[q] usb to av? - Acer Iconia A500

Is it possible to display video and audio to a television that does not have an HDMI output? Please help, I been looking for cables to buy online however, I do not want to order the wrong cable and be out of luck. I am looking to stream videos from the tablet to a television through the use of an AV cable

Micro HDMI type d I believe to AV cables would most likely work if such a cable exists

yeah i think i might be out of luck !

Do an amazon search for either Micro-HDMI to component/RCA for an SD TV or to VGA to a computer monitor. If you can't get a male VGA/RCA to a female HDMI or male micro HDMI then you'll need a double female HDMI adapter.

New MHL cable supports USB on Go

It seams that the change to the MHL cable is to allow USB on Go with the same cable

there is a MHL adapter that gives you a male 11 pin micro USB to female HDMI so you can just plug a standard male to male HDMI cable from adapter to TV.
see:
Samsung Galaxy S III MHL to HDMI adapter
Does anyone know if this new adapter will work with the Galaxy Nexus, as well? Also, does it charge the phone--or at least keep it from being drained--when USB OTG is being used? I've been looking for a way to use USB OTG with a flash drive on my GN while also charging/powering the phone. USB OTG is a real power hog.
It should, but on mine it doesn't.
I've got a new MHL cable and a USB OTG cable in the hope I could plug my MHL into the SGS3, use a powered USB hub connected to the Micro USB on the MHL and then connect a keyboard and mouse into the USB hub, then connect the HDMI to the TV.
For me it doesn't work. I thought this was the whole reason they changed the MHL cable to the new type. Can anyone else confirm?
Logicalstep
can we get an update on this situation here? How
can we get MHL AND USB OTG?
My reading of the link is that the micro USB port has been repinned to provide USB on the go and not that the cable allows for this.On the mhl cable there is a female HDMI port and a micro USB ( both female) which must be used by the charger.
If the usb connection is also female type, we have to use a usb otg cable to get it work. But at the moment my phone also wont recognize any devices -.-' only mhl and nothing else.
I bought this adapter for 25 euros and want to have it working.
I also asked samsung on facebook 'bout this problem, and everything the told me:
Go support site...
very helpful.
I hope the will enable this feature in a future update.

Can I use a MHL cable for HDMI

I just received my Nexus Q off Ebay and was wondering if I could use an MHL adapter to use HDMI through the microSD port or if I have to use a microHDMI to be able to get video working?

No, it doesn't have the required hardware (mhl transmitter)
Are you sure it didn't come with the micro hdmi cable? both of mine did.

[Q] TV adaptor for nexus 10

What kind of an adaptor do I need to connect my nexus 10 to my TV (it's an older TV, not flat screen, not HD. I don't care about losing the HD, just the size.)
Thanks!
Micro HDMI to HDMI, DVI, or maybe even Component (not 100% sure on that). If the TV doesn't have any of that, then you'll likely need an Analog converter to go from HDMI to VGA, Composite, or RCA.

Check your TV. If it has HDMI, you want micro-HDMI to HDMI. If it doesn't have HDMI, but does have DVI, you'll want that.
If it has neither HDMI nor DVI, you'll need a new TV Or an HDMI to analog converter.
Nexus 10 to CRT TV connection
I have a nexus 10 tablet running stock 4.4.2. I bought an hdmi to rca converter from amazon.com and a micro hdmi to hdmi cable so that I could hook up the tablet to my old sharp crt tv. When I plug in the connections I am seeing a stripe coloured screen that says 'no signal ntsc'. when i turn the switch on the converter to pal it says 'no signal pal'. Could you tell me why this is happening and if anything could be done so that I can see the content from my tablet on my tv? Do I need any software/app installed to make this work? The only ports on the tv are the composite rca ones. I know the tv is old but its its 55 inches and in perfect working condition so I really don't want to purchase another so please if there is anything you know that would help I would be more than greatful.
My setup: the microhdmi to hdmi cable plugged into the micro hdmi port on the tablet, then the rca cable connects to the back of the tv and the rca ports on the converter. Should work?? Help me please. Thanks in advance.

[Q] HDMI via MicroUSB port?

According to iFixit the Nexus 4 contains a SlimPort ANX7808 SlimPort Transmitter (HDMI output converter) chip..
Would this mean we do not need a Micro USB Slim Port MHL to HDMI adapter?
Instead a simple micro hdmi to hdmi cable should work right?

No. Micro-HDMI and micro-USB are different connections - similar size but different shapes. You will need a special Slimport HDMI adapter to make HDMI-out work.

Using SlimPort and OTG at the same time

Has anyone tried using OTG and SlimPort (HDMI/DP/VGA-Output) at the same time? Does it work?

I'm a little confused. Won't the Slimport cable and OTG cable need a seperate mini-USB connection? Unless there is an OTG cable that has some sort of Y-port I'm not aware of or there is a Slimport with similar Y-port I can't see how they could work at the same time with the LG. The connections just aren't... oh...
If you do get some converters of USB male on one end and mini-USB female on the other you could get them to connect but I have no idea if that would work since I don't know nearly enough about the electronics of these devices.
Good luck on your project.

Slimport isnt a cable as much as an adapter. Slimport is like mhl adapter, has a mail microusb to plug into phone, then a female microusb out the side, and female HDMI out the end.... pretty standard fair ... but no op, haven't tried it...
The slimport I've seen online had the electronic guts section with a cable attached. I know what you mean in that it's a device that functions as an adapter, but there are at least some versions that have a flexible cable on the USB end of it.
Your point is made however.
So, OP (or anybody else) did slimport + usb-otg work for you?
Hi, what do you think about this -> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-LG-G3...448165?hash=item1a0294aea5:g:u~IAAOSw-vlVlj7V ?
Would love to know if anyone has solved this in the last four years. Will generic hdmi/usb to micro-usb work? Do MHL hdmi/usb hubs work at all? Is there anyway to get that Ebay item listed above that is long-since unlisted?
