I don't get how there's a gs3 forum for a device that doesn't exist and has never officially been seen all specs are pure speculation...but then we have a device such as the HTC evo 4g lte which is announced and available for pre order in 3 days with no section?

SGS3 getting a forum and if the HTC evo 4g lte will get one (pro tip I am sure it will) are unrelated.
Its also somewhere to contain the speculation etc (As its supposed to be unvailed soon).
If you want to request a forum for a device there is a thread in the XDA general section.

Moved to general section.

If they release a CDMA version of this phone.. and enough source code.. it could probably easily be ported to Sprint. The original nexus was slated to come to Verizon and Sprint, maybe this one will actually make it, with identical hardware a "port" may not even be needed if we get a sprint version.
I suspect more and more that we will see 2.3 someday anyways, if Samsung bails on 2.3 when they basically have the entire thing made up on us this will be my last Samsung device heh
Hoping to see an Atrix 4G forum added soon. I'm wondering if anyone is going to buy this phone. Looks amazing!
Atrix section coming soon. There's not even a release date yet.
I work for Bell in canada, Its releasing in January with ATT, and Bell should be simul-launching. im definitely looking at this as my next phone, i was gonna get a galaxy s, but no way after this thing is available.
Oh yeah, Definitely gonna jump on this in march when I am available for an upgrade. I can't wait.
+1 to start section, can't wait for this new gun slinger
Will there also be a Atrix 3G section? The Europe/Worldwide version is just HSPA+ 3G. Already for pre-order from cellhut http://www.cellhut.com/Motorola-ATR...band-GSM-Cell-Phone-Specifications-30366.html

Can you clarify for me, please? Asking nicely, not to be oppositional.
Even without a release date, it would nice to "favourite" that section in Tapatalk, just for easy and quick access to rumors/news/etc related to release date, pricing, accessories, etc. Even if it were only a general section, and not the ROM Development, Apps, etc. Just a general area to chit chat and not clutter up the other forums (how many other foums have an Atrix thread??).
Or is the preferred policy of XDA to hold off on creating a new forum until there is a release date?
I can see both sides, really. Just curious, mostly.
I was wondering why there wasn't an Atrix section yet.
Latest rumour on most of the sites seems to indicate March first for AT&T. Will be soon at any rate. Considering its easily the top hardware to attend CES it isnt surprising to see it showing up soon here. Lets hope the smart folks can get it rooted.
+1 for a new section
I was really excited to see the 2100 mhz band supported on the Atrix. I'm assuming that means it'll get 3G with T-Mobile. I hope that's the case..if so, this Nexus S is going back. Can't wait to follow along!
+1, just giving my opinion..
yeah i hope atrix forum is coming soon but i don't understand why did you add xoom forum, but not atrix forum.

I didn't think it mattered because T-Mobile uses AWS for 3g and that's not compatible with AT&T's stuff. I'm no expert on it though and we don't even have T-Mobile in my area
Agree with idavid, there's a Xoom section (and no release date), there should be an Atrix and a Droid Bionic section IMO.
Coming early next week.
+1 from me!
Hi guys..loooove my hd2 but wanting to try the galaxy series..trading someone my hd2..am I making a mistake? Does the vibrant have as many roms? Is it as easy to flash/customize as my hd2? Curious on anyone's thoughts with exp with both phones..BTW I'm running a sense Rom from rapfigna that I love...

Not sure about a Galaxy S but i can definitely recommend a Galaxy S2, best phone on the market (im an old HD2 user) lots of ROM's/Themes,etc,etc too
My suggest to you is to ask the people at Galaxy S 4G forums themselves regarding Rom Development and Customization, while checking their Rom Development section for information such as if they managed to port Gingerbread/Sense Roms to their hardware...

thanks! ill check over there too... and jonny im looking forward to a galaxy s2! it looks insane, just cant quite afford one yet lol!
I have a Samsung Captivate currently running ICS. They are already working on a Jelly Bean port from the nexus S. After having this phone and being on XDA, I have no intention of buying a phone that does not have a large developer following. The HTC OneX looks great, but I don't think I will see the following I have with the captivate....whats the prediction for the S3? I think we get a lot for the captivate because of the nexus S. I am not sure the S3 has the same.
Thoughts?
I'm curious as well because the International S3 (I9300) will have a ton of dev support, but the North American versions should also have a good base as well.
I don't think we will see the same level of development as the I9300, but I think there should be adequate support for us as well.
The galaxy s3 will have adequate support once we see a more consistent launch. Most of the developers don't even have the phone yet.

Coming off of the HTC rezound, i hope it does. I have been on the ropes on buying this or keeping a NEXUS that Verizon sent me as a replacement for my rezound.
Given the similarity in hardware across the carriers... This may be the best supported non nexus device samsung has delivered to the states

As previously stated, this is one of the largest, fastest, and most sought after device on the market today. The Only other andriod device that would be competition would be the One X. I do not think development will be any issue. Once these devices flood the market as i hope and Samsung says, we will be fine!
HTC STOP ICS DEVELOPPEMENT FOR DHD
NO COMMENT!!!!!
6mounth ago i flash my first ICS
i just thinks HTC ARE NoOb...
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT???
GuYs, please stop making tons of posts about this ****. Here for everyone to understand.
Aham, capslock ON:
HTC HASNT CANCELED ANY UPDATE, THATS A DECISION FROM TELUS, A CARRIER. ONLY TELUS BRANDED DHDS WONT GET ICS. THATS ALL, NOT EVERY DHD ISNT GETTING ICS.
ONLY THE DHDS WITH TELUS-BRAMDING. AND EVEN THE OWNERS OF THOSE CAN MAKE ICS WORK BY USING CUSTOM ROMS.
SO BASICALLY EVERY DHD WILL GET OFFICIAL ICS SOONER OR LATER.
