Thanks for the help. But I don't know what exactly you said. Can you please upload All bootloader files in a zip. My model is Huawei Ideos X5 U8800. Please help. I am really stuck and scared. for ROM version.. That is where I got stuck I was installing CM7 and by mistake I formatted everything. So do idea which ROM to write here. And I do not know the folder structure so please upload entire thing in zip or do guide me . thanks in advance

there are U8800, U8800H, U8800-51, U8800 Pro/+, and may be more..
and there are android 2.2 and 2.3 stock roms..
every combination of them has a different set of bootloader files, so giving u a wrong set of files will not help at all..
u got to get this info first before someone can help u..
maybe at least u can tell where u got the phone, any info printed on the box, etc..

u have probably deleted ur boot.img from phone's custom folder
there is only one way out
download the file i have provided in the link
extract the rar file using winrar
copy the "dload" folder to ur sdcard (dont put it in any other folder, just paste it in the sdcard)
pull out the battery and put it back
and then while holding volume + key switch on the mobile until it shows update on the screen
note: u need to have other mobile or sdcard reader to put dload folder in ur sdcard.... u cant access r sdcard while being in bluescreen of ur u8800
enjoy

Thanks All, finally I am able to solve it. Here is what I did incase in future some1 has same issues.
when I formatted my mobile last time (a year ago), (by mistake) I took backup of stock rom images.
amss.mbn
boot.img
EMMCBOOT.MBN
recovery.img
I created a folder called Image and copied all 4 in that folder. Now my Blue screen is converted into Pink one. on my other SD card i put 2.2.1 stock in "dload" folder.
I installed foryo normally by pressing power button and volume keys
I went in pink mode again to copy CWM image.
I went to CWM and installed CM7 (geno) I don't know I tried 10 times to install ezet. It is not at all working with me. anyway But m very happy to be back to CM7 after using ICS MIUI (very much ram hungry).
Thanks everyone for helping me out.

It cant mount sd card, i cant format sd card and now i have blue screen error. By mistake i deleted everything I made a file image and put amss.mbn
boot.img
EMMCBOOT.MBN
recovery.img

I have similar issue but can not see the phones storage at all in pink or blue screen, the computer is asking me install drivers for the 'device' when i connect it via usb. I copied dload (official gingerbread) to the external sd card and vol -+ the phone and and the update started to take effect but stopped halfway through 2/2 install. There must be a way to boot/ bring the phone back to life using the external sd card can anyone help me with this?

minor issue as i understand. Try to install 2.2.1 (Foryo).
Are you getting blue screen as of now? or just in boot loop?

[Q] DX Stuck on M/Clockworkmod Recovery after theme install.

Hi guys. I am having a bit of an issue here.
I just got my DX a couple days ago. I have a buddy that has been into modding with his D1 for a while, and he recently got a Fascinate. He convinced me to try doing some stuff with my phone...
I rooted my phone successfully. I then wanted to install the DX Invertnito theme. It said I needed to Deadex my phone. I got the xultimate 2.2.2 deodex pack and successfully deodexed my phone. I then downloaded the zip file for the Invertnito theme. I put the zip file on my phones sd card as stated in the instructions. I then downloaded Koush's DX Bootstrapper from the market and Clockwork Rom manager. Installing the theme automatically through the rom manager didnt work, but the phone did boot normally nonetheless. I then decided to go directly through the Bootstrapper app [clicked the recovery mode right on the menu out of two options]. The phone instantly shut down, then booted into the clockworkmod recovery menu. I followed the instructions given to install the Invertnito from the .zip file on the zd card. I clicked install on that file. Everything seemed to work fine to this point. Installation successful.
Unfortunately, now the phone will not boot at all.... It loads the Motorola M logo and stays there. I've tried waiting for 30 min on the logo and it just doesn't move. If I remove/replace the battery, the phone will then load the clockworkmod recovery menu again just like it did after it shutdown from running the first time. I've tried clearing cache, restarting the phone, replacing the battery 20 times. Always stuck on boot M screen. Sometimes it will go the the Motorola bootloader screen, but when i click reboot system, it just gets stuck on the M logo.
Any help would be appreciated here. I'm hoping I haven't bricked my phone somehow. I didn't expect this as I can't find anyone else who installed this same theme have the same problem. Is there something I can do to get it back to normal? Is it possible to somehow get my OS back to clean stock and go from there?
Thanks
Did you do a nandroid backup before loading the theme?
Unfortunately, no. I just read of someone having a similar issue though. Said he used RSD Lite 4.8 and an SBF and he was able to get back into his phone. Not sure how to dgo about any of that though.

hold volume down and camera button while you press power button it will then say ready to program.
if you did the OTA 2.2 DO NOT USE THE 2.1 SBF!!!!
if your on the leaked 2.2 and you try the 2.2 sbf but get errors due the 2.1, if you get a boot loop after that you need to go into the stock recovery and factory reset, hold home button and

Dont worry mate, your not doomed at all....the buzz kernel has put your phone in a bootloop, you need to flash the rom to fix it, you can flash a ruu (stock rom) or a custom rom which really is the best thing to do...so much faster thank stock...if you like sense then flash leedroids rom...if you like pure android then flash cyanogen...either way you need to put the rom onto your sd card then wipe everything using clockwork recovery...then flash the rom and your phone will be fixed.. If you then want to flash the kernel you should use the kernel utility update software found in the developers forums..
Really dont panic, let us know what rom you wish to flash and I or someone else will help you.

rixsta is right, its a boot loop, and what youve done is flashed the kernal onto your phone without doing a full wipe on the phone...
May i ask have you also install CM yet ?

Yes true....but maybe using the kernel utility he can re flash the kernel and push the modules using this software....it sometimes works and would save him flashing a new rom and losing his stock one....I would try this first for sure..
Kernel Update Utility
If you go there, youll be able to flash a kernal easily like rixsta said.
If you still run aground, give the forum a buzz and we can see what else we can do...
Download the kernel utility here ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852357&highlight=kernel+utility
Get into fastboot as I said earlier and plug in your usb cable...aahhh the drivers may not install...bet he's not used android-sdk....with a bit of luck he's running windows 7 and they will install anyway..lets say they do..
Follow the utility instructions and flash the kernel...It may fix your bootloop...if not then you are going to have to mount your sd card using recovery and flash a new rom...

snap ......Im sure he needs the android 1.0 driver to use fastboot???....not used android-sdk using the cmd command for a while so I cant quite remember...(yes I know he wont need android-sdk but Im pretty sure the fastboot driver is in with it...
This is why I always say its so important to do a backup using recovery before you do anything !!

Just curious, i have flashed 7 different devices and never seen this b4..

but it works though, thanks for that..
M..
On reflection, I'm a little concerned about the fact that the nandroid backup and restore plays with emmcboot.mbn and amss.bin. My assumption has been that emmcboot is the SBL and amss.bin is the radio firmware but I really don't know for sure and don't really want to find out the hard way the effect of these files being damaged or removed.
works
It seems to work, great work guys!
I bought the phone from the Finnish operator Saunalahti and renaming the recovery-en.zip to update.zip and flashing that from the stock recovery menu didn't work. Saunalahti uses a modified rom from the original huawei one.
So I followed stockwell's instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044585) and I used the recovery.img from genokolar's recovery-en.zip.
I tested it so that I created a backup, rebooted and changed the wallpaper, then restored from the earlier backup. The original wallpaper was back, so it seems to work.
Now I can finally start modding stuff and if (when) I mess up something so that I can't boot, I can use the backup
I just noticed that if there isn't enough free space on the sdcard it reports "backup successful".. Not a big bug, but just make sure after backing up that your sdcard free space is not 0. If it is, then everything wasn't backup up.
what is the difference between this and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044585
which should i choose and why?
what i noticed is that the backup here was neat, my old backup filled the card with files, if i am not wrong

I haven't tried the other one, but it says:
"I suggest people start using genokolar's version instead, available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1067490"
This one seems to work what I've tested.
Edit: This one == the on in this thread. The link in stockwell's post doesn't work, but I think he's referring to this thread.
Anyone managed to mount /system and all other partitions?
The only thing I managed to mount is the USB Mass storage..
I use ubuntu so it automatically detects EXT3.. then why doesn't it recognize them when I select mount from recovery??
EDIT: Never mind.. I realized that I can still boot into the purple screen, so if I need to mount them, I'll use that.
THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THIS!! I will try to install a custom theme now
You are awesome sir!
Hi!
I did this:
1) Extract the recovery.img from the zip file.
2) Turn on your phone while holding VOL+ and VOL- (should come up with pink/purple screen)
3) Connect to computer.
4) Go to My Computer and Browse your phone to find the folder with recovery.img in.
5) Replace the recovery.img with the one you extracted from the zip file.
I pull out the battery and power on the phone!
Nothing happens!
Any clues how to use this great tool?
Brgds,
S.
when the phone is off you press vol+ and power only to see recovery
Nothing happens as in the phone does not switch on?
You need to press Vol UP + POWER to boot in this recovery tool
Thanks guys!
Why this doesnt work for me i cnnot acess the clockworkmod,?
Switch off the phone. Hold Vol+ and Power button to power on, hold both buttons until you see the recovery.
Thanks it worked i tought you just need to press both buttons and wait for recovery.
This helped someone shold wrote this in the first post so people would know how to acess clockworkmod
Recovery 3.2.0.0 has been released on goapk. But it is in Chinese. I assume it would be easy to do a English translation. If it is OK with genokolar, and if someone would provide me with some direction on how to do it, I might be interested in doing a translation for it.
I talked to him some days ago and he is going to update the English recovery here.

Froyo to Gingerbread, update failed

Hi, i tried to update from android 2.2.2 to 2.3.5 but i got a problem... i put the "dload" folder into my 16GB sdcard and press both volym keys while pressing the power button. Its unpacking and everything but when it changes to "installing" i get a message that the "update failed".
How do i fix this?
Things i have tried: Formatted sdcard and put "dload" folder into it
Downloaded an other gingerbread update
Factory reset and then tried update
Start the update from the internal sdcard
Start the update without the battery inserted and USB connected
Please help me!
Dload on root of your sd card. After that you must press both Vol + and - with Power key to boot on Pink Screen.

Had the same issue
from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2 ok but then nothing !!
Problem was my Motherboard of the phone
could go from 2.2.1 up to 2.2.2 and that was it
It even erased my IMEI number
Luckily it was under warranty
So they replaced my motherboard and now all is ok again

I had the same problem. So, I will point 2 things:
1. It may be a slow card. Try to add the dload folder in the internal card.
2. In case you use the B512, you need to put the UPDATE.APP and UPDATE_G.APP in the dload folder at the same time.

Okay, im using android 4.0.3 atm so if anyone else got the same problem as me, just use CWM to install a custom 2.3.7 rom or do like me: stock 2.2.2 -> custom 2.3.7 rom -> custom 4.0.3 rom ^^

A Custom ROM will always work !!
But you will and cannot upgrade with the Original Releases by HUAWEI
( please check if you still have your IMEI )
I had the same trouble as you did
And if you still have warranty then send it back !!
PS :
I tried fast MicroSD cards and slow 2GB 4GB 8GB and 16GB no luck at all
Internal memory same issues
With Battery or without still no luck
If original update fails while using sdcard try to copy dload folder into internal disk then unmount the sdcard and try to update again.
If your imei isnt nulled %99 it should update.
Btw please consider backing your imei before doing any update with 5iromtoolbox.

There is a log file in dload. What does it say?
The error message that I am getting is:
dload_sd_chk_ram_data failed!
Anyone know what that means?

In order to stop random reboots you must wipe battery stats then reinstall the zip

[Q]Pink screen when downgrading from Aurora

I'm trying to downgrade from dzo's Aurora back to Gingerbread. I have copied over to the micro sd the dload file of 2.2.1, and when I connect the phone in order for it to install I get a pink screen. I tried to go directly to Gingerbread, but I also get a pink screen.
Can anyone help me with the downgrade?
EDIT: Now I switched sd cards and I don't get pink screen but it says "update failed" when Unpacking...

I heard you wanted to downgrade because you want to install CM10.1.
Well, there is no need to downgrade. You can flash CM10.1 over Aurora after wiping.
If you still have cwm recovery, go straight to CM10.1.

Do you have system partition? You need to revert to stock-partition if you haven't already done so.

How can I revert to stock partition then? I have no clue...
Thanks for your help!
I'd like to know this aswell.
I'm on Aurora and I'm trying to downgrade to official gingerbread B517 so I can unlock my network and I'm also getting a pink screen.
I do have the dload/update.app on the sdcard.
I tried reverting to the original_partition.zip from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882261 (I had the 2gb fix) and I'm still getting the pink screen.
I solved it!!!
instead of having dload/UPDATE.APP in the external SD, I used the internal one and the pwr+volup+voldown worked. Instead of the pink screen, it updated to B517 and my phone is unlocked to any network and free to install custom roms (I was at aurora before but without unlocked networks).
I used the ES File Explorer app to copy the dload folder from the external to the internal SD. In ES file explorer settings I allowed to go to the root and the SD cards are in /mnt/sdcard1 and /mnt/sdcard2/ or something like that.
I turned off the device and removed the battery AND the external SD card
I connected the USB to my PC and turned the phone using pwr + volup + voldwn.
Instead of showing the pink screen, it updated.
I did the same to the other step (in B517 there are 2 steps)
I have unlocked networks and I am ready to install custom roms again
I also installed this patch http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457490 because I was not having USB in the pink screen but I don't know if you also have this issue.
Let me know if this works for you too. I think we had the same issue.
Why with USB cable? Did it not work with the battery? I also want to downgrade to froyo but just waiting for blefish to release his cm10. I also had only pink and no downgrade. I knew this method but never shared cause I did not try it myself. My USB cable sometimes doesn't fit in properly.

Can someone just tell me how to revert to stock partition please?
The steps are listed in the following post, just use the stock-partition zip file
