Recently I found this app called "Network Signal Speed Booster". According to this app, it boosts your network signal by connecting to the best available cell site tower around you!
I have heard many people complain about low network signal and this may help. I tried it by myself on the g3 and it boosted one bar! I really havent tested this totally by going out somewhere else.
So it would be great if someone else tries whether this works too.

Normally it's like this (tested like this always until this latest test above)
is this normal or is this likely related to the 3G issues on the nexus?

Am on Three i'll finish work at 17.00. When i get home i'll test it and let you know. Are you using Speed test app from market, if not the download it and post result here in Kbs.
Down- and uplink speeds are generally different. The Nexus One supports HSDPA 7.2Mbps and HSUPA 2Mbps. Other limits are imposed by your carrier's equipment. Your first test is about half as much, which seems reasonable for a real-life test where you share the spectrum with other users.
Yeah, I'm happy with the first result, but it's the first time I've got a decent result, all my previous attemts (over the last couple of weeks) have been similar to the second one.
Yep, I'm using the app from the market.

I get 580+ kbps on 3G. Seems fine to me :/ There is a tweak on the Android Development forum on boosting 3G speed, think you need a rooted phone though but if yours is rooted, read and try it out.
See my Sig.

i always get min. over 80-90MBIT download and 40-50MBIT UPLOAD with a1/austria in linz/vienna/st. pölten
I don't have need for 4G, so with 3G I usually get only:
Down: 800-2000 kB/s
Up: 100-200 kB/s
Ping: 80-200ms
(inside my house)
Here is my speed, even I don't have an 4G subscription. I don't know why and how, today I received 4G signal for a few minutes and I did this speedtest.

What's your signal strength like? If the G5 is like any other phone a low signal can really eat through the battery because the radio transmitter has to constantly transmit at full power to hit the tower. Try using Wi-Fi if you aren't already doing so and see if that helps.
Hi guys,
I'm using the Google Play Edition ROM for some weeks now and noticed something strange.
I have one of the best ISP's in my country (Belgium) which has almost everywhere 3G and on the most places even 4G. In the past I had very good 4G signal almost everywhere with my HTC One but with the Galaxy it's always stuck to 'E' and very occationally I get 'H' or 'H+'. But let's say for the most part, like 90% of the time, I only manage to receive 'E'...
The specific ROM:

}
As I'm not allowed to post in the development thread itself, I thought I could ask it here...
I already tried setting different connection types:
but none seem to work like it should. Or they work but I keep being stuck in 'E' mode...
EDIT:
I also tried using the 2 different kernels, but no change.
Another thing I noticed, when I'm on the phone with somebody I can hear them clearly but they all say my connection get's disrupted and they can't hear me (or not clearly) but the connection stays present.
Thanks!
