Hello,
I am owner of HTC P3600 from last 12 months and i used custom roms too all was working fine and before 2 days i found that whenever i leave the HTC for few hours it hangs and when i press the standby button to wake it up nothing appears on the screen and i have to reset it to start it again.
Updates:
Ok i re flash the Hard SPL, Radio and Rom and until now (in last 24 hours) it don't hangs.....
Update 2: I think the battery is the problem as the battery time is decreased from 3 days to just 1 and a half day and it freeze now while charging....
Any solution? anyone experience the same problem?
Help please with your views...............
I have a similar problem. My HTC started crashing after a rom update. However, i think it is not crashing due to software...
Well, the software is more CPU demanding, so it heats more than before. Also, i started using backlight properties set to high (i need to set to low again), which again highly heats the PDA. Finally, when charging the battery tends to get very hot. All this put together causes the CPU to overheat and crashing.
At least, from my experience, when it crashes it is always very hot.

Sounds like a radio rom problem. Try to reflash radio.
Thanks for the advice!
I will reflash the radio rom.
If it solves the problem i will update my post here so everyone else knows how to solve this kind of problem.
it helped ? reflashing the radio rom ?
lol you ****up your phone hahahahahahahha
No, it did not helped. Probably it is an hardware problem.
The pda was intensively used connected to the computer, because it was used for software developing.
I think it is broken, hehe.
So about 1-2 months ago, I switched to Android on my HD2, but this wasn't a very good rom. Whenever I turned the screen off, it would only light up black (wtf). It stated the battery was empty all the time. And when I had to restart my phone, and tried booting into android again, it would either freeze on the bootscreen, or it would be the darkest screen ever. Sometimes both.
So I ask; What is the most stable setup to date, for HD2?
I would also like to know which is the most stable Android build to-date (i am not bothered with the HTC Sense layar).
I agree ^^
Right now I'm using mdeejays evo sense 2.3 revolution and upgraded the kernel with Hastarin R8 and it is very stable!!
Its gonna depend on many factors such as what WM rom you're running and what radio as well. I would recommend you get chuckdroid WM rom, a good recent radio, and either evo sense 2.3 or Bangsters 1.5 (if you dont want sense) Ive had good results with both.
Latest Energy WinMo ROM, 2.12 radio, the Android build linked below.
Works fantastic, all day, every day. CM6 mod. MDPI/HDPI hybrid too

I like my setup (in my sig). There's a new skinnyEVO v1.5, and since I haven't tried it, I can't speak of its stability.
The issue you'll encounter in most Android builds is data dropping, which is caused by using PPP (not RMNET) connection. This can be 'fixed' by turning on/off airplane mode.
+1 for Mdeejay builds
just loaded Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 1.1 Matted this morning, so far v smooth, battery 5mA in standby, camera with flash working, no probs so far.
deff' the best of the 3 android builds ive tried
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797357
For the one who said that it depends on many factors, here is my current specifications;
OS-Version
5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila-Version
2.5.19211619.0
ROM-Version
1.66.409.1 (76641) NOR
ROM-Date
01/12/10
Radioversion
2.12.50.02_2
Protokollversion:
15.40.50.07U
What kind of setup would be best for my specs?

I'm on O2 in the UK. Using the latest Sense version of the PhireMOD Skinny EVO (v1.5) with 2.15 radio and the latest Chucky ROM 23139 ~ 3.14. Rock solid stability and very smooth and fast. I get an occasional data drop but that's the same with every PPP build. Battery life with light usage is approx 2 days.
Just upgraded to V8 kernal and it's smoother than ever. Best andriod build i've used - apart from the data drops (which is not the fault of the build) it's pretty much perfect for me. The key is to get the right combination of radio/wmrom/andriod. Unfortunately it seems to be different for different people so just a case of trial and error until you find the right combo. In my case the switch to 2.15 radio solved a lot of issues.
energy and skinnyEVO v1.5 with latest kernell update is the best setup you can get.... after a long search i foud this one to be the best..... oh radio 2.12.50.xxxx great battery life..... >
energy rom and mdeej's Revolution is by far the best sense build to date and there is a new radio for those of you that dont know yet 2.15
There is no guaranteed catch all perfect setup. what may run perfectly fine for me may run absolutely horrible for you. Different strokes for different folks.
Factors you have to consider:
SD Card (class, size, whether is SDHC or not, how it is formatted, cluster size)
Battery calibration (does your battery last a long time in WinMo?)
Your own knowledge (if you cannot be bothered to search for any simple problems then you WILL get frustrated trying to run Android)
the best way you can find out the best setup for you is trial and error.

Sorry for the noob question, but can somebody describe data dropping to me?
I got a HD2 from work on the weekend, so the first thing I did was install android
I installed: Radio_2_14_50_04, and FroyoStone_Sense_V3.2. This combo is working fine and seems stable.
The problem I had yesterday was that I could not access the internet although I had a strong 3g or H signal. The problem would suddenly disappear and access would be fine for a few minutes and then no access again. Access seems more consistant today.
Battery life seems a problem too, it was fully charged at 7am this morning and was down to 5% by 5pm, that was with mild usage apart from about an hour mp3 and 30 min gps.
Any of this sound normal for android on a HD2?

there is a VERY BIG discussion on a lot of threads about data drops, search for them. that is one nagging PITA at the moment for Android. switching airplane
mode on and off always worked for me though, also need to have the correct
APN setting for your network

reboot Android at least three times and the battery usage will improve drastically
my juice lasts a full day of moderate to heavy usage.

Thanks for the info...the airplane mode trick worked a treat
When you say reboot android 3 times, do you mean reset the whole device, or is there a way to shut down and restart the android os?
Cheers
Tony
I use:
VBN reloaded 2 minimal ROM
mdeejay revolution 2.0
radio 2.12.50.
One time deals:
i) turn off auto backlight in winmo
ii) do a g-sensor calib in winmo
Make sure you :
i) Load android using EBL *as soon as you possibly can*
ii) press the back button when its loading HaRET
and you are all set !!!

Hi everybody. I got my hd2 second hand and it doesn't have a warranty. My phones seems to have a faulty temperature sensor. Is there any way to disable the sensor by software? Or even manually would be great. I don't mind opening the phone since it isn't really useable in it's current condition. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Dang, I was hoping someone had a fix
Can you describe the problem a bit more. My Hd2 has overheated but is completely usable.(happens when charging and watching movies /a lot of YouTube)
Sent from my HTC Hd2 using XDA App
Hi, I have tried running wm6, android, and wp7. Starting from room temperature my phone usually works for 10-15 minutes before locking up and I have to take the battery out. The battery does not feel warm, only the lower portion of the phone. After the phone sits for 5 minutes or so I can put the battery back in and turn it on. Holding the phone it barely feels warm.
I don't know on witch radio version you are now but I have had some equal problems in the past, and by changing my radio the problem was solved. lately I'm on Radio 2.15.50 (all is okay now) but previously when i was on radio 2.14.50 and 2.12.50 I had this issue.
Thanks. I'll give it a try. Hopefully changing the radio will help
Had nothing to do with your battery, that's your processor heating up. Install set cpu
It depends also what you call overheating.
It's normal than the phone become hot in some conditions (GPS, ...).
This was also stated on the HTC website when they launched the HD2.

How are you measuring the battery usage? Is this with just the ROM, or have you installed any apps?
Any ROM will consume a bit after the first boot, and will settle to 1 - 5 mA eventually unless something is wrong.
I have installed Current widget from the market.....

there's quite a few threads on "battery drain" in HD2 / Android forum, right now cannot provide you with links but you'll definitely find sth, via forum browsing, search or google in xda,
afair one of the chief reasons was GPS location turned on, also some ROM used to have problems with BT in standby, for starters disable all sync / comm / location functions, then check the current and if it's ok start turning them one by one, with a few minutes of standby in between
Battery solved, Black Screen
OK, thank you for your help. I manage to get power consumtion of 6mA in st-by eith "Transformers" version of android from this forum but now i have problems with wakeing up my phone. I will ask here to avoid opening new thread. When My phone goes to sleep it happens that i can't wake-up him. Lights on buttons get light, but screen remain black. Only solution is to remove the battery. My Phone info is as follows:
HTC HD2 T-Mobile
OS version: 5.2.21892
Manila version: 2.5.20121412.2
ROM Version: 2.13.531.1
ROM Date: 4/28/10
Radio: 2.10.50.26
SD Card is ScanDisk 2 16GB
Thank you for help and patience...

don't know which build you're using, mine is ACA (SD), in some of the older builds sth similar used to happen, but usually most of the SOD's were shallow, so I was able to get out of them waiting 5-10 seconds between each attempt of unlocking the device, either using power button, of home/menu combo,
what helped for some users was setting the min CPU in Set CPU or CM Settings up from 128 to 245
When I was using SD based builds I have problems with battery drain as well. To solve the problem, power off your phone, power it on while holding the vol. down button, then pull batt and turn it on again. Then boot into Android through Haret. It worked for me, but it got irritating when I had to do that quite often. In the end I just switched to NAND builds, and I never had problems with battery drain since.
O and just btw cyberx85, I think normally we use a 2.15.xxx radio for the HD2. You can try these links on how to get that on your HD2.

My sister has the same problem on her HD2, I told her to order a new SD card. Class 2. I'll post if she has any success.
Does this trick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933751 still works in Mango version? Becouse i have a 5.51t software radio version and 2.15 radio on my HTC HD2 euro version and camera trick doesn't work for me. My battery drain after 4-5 hours (sic!) of using WP7. (music, internet connection etc.). Battery stats show -220 drain. Is it normal? Any solutions?
A Random Battery Fix!!!
Hi all,
I am running mango 7720 (v2) - radio is still 5.69 for 2weeks now.
Have installed both radios 2.15 and 2.12 without any luck in regards to the camera trick. it worked upon a fresh format (-5ma), few apps later i am at -74ma. Battery lasts 9hrs 3g on, barely any use!!! dropped over 90% overnight.
I am aware that 5.51T/5.51 radio fixes this problem but i am waiting until XBmod releases the radio package without the need to format the phone.
I am running radio 2.12 for a few days now with horrendous battery life, until i came across something random.
Now, my drain is at -4/5ma and it lasts well over a day with 3g on. This is what i did (tested for 2days and loving it!):
Connect to wifi, turn off phone, turn phone on, do camera trick, turn wifi off, turn airplane mode on, then off and there you go!
Have tried doing the trick with/without reboots/wifi/airplane mode touched, - all failed!!! How weird, yes?
Hope this helps others.
God bless you XBmod-Yuki

Did you sideload any apps after the fresh install though? Been running 7720 on my TMOUS with 5.51T and it was great for about a week, then after a full charge, battery saver would show that i'm losing a percent about every 10 mins. Battery tool says i'm getting between 4-10ma on standby so i find it strange. Battery saver used to say time remaining would be 1 day and a few hours, but now on full charge it says 20 hours. Is battery saver even reliable for its readouts?
I really don't want to reset my phone (done it about 10 times) but if this will fix the drain then I will.

Please reply
Bluetooth seems power hungry when phone is idle
I have lots of apps & music installed and great battery life as long as i switch off Bluetooth when not in use.
To test standby current correctly:
Launch Battery Tool,
Lock phone,
Wait a couple of minutes to make sure phone has gone into standby.
Unlock phone and wait 10 seconds for reading.
Bluetooth enabled standby current ~100mA
Bluetooth disabled standby current ~6mA.
I am in a 3g area and Wifi is enabled.
