seen it but its a floating browser and u can browse YouTube

HTC flash lite player problems.

I just wanted to know if anyone else on the forums has been having problems playing embedded YouTube videos. When I click on the video it launches the HTC player, the video fully loads but the video stops a few seconds in and restart, this goes on. Occasionally a video will actually play all the way through.
This video I had problems with:

I have no problems playing videos on the YouTube app, is there any way to just make these videos play using the app instead?

Searching YouTube on android is a bummer

is it me or it is it that youtube on android doesn't find the same videos as it does on my computer. For example like when you search for a certain music video on YouTube on the computer the official music videos would come up there but on android you can't find those videos..
That's happens for a reason. They do that so you buy the song. Because you have data everywhere, you can listen to free music every where. But the android app doesn't let you.
I think (remember I said think) that the m.youtube.com shows them, but I doubt it.
This message is brought to you by my Samsung Vibrant, using the XDA app.
I read somewhere that music video aren't mobile view compatible. So since then I have never found a music video, a real one that is.
Either east people are going to download them

the video has to be mobile compatible. it doesnt mattter if its a music vid or some guy farting on a girls face, if its not mobile compatible it wont even show up.
Why not just press the search button, rather than go to the you tube app?

If YT connection errors keep occuring the try an offline downloader.
I use the one from tubex.me Downloads flv video faster than a Flash player would.
If using a WiFi connection, switch to 3G connection and it'll work. If you are using 3G connection and it comes up, just keep retaping and it'll work. If all else fails, go to m.youtube.com and search for the video. IF it's able to be played on mobile you will be able to tap on the video and play it. Before playing it, the UI will prompt you to choose an application to open. Rather than choosing youtube, choos HTC flash player. It'll work like a charm

stock browser downloads and video playback

Not sure if it's just me or not but I'm having a lot of issues with downloading files over the air using the stock browser. Files whether they be apk's,zip, rar or mp3 rarely download successfully. I always have to use firefox browser for the downloads to complete. is anyone else having this issue? I have already reverted back to stock kernel to see if that may have been the issue. Also another problem that I been having is a lot of my videos (.mp4) that use to play just fine in the native video player don't play back anymore. I just get a black screen of it trying to load and have to use moboplayer which is fine since moboplayer works great but definitely annoying.

Try accessing the videos using a file-explorer rather than using Gallery, so they start that way. Gallery can be a bit picky every now and then, especially if you move your files around a bit.
I have the same problem, it seems to me that direct links to file work ok (no matter what the file type is), but links with redirects don't work (it downloads the redirecting page not the file).
